The System part 2

" Let's try. "

She closed her eyes and thought of some domineering forms her Halfsie could turn into. After quite some time, she glanced at the creature on her palm, tilted her head and said.

" Well, it doesn't seem to work after all. "

" Host, what did you imagine me to become?" The system bounced ecstatically. If one day it could transform, at least it knew the host was willing to change it.

" A viper."

" Viper?"

The system can't help but wonder, why a snake? Of all the possible amazing creatures she can consider, a simple snake was what she thought of.

[ Host, you know everything is possible right? Literally, your imagination is the limit.]

Of course, it didn't dare voice it out. The round form it has maybe flattened at any moment. It still remembers that look of contemplation she had when she first saw it. Halfsie can almost see its swatted form from her squinted eyes.

" Beautiful black scales added with your ruby-like eyes. You'll also be a venomous, cold-blooded predator. Such a deadly beauty, isn't it perfect? " Touching her chin as she nodded, she answered the fur ball on her palm.

[ They are obviously elegant creatures, why did I find them repulsive before? ] Such thought crossed her mind.

" But host, I want to be a dragon. " It's youthful voice getting softer and softer. It has to be courageous now and tell the host that it wants to be a domineering dragon. Never mind the golden colors it daydreamed, pure black is okay as long as it could be a dragon.

" Dragon huh. " She raised her head ruminating on that possibility.

" Dragons are just like snakes but with limbs, don't you think? If you become a viper, you'll be like a dragon without those unnecessary limbs. "

Halfsie: ...

Looking at the dejected piece of black mass, she can't help but continue.

" Also if you transform into a viper, I'll change your name. "

Suddenly the silent system became injected with chicken blood.

[ It's not too late. Redemption, here I come!]

With its scarlet eyes flashing brightly at her, it urged her to continue.

" I will call you Danger Noodle from then on. "

Its bright eyes instantly shrank. It can't help but consider that the host must have an awful sense of naming. For a moment it was thankful that its name is Halfsie.

It decided that from now on, it will embrace the name Halfsie for eternity.

All of the sudden, it felt the host gently fumbling over its body. The furball simply left all the bad thoughts away and immersed itself within the comfort of her massage.

[ I knew it. Beyond the terrifying evil stats, lies the host's gentle core. ]

It closed its eyes and sighed contentedly.

" I can't find it. " Her voice pulled it back to reality.

Halfsie:?

" Halfsie, you don't seem to have a pp. Does it mean you're a female?" She poked the cute creature on her palm. It's really squishy, so enjoyable to touch. She thinks she just found a new hobby.

" What's a pp? " The system can't help but ask. It contained numerous information in its database but can't seem to find the term pp on it.

She laughed ambiguously and replied,

" It would be your first assignment." She was amused by such an adorable system. It seems forever won't be so boring with such a creature by her side.

" I understand host. I will do my best. " Halfsie felt that it could finally show its host how dependable it is.

As if remembering something, the black mass stopped jiggling and look at its host.

" Host, you haven't bound with me yet. "

" Didn't I do that already with the contract? " She placed the system on the floor and lay down on her side.

" Yes, but it's different. "

It bounced near its host's face and angled itself in a position that looked more convincing.

" It's like a username. You bind with me so you can access the system through me. "

" Go on. " She closed her eyes, totally lazy.

" It's quite simple, host. You just put in me a shred of your soul. "

Her eyes abruptly opened and glanced at the system.

[ Host you look at me as if you want to cook me. ]

The system thought it was up for another abuse but was surprised that the host simply threw it a scrutinizing gaze.

" Carry on." She said.

Clearly, the host wasn't mad, so why can't it stop from trembling?

" Well. Host, you, you just place your finger on my head and I will do the rest. "

" That's all? " She sat back up, took the shivering little guy to her face and questioned.

" Yes host!" The furball was totally stiff, not daring to even look at its host's eyes.

It didn't know what specifically irked the host when it mentioned the soul allocation but sensing the chilly atmosphere around her, it rather not delve into it.

Seeing the system guide fear her, she can't help but sigh.

What could she expect from a dubious contract? Anyway, what's the worst thing that could happen right? Now that she thinks about it, she didn't feel any massive alterations within herself as she first anticipated. She only feels so carefree. That insouciant feeling of not even batting an eye even if the sky falls down, she likes it. So if they still want to dismantle her soul, just do it. Whatever, she doesn't care anymore.

She then tapped her index finger on the fur ball's head. A golden light appeared at the site where she touched it and vanished a second later.

She took her finger off and was presented by Halfsie's horrified look.

" Something? " She tilted her head and poked the cotton-like mass.

The system rigidly shook its head. It glanced at its innocent-looking host while trying hard to take in the shocking sight of her soul.

When it was created, the main system stored all the basic necessities for it to become a qualified system. The input to determine the plane's plot, the essential information of almost all things that exist, the ability to locate the heavenly beings, and most importantly, the capacity to grade an individual's evil status. It is equipped to detect the percentage of the person's evil value by two means, grading the aura and the color of the soul. Naturally, there are quantitative and qualitative means inherent to the system in order to analyze these two.

Basically, 0℅ evil won't emit any aura at all and the soul reflected will be transparent. It denotes purity.

The next is 25℅ which is a light yellow, 50℅ yellow, 75℅ orange, and 100℅ red, with a strong unpleasant aura. The higher the percentage, the more crimson the color, and the aura emitted can be described as oppressive and suffocating.

The system has an innate fear of the host and thought it was also the effect of the system binding her. Simply put, she is its boss. It merely thought she may have a 100℅ evil score so when it saw her soul it was terrified.

Her soul isn't crimson at all but pitch-black.
