The bride

The sky was in scatters of red and grey as trails of smoke rose from the burnings grounds below up to the sky. Almost appearing as if the smoke itself was guiding those lost souls to their new home.

Tears ran down her ash covered face as she clenched the skirts of her once beautiful white dress. Now torn and dirty with ash and dried blood. Her heart ached as she looked around the burning town.

Her raised subconsciously to clench her necklace as a cold fear rushed through her veins.

"Your highness." She muttered out of fear before running through the ash grounds. Eyes gazing straight ahead not to look at the bodies tossed on the ground like broken dolls. Raising into the castle grounds she rushed forward as she gazed around frantically. Her heart leaping as she heard a loud sound coming from the throne room. With a trembling heart she continued her path with silent players. It wasn't until she reached the open throne room doors that her heart dropped.

The once glorious throne room was nothing to compare to the shape it now was. The stain glass windows that once told the stories of the kingdom's ancestors was shattered. The scattered pieces The rows of marble pillars were cracked as if a great force had been thrown against them.

With a gasp her trembling hand raised up to her mouth as the swelling tears in her eyes came crashing down. Crimson blood dripped down the steps leading up to the throne. The sound of metal seemed to echoed in her ears as a silver gleaming sword was drawn out. Blood dripping off it as it left its victims body. The victim in a kneeling position remained upright as he placed his weight on his own sword. His face expressing no pain but rage as his body shook slightly. His eyes piercing up from his long strands of raven hair. Piercing up at the person standing before him.

If he was the dark the person before him was the light. Long strands of golden hair runing like silk down his back. Golden eyes staring down at him with a look of almost sorrow as the sword in his hand shook.

Hearing a sound he turned, his eyes widening in shook at the person standing at the door way. Tears streaming down her cheeks as she stared back at him with a broken expression. With unsteady steps she moved forward.

"Why?"

"I..." His voice traced off as lit arrows crashed threw the broken windows. The room quickly burned as the girl kneeled down in front of the raven hair man. With a trembling hand she cupped the side of his face.

"cold." She muttered tears streaming down her cheeks. This was the first time she was allowed this close. Being able to touch him like this. He would always be so far from her even now.

"come with me!" The Golden haired man yelled out to her turning a moment too late as she had taken the raven haired man's sword driving in straight through her heart.

"Anthea!"
