"I love you, okay?" she kissed his forehead and he muttered something before pulling away from her. He rested on his side and tears danced in her eyes. It had been two months since he last told her that he loved her.
Rey jumped out of bed and walked to the veranda. She smiled when she remembered how many times Vladimir had taken her in the same place. She let out a sigh and hugged herself, tears falling down her eyes. She felt lost because Vladimir had lost hope. He was killing her hope and she wanted to put a bullet through his kneecaps but she couldn't.
She felt like she had lost him. His surgery was in a few days and he had been responding to the drugs well. She couldn't understand what made him so sure that he wouldn't survive. She couldn't …no…she would not let herself survive if he didn't make it.
