Chapter 3

Tequila's POV

"Come here." He murmurs as I rinse my mouth, and I slap his hands away.

"Ace no, I just— I just brushed my teeth!" I defend as he pulls me into him anyway, his hands low on my butt.

"I just want to hold my baby." He smiles and I narrow my eyes.

"You're not lying and trying to kiss me to death are you?"

"Would you like me to kiss you to death?" He asks lowly, leaning in and my breath hitches.

"I-I—" but he doesn't wait, capturing my lips with his. He's slow and soft taking his time as I let in him. I groan as he explores my mouth and I grip the roots of his hair resulting in a throaty growl, to which I feel something pressing against my stomach. My eyes pop open as I release his mouth, a flush creeping my throat as I clear it and he smirks.

"You've done a lot more than just feel it, why so shy now?"

"Shut up you ogre." I smack his hands and he grins. "We're going to be late." I sigh, running a hand through my hair and he shrugs.

"Lead the way princess."

"I'm not a princess." I scoff flipping my hair, before walking out but not before I add. "I'm a Queen."

"That you are baby" He chuckles.

"Remember when Antonio threw up on you?" The frog speaks up as we eat creamy pasta with strips of chicken. "It was all white and chunky. It smelled terrible too." I drop my fork, losing my appetite while scratching my forehead.

"So Helga." I nearly snot at her name. "How did you two meet?"

"Tell her Ace." She grins, inching closer to Ace and I notice how he stiffens a bit

"I can't remember honestly." He shrugs, drinking from his water and her face falls, but she quickly covers it up with a laugh.

"Your dad introduced us, remember?"

"Oh. Right right." This is awkward.

"When did you two get married."

"On—"

"December 16, 2014." Ace speaks up before me and I grin.

"What he said." He winks at me and I do the same.

"We go a long way back, don't we Ace."? She persists and I honestly wish she could take a hint.

"I guess we do."

"Anything else?" The waitress returns and I perk up.

Finally, more food.

"I want to try the chocolate ice cream. . ."

"I'd like the wine sizzled carrots." The waitress blinks at her before giving her a weird look turning to Ace.

"Just the Vanilla ice cream is fine." She nods before walking up and I look, clearly uninterested, at the door as Helga continues talking.

Ace squeezes my hand from under the table and I know he's reading my mind

A sis gone die tonight if she moves any closer to my man.

Mark my words.

"She's crazy!" Helga screams as Ace pulls me away.

I told you.

"And you're disrespectful!" I yell back, laughing as the ice cream drips down her face.

"Babe." Ace groans and I narrow my eyes at him.

"You are degrading yourself, just touching a married man like that, while his wife is in the same room as you, do you want to spend the night at the hospital boo? You already can't find a home might as well get it free where you can."

"How do you deal with this big-mouthed b?tch Ace?" She shoots me a smug look and I grab the nearest thing, sending it at her.

The item shatters on the floor, missing her by an inch.

"That's enough Helga,?don't?try to put down my wife."

"I need you all to leave." A scared-looking man says and I raise both my hands, walking out.

"Really Tequila?"

"Hey. Blame your little friend, she? hit me first." I cross my arms.

"Her spoon fell on you!"

"That's what she wanted us to think. Do I look like booboo the fool to you?" Helga storms passed us, into the vehicle and I nearly pull her hair out.

Ace sighs, pulling me into him and I huff.

"You are so cute." He murmurs and I snort.

"Really? I almost drowned a woman in ice cream and I'm cute?"

"And beautiful." He kisses my forehead. "And bold." He kisses my cheek. "Feisty." He kisses my nose. "And mine." He pecks my lips and I snuggle into him even more. "Feeling better."

"Somewhat," I mutter. Although I was feeling better than...? .yknow. . . better.

"I love you, baby."

"Same here frog."

"You sure know how to ruin moments you nanny goat."

Sadly, we had to let Helga stay in the house for some unknown reason. I could've provided her with cardboard to sleep outside but Ace said no so.

Padding into the kitchen, she sat on the stool. I murmured a respectful good morning and she replied.

But you know? There was a problem.

That 'good morning was too smug. Turning, I eye her suspiciously, before my eyes landed on the pancakes that I had Ace make me so that I could preheat.

And you know what's even worse? She knew my name was on it.

That's going to be an issue. Never mess with my food.
