Chapter 75

My relatives were leaving after the funeral of my parents are complete in the evening. Before they leave, my uncles and aunts will give me some encouraging advice which I started to fed up with. I just keep on my fake smile hoping that they will be at ease.

'And that's the last one, looks like it's time for me to go back home but where...my parents were gone...and that place will never be called home without them...' My smile fades away after I realise how lonely I would be in that house.

''Miyu-chan, are you okay? Why with the sudden frown?'' Yuuto patted my head which sobers me up from sinking deep in my thoughts.

''Ah...It was nothing...My mind just happens to overthink just now.'' I tilt up my head. Yuuto gives me a tiny smile before he pointed at the hall.

''Your grandmother was waiting for you inside. Hurry up and meet her, you don't want to make an elderly waiting for you anymore.''

''Okay.'' I began to heads towards the hall. As I was a few steps away from him, my chest started to feel uneasy. I turn my head around and asked,

''Um...Yuuto-kun, can you wait for me before you head back?'' Clutching my hand tightly into a fist, I was scared that he might deny my request and head back home early since it was already evening.

And I know I shouldn't be so close to him because he was quite obsessed with me to the point that he might threaten me with something worst. After all those things happen, I can't help but to want to be close to him.

''Sure, I am willing to wait for you even for the rest of my life if you ask me to.'' Yuuto smiled gently.

Hearing that, my heart was mixed with all kind of emotions that was hard to explain. I feel scared knowing that he was still crazy for me and at the same time I feel happy for also that same reason. I try to shake my thoughts away since it was too complicated.

''Thank you, Yuuto-kun.'' I thanked him before heading inside the hall.

Looking around, I notice that my grandmother was still sitting in the hall. Our eyes met and instantly the wrinkles all around her face was visible as she smiled at me.

''Good evening grandmother.'' I slightly bow at her.

''Good evening, Mi-chan. There's no need for you to talk so formally with me and there's no one around so is free to let out your thoughts with this old granny of yours.''

''Yea...I guess I could. So, why does granny still haven't head back home? I thought that everyone has already left.'' I take a seat next to her.

''How could I be heading home so early without getting to have some time alone with my beautiful granddaughter? There's no need for me to rush since this place was our home town.'' She patted my head while she gazed at me gently.

''Mi-chan, do you want to stay here with me? We can spend more time together and there's no need to worry about education because here we have the perfect school for you.''

Her questions surprise me a little since I never even gave a thought to be staying here with her.

''I am not quite sure, granny. Let me ask—" I paused after I realised something.

"Geez...I almost forget about it...'' My eyes began to tear after I remember that the person that I will always look for whenever I have doubt was no longer here with me.

''It's okay, you will get used to it sooner or later. Now, follow the voice deep inside your heart and make the choice you will regret the least.'' My granny pointed at my heart.

''And what if I make a terrible mistake?'' I look at her as I wipe off the tears from my cheeks.

''Believe me, every choice that we take will have something that we will regret in the end. And when the worst comes to the worst, you will regret just a tiny bit if you choose the choice you think you will regret the least.''

Listening to those wise words from her, I smiled as I eventually make up my decision. I wanted to move on my life is what my heart desire.

''Granny, I want to keep on living in that town. I know that we could spend more time together but I think it's the best way for me to learn how to be independent if I stay there by myself.'' I tell her with determination.

''I see... Well, I know it from the very beginning that you will deny my offer. You are just like your mother, stubborn and strong-willed at the same time.'' She gives out a relieved smile.

''And I had also had a surprise for you when you head home. I bet this gift will keep you company for the whole time but make sure to visit me often if possible.''

''What?'' I was confused about what she might be talking about.

''You will see. Now, I will be heading back and water those flowers. Mi-chan, may I ask you something?'' My grandmother stood up from her seat and pointed outside.

''Was that red-haired pretty boy that was waiting for you over there your boyfriend?''

''Ehh?!! Yuuto-kun is not my boyfriend or anything like that. He was my bestie, granny! Please don't let your wild imagination to go crazy in your head.'' I could feel my face was burning in embarrassment.

''Ho ho~ Bestie huh? I 'understand' very well. I though youngster nowadays were very open about their relationship.'' She gives me a sly foxy look before she heads towards the door.

''Granny!!!!'' I covered my face as I can't stand the embarrassment in front of my grandmother.

***

As my train has arrived at my destination, the sun has sunk and left the sky dark in black. I notice that there's a huge difference between the city's sky with the countryside. The only stars I see was the same spring triangle I saw last night.

''Hey, Yuuto. Do you see that?''

''The three brightest stars? Yup.'' He looked up.

''They said that the stars that are shining brightly in the sky were the soul of the dead, right? So, that must have been my mother, father and Sara-chan.'' I pointed the stars one by one.

''And right next to Sara-chan was Mr Monk. Can you see the star next to that upper side of the triangle?'' Yuuto pointed at the small white dot that's hanging next to one of the stars.

''Whao... I didn't saw that one coming...''

I didn't notice while we are chatting the all way back home, there's someone was following us from the back in a black hoodie.

''How dare him getting so close with my angle! I must kill him...I must kill him...I MUST KILL HIM.'' That mysterious man muttered behind the alley while he stalked us.
