Interrogation

she sat there in front of the detectives trying to hold herself together the detectives were extremely anxious

"so you are saying that someone attacked you and it was his gun" the detective concluded

"yes sir"

"and you fought with him" the detective eyed her

"I have learned taekwondo"

"ah I see"

"but what proof do we have that it wasn't you"

"I saw the dead officer just when I came out in front of you I was unaware of it" she half screamed- trying to prove her innocence

"you were holding a gun and the man was killed with that exact gun"

"sir why don't you understand when I tell you that someone is out there and he is after me and Alex"

"Alex; Alex who"

"Alex rover" the detective found it unbelievable

"yes sir"

the detective ran a hand through his hair and sighed "is this some kind of a joke to you" he slammed the desk with his hand making Sarah flinch

"you can call him and ask it for yourself" Sarah confronted proudly she wasn't backing down

he pushed the telephone on his desk towards her"call him here"

she dialed the number and pulled the receiver to her ear with her handcuffed hands.

"yes " someone spoke on the other side

"Alex" Sarah spoke with anxiousness

"Sarah" he spoke with recognition

"umm" she drew in a breath "Alex.....can you come to the police station"

"what" he almost screamed "where....."

"p-police station"she said in a low voice chewing on her lips

"why are you there"

"I am arrested in accusation of murder"

"m-m-murder" his voice was stuck in his throat

"the gunman had attacked" she clarified

"gunman" he couldn't believe his ears

"can you help me" she whispered scared he might reject

"why do you keep pulling trouble along with you"he had cut the line with that

she placed the receiver back and looked at the detective "he is coming"

"so what does this person want from you why is he after you"he questioned

"how am I supposed to know"she shrugged she had decided to keep the truth a secret until she found the real truth something was definitely missing and to put the pieces together she had to get out of this situation

"then who else is supposed to know"

"he is after me since the day I came to Canada"

"when did you come"

"it's been more than a year now"

"Sarah" someone shouted entering the station

all heads had snapped up towards the speaker; it was Alex- he was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans and a pair of sneakers he was catching his breath.

"Mr Alex Rover" the detective stood up in respect

he bent his head down in assurance and looked at Sarah who was sitting on a chair hand cuffed

"do you know this girl"the detective asked

"yes she is my PA and friend"

"ah I see; so you know why she is here right" Alex nodded in reply

"but I would still need some details"

the detective and Sarah both gave their parts-she chose to skip the phone and heir part for until later- and he silently listened processing each word

"so you know the exact time when he was hit"he said thinking tapping a finger on his chin

"yes sir"

"so did you check Sarah's office CCTV footage of that time" he said with a proud tone

"the lights had fluctuated at the time of murder"

"than you can check the footage of five minutes before it takes at least 5 minutes to reach the ground floor from there when the lifts are working and as you said that lights had fluctuated i am guessing the lifts weren't working it would have taken her more than 5 minutes to go and shoot him'

Sarah was impressed by his intelligence she wanted to clap like a little girl does when getting a candy

"i am going to ask my man over there to immediately check" the detective got busy on the call and then returned after almost 15 min

"the footage is here" he said coming to the desk

finally, Sarah thought; that was quick

he placed his phone in the middle and started the clip

she was sitting on the desk and working on the files while jamming to the music in her ears everyone looked closely than she picked the files and left the office and that was it.; the footage was of around 9 'o' clock it was the prove that she was nowhere around the murder scene and the prove of her innocence but it still didn't prove anything about gunman

the detective looked up at them "it proves that you are innocent then I can't keep you here it would be wrong of me, I am letting you go but the investigation still goes on and if I need i will call you again"he said removing her handcuffs

"yes sir" she said in a polite tone that sounded grateful

"and one more thing" the detective stopped them in their way "if you want i can help you find that person who is after you"

"i will consider the offer" she left with that

she came back"sir can i know your name"she said to the detective

"Parker" he chuckled

"nice to meet you" she said increasing her hand

he took her hand and shook it" you too"

she was sure she might have to comeback here again as the gunman didn't seem like the one to settle down and she needed as many friends in Canada as much as she could manage to.

she was free but there was still too much left to know "who is Alex? and what is gunman's identity the questions continuously kept on nagging at the back of her head and it frustrated her to be in the dark not to have answers.

one thing was sure the gunman would strike again how when she didn't know but she was sure of it.
