Chapeter 1

It was a gloomy day, the snow was falling as it had never done before, covering the meadows and scrub that tried in every way to resist the cold. We are in a clearing with a thick wood on either side. Everything was deserted and there hadn't been a sound for days, until a cat appeared from a large bush. It had white fur with black patches scattered across its back and one across its muzzle, making it look more menacing. But the thing that intrigued the most was the lack of its tail. The cat as an animal must be complete. However, it was distinguished from all other cats and whoever welcomed it or even looked at it once, would never forget it. The cat began to walk slowly, crossing the entire snow-covered meadow and leaving its small footprints on the white snow. The cat absolutely wanted to get to a village that he hoped was nearby. So... Walked, walked, walked ... And he arrived at the foot of a small town (just what he was looking for) called Parkertour. This place had the reputation of being one of those quiet villages, so much so that people also took the liberty of hardly ever locking their doors both at night and during the day, moreover, they roamed the city freely without ever worrying. This quiet, however, would not last long. In fact, one cannot speak of calm when the cat without a tail is involved. The cat began to explore the place, walking even in the smallest alleys that went around that mixture of houses forming a kind of labyrinth and, around ten the following day, considering himself suitable for the task and ready to take action, he positioned himself in the middle of the road. He waited about twenty minutes lying there until a big car arrived with a man with long hair, more black than pitch and with a dozen tattoos on each arm, at the wheel. He had a powerful build and even if he was a little short he managed to convey the right fear to the people we approached for the first time with him. The man was quietly listening to the music at low volume, respecting the speed limits and did not notice the cat. So he hit him and hearing a muffled noise from the windshield, he got out to see what had happened, hoping for the little gravity of the situation. But what he saw was anything but frightening or serious: it was horrible and disgusting! There was a cat with severed limbs, organs out of the body and rolled up eyes. A gruesome spectacle to say the least, but above all impossible. In fact, the van could never have caused that kind of injury to the cat, so it must have been done before ... but how? He did not have time to think, because another car arrived, in which a girl of more or less nineteen was driving. She, a lover of animals, immediately jumped out of her angry red panda and gave a good lecture to the man who, apologizing and feeling uncomfortable about the situation, introduced himself as Roger, finally proposing to take the animal to the vet. The girl, who didn't even deign to introduce herself, took it upon herself to bring the cat home and treat him as best she knew how, with the help of her mother (who was once an assistant to an important veterinarian in Paris) and his two younger brothers, who wanted a cat more than anything else. So he placed the animal on a cloth and placed it on the back seat of the car. He got home. A large house with mighty walls with a huge garden full of tall trees that gave it something solemn and disturbing. The house was a pastel pink with a large chocolate brown door, with two knobs that framed the opening with keys. This house / villa was in fact one of the few to close the door securely. The girl desperately searched for the keys, which she thought she had left in her purse, but not finding them, she decided to ring the bell. His mother arrived and as soon as he saw her in that state of anxiety and frustration he immediately asked her what had happened. Once she explained what had happened, the mother immediately went to the car to see what state the cat's injuries were in, but when she opened the door and leaned into the seat, she saw nothing. No cats and no injuries. The curious and frightened girl went to check in person ... It was as if nothing had ever happened because the animal had also brought with it the filthy smell it had left behind. It was gone. ~~~~~~~~~~ Here is the first part of a long book full of adventures and mysteries. I hope there aren't too many errors I will continue to write and hope to receive some comments and opinions. Rosy Parker
