Feast of Emotion part 2

When Eve and Judas arrived in City A, it was already past 10 in the evening.

She wanted to set off directly to the banquet venue but, Halfsie proposed she go to Sarien's home instead. It said that the festivity is almost over, and the hero is about to head home.

Wanting to finish the day's business soonest, she heeds the furball's advice.

Currently, they are in the lounge, waiting for Sarien's return.

( You said Sarien is coming back already but, why is he not here yet?) She asked the seemingly silent creature.

They've been waiting for almost half an hour, yet they fail to hear of the hero's return.

Halfsie: ...

Of course, it did approximate the hero's itinerary but failed to consider the perplexities in between. It was muddle-headed by its yearning to push its host to the hero's arms and have them bond like how Eve "bonded" with the villain.

In any case, it can't utter a proper excuse when facing Eve's scrutinizing gaze, as if she had seen all the calculations it had secretly made.

( Host, I calculated the time, but it seems I'm bad at Math.) It pathetically murmured.

Eve grunted, not voicing any criticism. In her heart, though, she added "bad in Math" under Halfsie's list of ineptitude. It's a way for her to track the limits of her system guide. So far, she had noted five things: ugly, can't spy beyond the located area, ugly, can't unlock everyone's plot, and lastly, bad in Math.

If Halfsie learns she listed "ugly" twice in her list, its fur may wither away as it weeps for justice.

It's a good thing the servants have served them enough pastry to distract her, sparing Halfsie to be ugly in peace.

After finishing the last plate of snacks, a bashful young voice muttered.

" Fairy sister, are you still hungry?" A little boy, with limpid eyes, asked.

" A little," Eve responded.

" Okay, wait for me!" He eagerly answered and trotted away.

Eve and Judas' gaze followed the little man who exited the room.

The lively radish is Sarien's younger brother- Aquillen. He is five years old, and at the moment, still kicking way past his bedtime.

He had also attended the banquet but retired earlier than his family. They sent him home to rest, but he rebelled and tried staying awake, waiting for his parents and older brother to arrive. Because he is a little ancestor in the villa, the servants dare not force him.

When Aquillen saw Eve, he recognized her as a fairy because of her appearance.

Eve's unique eye color, lustrous waist-length hair, coupled with her comfy-but-good-looking nightdress, courtesy of her Momtie, made her look like a fairytale character. In addition, the dashing Judas, with an exotic and stern expression, seems like her loyal guard. The preschooler is at the age where imagination is at the fullest and is easy to hoodwink. That is why the moment the fairy came into being, he was ecstatic, forgetting his parent's lifelong lesson of "stranger danger" and whatnot.

Naturally, the sloth was way too lazy to clarify. Not to mention, Aquillen was partly correct- she is a fairy. Hence, she let the boy think about what he wants.

" It seems he likes you a lot, Master," Judas commented. There is a soft smile on his lips.

" I can't blame him. I'm great." She naturally answered. As if people liking her is but a natural phenomenon. Yes, self-consciousness can be considered mythical for narcissistic beings.

He only chuckled since he can't refute her words.

Truthfully, his master is an odd person but, she is not hard to like. Everything she does is lovely. Though he can't be too sure if it applies to everyone else, what's wrong with that? He thinks he is gravely biased in her favor but, he will gladly be her number one loyal fan.

If the two golden thighs with the surname Tang could hear his declaration, they would refute him back to the third place. Of course, if a particular fanatic called Iris would acquiesce.

A few minutes later, the boy came back with a bunch of small plastic packs in his embrace.

" Fairy sister! These are for you! Try them. They are my favorite!" He poured the snacks on top of the couch the two sat on and began introducing the flavors.

" This one is chocolate!"

" This one is caramel!"

" Vanilla and strawberry."

He continuously chatted, happy to show his hoarded snack.

( What are these?) Eve asked the furball while examining the small packages. They are enclosed in a brown opaque container, not letting her see the content.

( Pudding, host.)

[ Pudding?]

She tilted her head, curious what it tasted. She has not tried a pudding before.

Just in time, the child offered her an opened cup.

" Fairy sister, you try it!"

She leisurely took it and sampled a bite.

For an entire five seconds, all her senses focused on her tastebuds-savoring the creamy and soft delight.

She didn't talk but finished the entire serving in one go.

Two pairs of eyes watched her every move. One is eager, and one is patient. After she consumed the content, she gently licked her lips and put the empty cup down.

She stared at the cute fellow before her and praised him.

" You're a good boy." Eve rubbed his hair and let out a serene smile.

Hearing her compliment made the boy elated. His laughter echoed in the room.

" Then fairy sister, can you be my sibling from now on? Sister?" Aquillen's eyes glittered, making him adorable.

Eve did not respond immediately because a vision flashed in her mind.

" Okay."

The gossiping furball was crouching in her mind, speculating she agreed in the name of snacks.

It wasn't wrong.

Eve liked the dessert and thought that since her guardian, Sarien, is generous to give her pastries all the time, then she surmised that his brother, Aquillen, is the same.

And, these are the kind of people she'd like to be acquainted with.

Moreover, when she heard Aquillen call her sister, she felt true delight bloom in her barren soul. She had never experience having a little brother before. Besides, in all her lives, her familial relationship always crumbles pathetically, not letting her feel what sibling affection is.

Myun and those elder brothers or sisters of her past lives were all-

stone-hearted.

She doesn't remember the despair they inflicted on her but, the memory of their nasty treatment towards her is clear as day. Nonetheless, she thinks the system binding her soul did the magic and erased her emotions regarding those interactions. She doesn't hurt anymore, but she remembers she endured those annoying feelings.

As a person changed by the contract, she became apathetic towards emotional entanglements and couldn't care less about many things.

It seems her sensible cells atrophied to dust or transformed into malignant, devil-may-care gossip cells. Also, the majority mutated into gluttonous cells. Maybe, somnolent cells too? She seriously contemplated.

If Halfsie could hear her wandering thoughts, it would hide its disdain and whisper in its breath, " Why not add lusty, psychotic cells too?" In the absence of the host's repeated abuse, the furball has grown quite delusional that its lifespan is naturally safe and sound.

" Then, sister, call me Aquillen." The boy's words hoisted Eve's consciousness.

Eve scrutinized Aquillen, who continuously addressed her sister and realized one thing.

She likes it- having an affectionate sibling.

She expected Iris would conceive her little brother soon but, that still needs time. Right now, there's one ready-made, sending himself on her door.

Eve doesn't wrong herself. Hence, when she recognized she likes having a brother, she agreed. It is one sincere yearning she has, yet she doesn't realize it.

" Aqui." Her curling lips were particularly gentle, as they bloom on her angelic face.

" Sister!" Aqui cheered. He is jubilant that even his eyes turned into crescents. The next moment, his movement stopped and said.

" Sister, I don't know your name yet."

" I am Eve."

" Sister Eve!" He embraced Eve with all his might, with his face buried on her stomach.

Cough*

Judas, who was silently watching their interaction, coughed upon seeing the boy's action.

[Isn't this too intimate?] He wanted to admonish Aquillen but froze when he saw Eve's expression.

It was his first time seeing Eve smile like that. Though he has seen her giggle and beam a lot of times before, her expressions at those times were off- it felt vague and distant, sometimes bordering malicious. It becomes prominent when she watches troublesome events or dangerous situations. He even thought she was like watching a play. She smiles like a person entertained by a performance.

Aquillen turned his head to glance at the loyal guard.

" That is Judas. He is my person." Eve introduced.

The boy nodded in Judas' direction, acting like a timid child once again.

Time passed by, and Judas soon noticed the two going upstairs. He chuckles, not minding being ousted by the newly recognized siblings. Eve is happy, and that's all that matters. Not to mention, the Lu villa is safe, nothing will happen to his master, and in case any accidents occur, he will run to her in a heartbeat.

He drank another cup of tea, perking his ears for any clue that needed his intervention.

***

Aqui dragged Eve to his room, proudly showcasing his collection of toys.

He is a lively chatterbox but turns into a serious little man as he discusses the good points of his toys.

Minutes later, the child exhausted his energy, and his eyelids gradually drooped.

Fortunately, he is already wearing his pajamas, ready to hit the bed.

Eve only needed to carry him for a short time to lay him onto the mattress.

That short time, however, was enough to exhaust her strength. In the end, she slumped beside Aqui, trying to recover her pathetic stamina.

She directly took a bar of chocolate and ate it in a few bites.

Glancing at the nearby clock, it was already nearing midnight, but Sarien has yet to come.

[ Should I wait in his room?] That idea popped her mind.

( Halfsie, how long until Sarien arrives?)

( Well, host, he's already boarding the car.) It almost squealed in excitement.

( How long until he reaches home?)

( Not long, not long! Host, how about you go and wait for him in his room? It's the last one on the left. It's not locked, and you can enter at ease.) The furball almost urged the host to make haste and barge into the hero's room. If feasible, she should climb his bed too. It wholeheartedly wants to pimp her to the hero.

( Okay.) Gaining enough energy, she rolled away from the bed.

In truth, she was curious about the hero's room.

For the villain Xaphael, his room is nearly monotonous and bare- only having the comfy bed, nightstand, and closet. Well, she hasn't gone to his bathroom yet, since he would always bathe her with those amorous eyes that paralyze her to the ground, unable to follow further. In short, the villain's room is of minimalist style, with walls painted in a plain light grey, perpetually depicting a perfect gloom to match his atmosphere.

[ That's it! I wanna see Sarien's room.] Her gossip cells reached a consensus.
