Chapter 82

When the weekend came, Isuru and I took a long train ride to his hometown. We spent most of the travel time talking about the place. He seemed pretty happy talking about it.

"It's a seaside town with nice people. You'll love it there," said Isuru.

When we arrived, word of his visit apparently spread that some townspeople gathered to greet us at the train station. After spending some time talking to them and catching up on their lives, we walked towards the town's cemetery where his sister was buried. I followed behind him as we climbed up a hill.

Isuru stopped in front of a gravestone and bent down in front of it. He began saying something, which I couldn't hear properly. He must have told her about the death of their father or about Mako.

"Cho, come here for a bit," said Isuru.

I followed.

"This is Cho. My girlfriend."

I smiled shyly. "Hello. I'm Cho. Nice to meet you."

I felt a light breeze. Maybe she was saying hi back.
