It's been 3 days since I have last talked to Yuuto. I never thought that he would push me away that day. I remember when I talked to him about Sakura, I speak softly next to him because I don't want to let Touya who was walking pass by us to hear about something sad in front of him after getting all scared of the boar accident.
He pushed me away while his face seems to pale a bit. I couldn't believe that Yuuto would something like that towards me. Instead of asking him for an explanation, I just leave him alone since I notice that his body is trembling but it was a mistake I have made.
Ever since that day, things gets a bit awkward between us. I wanted to give him a phone call but I hesitated. I wonder if he would even mind picking my call. Then, I swipe through my phone and looked for Touma's number to ask for his opinion.
''Moshi, moshi, Kudo-des.'' Touma answered.
''Ah, good evening, Touma-san! Am I disturbing you or anything?''
''No, you are not, Miyu-san. Why with the call by the way? Is there's something that you wanted to talk about?''
"Umm...how was your ankle? Does it still hurt?" I suddenly remembered that he hurts his ankle back then.
"My ankle was doing just fine. In a few more days, I think I was able to walk without needing any helps."
''I see...So how were Sakura's parents?'' I asked after hesitating for some time but I still couldn't ask him straightway what was running wild in my mind.
''Well, they are not doing that fine after their only daughter had passed away... Mrs Shibata's eyes were swollen on the day when I pay my respect at the funeral.''
''I see...it must've been hard on them...I-I think I will be hanging up my call then. I am sorry to bother you in this late evening.''
''Hey, Miyu.'' All of a sudden his gentle voice turned icy cold as he called out my name.
''Y-YES?!'' I shuttered.
''You are not calling me just to ask about my ankle and someone you barely even know only, right? Get me straight to the point, Miyu-san. What is bothering your mind right now?'' Touma demanded coldly.
''I-It was nothing, Touma-san. I was not like I care about Yuuto-kun. He has been ignoring me for this past few days and I was not even bothered about that. Hahaha!'' I awkwardly laughed on the phone.
'Ah, shit! When will my clumsy mouth ever shut about something like this?' I silently scolded myself.
''So, it was him, huh? Yuuto was ignoring you for these few days and it was bothering you, am I right?''
Hearing him say that, I have no other choices but to tell him everything that's going in my mind. While I tell him what had happened between us on that day when he pushed me and everything suddenly gets awkward, Touma just quietly listen to all my nonsense.
''A-and you know...*sniffs*...what, Touma-san?'' I rubbed my stuffy nose after crying over the phone.
''What?''
''I don't even dare to give him a phone call to ask him if there's some kind of misunderstanding between us! I am such a dummy for not asking him that day!! What should I do, Touma-san? I don't want to spend my whole summer break to frustrate about this!!''
''Well, you are afraid of him ignoring your phone call, just try to meet him in person. I will help you with that if you wanted to.'' He kindly offers me.
''Really?'' I was so surprised and overwhelmed with my emotion that I began to bawl on the phone.
''T-Thank you..*sniff*...so much, Touma-san! *sniffs*...I know I....could count on you in this.''
''Now, now. Why don't you wipe your tears first? I can hear you are crying so badly over the other side of the phone, you silly pancake.'' He softly scoffed.
''Talking about summer break, do have any plans next week because I wanted to ask you if you are free to join me at the firework festival? I was not trying to be rude or anything since you have gone through a lot of things, I know going to these kinds of event might make you upset—"
''I will go.''
''Wait, you sure—"
'' 'Sometimes you just have to take a quick break to walk further ahead.' That is what my mother will say to me if she was right next to me right now. By the way, I heard from your brother that your mother's conditions started to get better, right?'' I wipe my runny nose as I looked up at my room's ceiling.
''Yes, my mother started to show some improvement after her fingers started to moves a bit yesterday. I guess that Touya was overly excited that he did tell you everything on the phone last night.'' I can hear that his voice lighten up a bit.
*Knock knock!*
''Mi-nechan, the dinner is ready!'' Hikaru called.
''Is that Hikaru-san?'' Touma asked.
''Yup, I guess he has already prepared the dinner. Okay then, I think I should get going. I am sorry to bother you with all these talking until this late hour. See you later.''
***
''See you later, pancake.'' Touma hanged the phone up after talking to Miyu for hours.
''It does feel quite nice when your crush trusted you and tell you everything that's bothering them. I like it when she cried over the phone while letting her thoughts out loud to me. When asked for my opinion as to if she needed to rely on me. I love her sweet voice and everything about her.'' Touma murmured to himself as he looked at the pictures of Miyu that he takes secretly.
''If only there's a way for me to make her stay by my side for the whole time, I would even do anything for it.'' Touma smiled to himself.
''I want her so badly..."

''Miss Kinoshita! It was urgent! Please follow me, quick!'' One of the police officers burst into my office as I was still doing some paper investigation.
''What's the matter, officer?'' I asked after I put my paper aside.
''They have finally found the murderer. The Kumihimo serial killer was found dead near the river in the mountain when we are searching for more evident for the Shibata's murdering case.'' He reported.
''What? Are you sure it was the killer that has escaped the police custody?'' I looked at him in disbelief.
''Yes, it was confirmed after they have identified the body as him. Finally, all those murdering cases have been solved!'' He cheered.
"No way..." I murmured to myself in disbelief.
''Why do you look so down, miss? I thought it was something to be happy about.'' He asked after noticed my frown.
''It was nothing...I was a bit shocked because it is just too good to the true...'' I feel hesitated to either believe that the real serial killer was found dead and let this case close just like that or to keep on going investigates this even more.
'I will...'
