(I know I'm going to mess up Homelanders character, I just find it hard to write him, he seems to have no substance to me)
Within moments Maeve saw her manager at the edge of the crowd trying to get her attention.
"Well It looks like A-Train tried to run through something he never even had the right to look at," as she lightly smirks Maeve rises into the air, seeing her flying the crowd gasp and start to take pictures, then even more amazingly the white tiger leaps into the air and run to join Maeve.
As they head to Vought tower she senses Homelander following from a distance, something she was never able to do before, battle sense is awesome.
During this time Joel is playing stalker as he follows along wanting to see the people who control all this.
Finally entering her room from the outside Maeve flops on her sofa with the tiger at her feet, for the first time in years she feels happy, relaxed, and like life could be good again.
Without any knocking the door opens, and instantly the tiger has its claws at the neck of Madelyn Stillwell, one of the top executives of Vought.
Madelyn froze, "Maeve, call this thing off now." The tiger leaned in, pulling its lips back, "I am not a thing, meat, I am Saber."
Madelyn's face went pale as the Tiger turned around and went to lay back down at Maeve's feet.
Although Maeve was stunned, she hid it well and was more excited than anything else.
Madelyn walked into the room and sat in a single sofa chair, "I came to find out what happened before."
"Is Homelander going to float outside there, or is he coming in to listen as well?"
After a minute the widow Maeve used before opened and Homelander hovered in, looking angry and frustrated.
"Forget it, you no longer stand a chance. And the sad thing is I am not the strongest one on the planet, hope your ego can deal with it."
Homelander clenched his fists as his eyes turned red, he suddenly heard a gasp from Madelyn and followed her gaze, less than an inch from his stomach a pair of deadly claws hovered, "You're slow, meat."
Unsure when Saber reappeared at Maeve's feet.
"I was not insulting you, it's a fact. When I was mortal I could not see it, I think we deny the possibility they exist so we do not feel small. They exist, and he made me one of them. Do you think the power you have is great? You have no idea what I am feeling running through every cell in my body."
"Are you saying some kind of God made you a god as well? Why, to be his wife?" Madelyn asked.
"No, as I understood it he was going to erase us, but thought it would be fun to make me a god and see if I can make it worth saving."
Finally, Homelander spoke, "Then why you? I am stronger!"
Maeve sighed, "Do you think that mattered? When he could easily make me this strong. His choice had nothing to do with physical strength."
The room went black, and only Maeve and Saber remained calm, in front of everyone scenes started playing out.
Showing Homelander as a child killing countless female tutors, he hugged a woman using far too much strength, breaking her spine and instantly killing her. Another scene with a much older Homelander where he used heat vision to heat up a gun, causing it to explode, killing a hostage and destroying the man's hand. When the man's associate started screaming at him, Homelander lost his mind and clamped his hand over her mouth, accidentally ripping out her jaw. This led to the hostages screaming at him and calling him a monster, resulting in him killing everybody in a fit of rage.
Suddenly they found themselves back in the room, "Well then, there you go, I just showed you why you failed, although I never knew those things myself actually," Maeve added, a little unnerved as to what she had seen.
Madelyn was mumbling about being able to make it work, Maeve sighed, "Look I am not going to pretend to know what he wants, but after what we just saw I am thinking he at least wants us to clean up our act.
He never mentioned the heroes being commodities, so I am thinking he did not care about it, it was more heroes doing crap that you expect from villains."
Madelyn nodded, "They clean up their acts or you handle them, we can have you as the visible overseer of the heroes. We give them a heads up to clean up their act, it will save a lot on bribes if they do, if not you judge them, I mean you are a god now, and we get more positive PR," you could see her gears working overtime.
"If you unsure, ask him, meat."
Maeve looks down to Saber, "You mean he is here, Madelyn can speak to him?"
"You are here, so he is here," Saber says with a snort.
Maeve clears her throat, "Lord Paragon, could we please speak to you? If you not busy I mean."
"Sure," his voice comes from right beside Maeve as all but Saber jumps. "What? You asked to speak to me."
Madelyn mumbles about expecting something more, "Oh, you want me to descend, I thought you just needed to talk."
Maeve jumped in, "No no, talking it fine, no descending please," she sends Madelyn a warning glance.
"I was just wondering what you wanted from me, from us?" Maeve asked.
"Simple, make this world worth keeping. I am the God of all Awakened, that is anyone with any ability, even those who have not awoken their ability yet. And you are contaminating me, it would require a moment for me to remove the human race and give another one the chance to awaken, but I saw some hope in you Maggie, I was also bored, so there you go."
"So the problem is not the commercialization, but heroes acting like villains?"
Joel nods, "You see, I am literally the Alpha and the Omega, and positivity and peace fuels the Alpha, and I am sure you can figure out the Omega, currently the Omega is being flooded." (In case you never figured it out, his is lying. This is all just for fun)
"So if the heroes actually were heroes it would balance them, and then no need for a replacement?" Madelyn clarified.
"Yes, and you might want to avoid using him, he is the pure villain. I mean he is still planning on killing the Mayor of Baltimore and his kid."
Both women turn to face Homelander who seems lost for words.
"Want me to remove his powers? One time offer, his body will be unable to accept any powers ever again."
Homelander panicked as he turned to look at the woman pleadingly while searching for an exit.
Madelyn nodded, this was best for the company, they would promote Maeve and Homelander would never be able to tolerate it, and this would avoid future issues.
"Done."
"What?" Homelander stood there, no one knew what he was trying to do but he kept staring at Joel.
"His right, I felt a vague threat from him, but now there is nothing," Maeve confirmed as Homelander seemed to mentally collapse.
For Madelyn this was confirmation, she was dealing with someone who at the very least could pass for a god.
