The Lamia and the Carbuncle.... Part 2

"SLAM!"

As Rune saw the hellhound leap at Valentina, eager to maul the helpless young girl, he immediately charged the beast and managed to knock it away a few feet from Valentina's unconscious body.

Angry that his hunt had been interrupted by some runt of a monster, the hellhound roared furiously and leapt towards Rune with the intent to tear him to pieces.

Rune smirked and he jumped up and he easily dodged the much larger monster's attack and he quickly landed on the hellhound's back and he began to bite down on the beast's neck with a special venomous attack.

Within minutes, Rune's special venom began to work and the hellhound began to feel weak as its power was slowly draining from its body into Rune.

Realizing that in had made a mistake in thinking that Valentina would be easy prey and the hulking beast began to attempt to escape from the its losing battle with the much stronger monster. All the hellhound's actions were futile and only succeeded in making Rune emit sinister chuckles while he spoke to the hellhound.

"Heh heh heh, do you really think that you can actually get away after attacking my future master? You really are just a mindless beast!"

A few seconds after the carbuncle had finished speaking, his crystal horn began to glow a bright violet color and then a slender beam of blackish violet light similar to that of a laser shot out of it. The beam of light glowed brightly and it immediately pierced the throat of the hellhound, mortally wounding it and then the beast fell to the ground and it slowly bled out.

As soon as he thought that the hellhound was completely dead, Rune rushed over to check Valentina to check for any injuries when the silvery insectoid monster that had been hiding in her magenta hoodie spat out some sticky webbing towards Rune to try to scare him off.

"HISSSSS!"

The rabbit-like monster chuckled and began to speak ti the fuzzy spider-like monster.

"Easy now, I'm on her side just like you."

The silvery bug calmed down a bit but it still kept its eyes trained on Rune just in case.

Rune then caught the scent of blood coming from Valentina's unconscious from and he soon found the gash that she had received from a particularly sharp branch on her arm and he began to lick it clean. When he was finished, he instructed the silvery spider creature to cover the bad cut on the girl's arm with a layer of webbing to serve as a makeshift bandage until Rune could reach Una.

As soon as he was sure that Valentina's arm was taken care of for the time being, Rune shot a bright beam of light out of his horn in order to signal Una to come to his location.

Soon Rune heard a rustling from the bushes surrounding the clearing and soon a lovely lamia slithered her way out of the woods, and she looked over and saw the Valentina's unconscious body which caused the lamia to give out a cry of worry.

"What happened, is the mistress alright?"

Rune soon explained the situation which resulted in her striking out at Rune with her long blue tail which he managed to dodge. Una then picked up Valentina with her long tail and she began to carry the girl back to the dungeon while Rune and the spider creature followed closely behind.
