"Joe, what's taking so long?"
I jerked, surprised by Kisten's shout, and drizzled chocolate on the counter."Shit, really?" I frowned at the spill, wiping it up with my sleeve before I went back to drizzling chocolate where it belonged- on the popcorn.
"Hey, come on, we're going to be late!" Kisten's voice was louder and clearer; we'd been through this enough times that I knew he was leaning against the fridge with a pout on his face.
My suspicions were confirmed when I turned around with the tray in my hands."It'll go faster if you move out of my way- I need to put this in the freezer."
"Oh, so we're almost done?" Kisten asked eagerly.
I swatted him with the overlong sleeve of the sweater I was wearing- his sweater, since I couldn't be bothered to find one of my own that morning."Shush. You're the one who insisted we bring something to this stupid party thing anyways. I didn't even want to go."
