Pretty Lady's Smile

The loud crash from outside made the long haired girl jolted from her nap, that made her pissed off. The girl got up from the couch and tied her hair into a high ponytail, the TV in the office is on as she sees the news. Apparently the interview didn't go so well, she figured as such. Katie Killjoy was a fucking bitch anyways.

But what in the name of 17 stages of bloody burning hell was that loud sound? Melody could seriously grab out her scythe and cut someone right up. The girl turns off the TV as she opens the door of the office to see the others in the lobby, but her rich red eyes landed on someone familiar. He seem to be talking to Charlie about some food recipe, the second he notices that he been stared at — the radio demon turns his head towards the person. Melody jumped as she slammed the door shut, what the hell is he doing here?

It's not that they had a bad relationship, she was never really comfortable around him. The radio demon also known as Alastor was Hell most powerful demon known, Melody knew him too well and so does he. Hell, she even knew him when she was alive but she wasn't sure if he knew her back then. Melody takes a deep breath as she opens the door, he's still looking her way- nope! The girl slams the door again and leans against it.

Wait a minute, was he the reason that she was jolted awake? Sheesh, he's lucky that it was him and not Angel or someone would have to die twice in their already-dead life. Melody was about to open the door again when a knock came from the other side of the door, she stood straight up as she opens the door. Her whole body froze to see it was him.

"Why hello there, darling!" He greets, his everlasting smile widened even if it was possible. Melody avoided eye contact as she looks at the others behind the tall demon. She didn't want to be mean so she decided to respond,

"Hello.." it came out like a whisper, Alastor seemed amused.

"You know it is quite rude to not look at someone when they are talking." He comments, Melody sighs and looks at him.

"Sorry." Was all she could say, Melody desperately wanted to get out of that situation. "Um-" she start, Alastor raises his eyebrows. "Can I come out?" She asks, pointing out that he been blocking the doorway. He laughs as he stepped aside,

"Of course!" Melody walks out as she mumbled a thanks. Almost immediately she walk quickly beside Charlie, Vaggie looks at Melody with a confused face.

"What was that?" She points out, Melody tenses up and looks around in awkwardness.

"I'll tell you about it later but-" Melody turns to Charlie, "I'm not even gonna ask why you let him in but, are you okay?" She asks, Charlie raises her eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" She asked back, Melody's shoulders relaxed.

"I saw that the interview went awful." She recalled, Charlie nodded and sighed.

"Yeah.. they thought of it as a joke, I just don't want my people to die." Charlie says, referring to the cleansing day. Melody smiled sympathetically.

"It's alright dear, I'll help you as much as I could. I'm sure there's someone out there." She reassures, Charlie nodded and smiled. Melody turns to Vaggie as she nodded, with that Melody walks away to leave Vaggie with Charlie alone. The girl decides to sit down on the sofa as she holds up her hand slightly to summon a book, she holds it as she began reading. She could feel someone sitting beside her as they inched closer,

"Hey there~" a voice cooed beside her. Melody looks up and turns to Angel, he's getting annoying again. Even though Angel don't usually flirt with women, he does it to Melody because he thinks its funny.

"Don't make me drown you in holy water again." She says, Angel groans.

"You know I like it when you hurt me~" Angel fights back, you can seriously hear the uncomfortable internal scream inside of Melody. But instead of saying anything back, she turns away from him.

"You remind me of a friend." She mumbled, Angel didn't quite hear that.

"What was that?" He asks, Melody turns to him with a bottle sprayer in hand as she sprays the porno spider.

"I said you're disgusting." Melody says as Angel hisses and went away from being sprayed. The girl sigh and continue to read her book, it was history about the old times. That's when she realise something, she's actually pretty hungry. The black haired girl pulls out her phone to find the time is almost lunchtime. Melody was about to tell Charlie that its lunchtime when she noticed something, sheesh she didn't seem to notice anything due to her just waking up from more than an hour long nap.

Since when was there a bar? Why is there two people that she doesn't recognize? Melody stands up as she walks over to the bar, she looks at it all over as she turns to the two girls. Melody watched the two and realized they're too busy talking to each other so she decided not to bother them. The 'person' behind the bar who's supposed to be the bartender only stared as he chugs down a bottle of cheap booze. The girl looks at him and tilts her head,

'He's a cat..' The girl thought.

"What the fuck are ya looking at?" His rough voice made Mel blink.

"Sorry." She apologize and was about to leave until Alastor suddenly comes up and grabs her shoulder,

"Now, Now! Don't be all tensed up!" His radio-like voice filled her ears. "Husker why don't you introduce yourself?" Alastor says as he looks at said person.

"Don't you fucking Husker me, you shithead." He cuss as he rolls his eyes. "The name's Husk, nice to meet you whatever." He introduces himself. Melody glances at Alastor's hand as she takes it off from her shoulder,

"Melody—" She answers but was cut off when Husk slammed his bottle of booze on the table in shock, that made the poor girl jump in surprise.

"THAT Melody?" He breathes out, Melody glances away in awkwardness.

"I'm not sure who you're talking about but yeah- I'm Melody-" She answers, Husk stays quiet once he realized he overreacted and leans back and continue to drink his booze. Mel flatten her lips and managed to slip her way out of that situation as she made her way to the window to look outside, what the hell-

Why is there a big giant ass hole outside, was there where the crash were heard from? The girl shook her head and walks to the kitchen but was stopped by a female demon, short and very cute.

"Hi there! The name's Niffty!" She smiles brightly as her one big eye shined. Melody smiles and waves,

"Melody." She reply, but before she could walk to the kitchen like she was planning to. Niffty stopped her,

"Wait, wait, wait! I have a question!" She says as she grips on the other girl's dress. Melody tilts her head, "Why do you look human?" She asks, her smiles suddenly dropping. Melody glances away and hummed in awkwardness.

"Well. Actually I don't exactly look like this, it's just I'm more comfortable like this." She reply as best as she could and Niffty made an 'o' shaped mouth as Melody waves and walks away, Niffty watches her from afar until she walks inside the kitchen and behind the doors. Niffty turns to Alastor with a face and he only smiled his usual everlasting smile.

As soon as she closes the door behind her, she sighs and walks over to the fridge to find something she could do. There's barely anything in here, guess she'll just make tea then and probably buy something on the go when she have to go home later on.

"Bye Charlie, bye Vaggie!" Melody waves at the two as they did the same. She walks towards the door and opens it and closes it behind her. With a black victorian lace umbrella in hand, she opens it and hovers it over her head; purposely covering her face from other people's view. The girl start to walk her way back to her house that is a bit further away from the hotel.

Passing through stores, shops, bars, strip club and all other things there she enters a restaurant to buy something for her to eat for dinner and walks back out and continue her walk to her house. When I said her house is further away from the hotel, it's like it's out of the city because the more she neared her destination the less crowded the place are to the point its quiet.

The silence made her thoughts race, why was that radio demon in the hotel? What are his schemes? What is he planning to do? Will he hurt Charlie? If he did, she might just have to kill him for good but of course that wouldn't be an easy task. The girl quietly sigh as she walks up a porch of a house that's nearby the woods. How the hell does Hell have trees when there's no sun to begin with?

Who knows, maybe Lucifer does. She takes out keys and unlocks her front door and walks in, locking the door behind her. She sets down her umbrella in its place by the door and walk her way through the darkness of her house and to the kitchen island where she sets down the food she had bought with her on it. The black haired girl walks over to the TV and turns it on to rewatch the news to see what exactly happened.

"Fucking bitch." She lowly cussed at Katie Killjoy who's laughing her ass off at Charlie. Angel had joined the turf war with his best friend, Cherri Bomb war with Sir Pentious. No wonder Vaggie was so pissed off at him before, hell Melody would be too — the fact she was also jolted awake from her nap which makes her mad even more. The girl shuts the TV out of frustration and leans back on her couch, thinking for a moment before she sits up straight and picks up something that's been on her coffee table.

Its a notebook that she uses to write things down so she wouldn't forget, 'Charlie's project is about rehabilitating demons to go to Heaven so the overpopulation in Hell would decrease and nobody would have to be "cleanse" every year.' The girl read through the sentence and under that write messily;

'Even though it is not possible for Demons in hell to be sent up Heaven to be an Angel, I still want to support Charlie and help her through it.' Mel flatten her lips together and let her hands fall on her lap as she stare out her window.

"One day I have to tell her that sending someone from hell to heaven or vice versa is nowhere near possible." She sigh as she gets up to eat her food, after that she walk up her stairs and to her bedroom which is down a small hallway. The girl shut the door behind her as she walks over to her bed, sitting on the edge of it.

Like usual, the silence made her thoughts race again. This time she pondered back to the times Angel would always make his stupid dirty jokes, dirty and disgusting it is — Melody honestly couldn't hold back some chuckles. He truly reminded her when she was alive, having a friend that would always make dirty jokes and knowing how much Melody didn't enjoy it as much.

Sheesh, why is she always like this? Thinking non-stop, it may lead her to another overthinking. So what better way to break the strings of silence by doing what her name is called? Singing it is, the girl stand up from her bed and start to spin around; singing in the process as she walks to her closet to pull out clothes for the night and set them down on her bed.

"We're just playing hide and seek and- trying hard to breathe in under the sheets with you~" The girl sing a song of her favourite singer as she stops in front of the mirror. She stopped singing as she stare at herself, Niffty's words echoed in her head;

"Why do you look human?"

Was what she said, Melody wouldn't say as such — her eyes are piercing rich red (even though it looked like that before she was even dead) and when she smiled with her teeth showing, rows of sharp teeth could be seen. Maybe because Melody was the type to hardly smile or talk, nobody even noticed it.

'Come on little lady, give us a smile. No, I got nothing to smile about.'

That one song lyric played in her head as she frowns and walks away from her reflection. She gets herself in the shower to get ready for night.
