Eric watched Rey walk back and forth like she had been doing for hours. Many many hours.


They were the only ones on the floor, all thanks to Rey.


"Sit down for a few minutes, Rey" he offered softly and she shook her head, combing her fingers through her braids.


Vladimir was in surgery and he probably wouldn't be out for a few more?many?hours. Eric hoped he would be able to at least talk to Rey but she had barely glanced at him since Vlad had invited him to come with them.


"Just a few minutes, okay?" He offered again and his eyes raked over her body. He inhaled as she walked towards him, reminding him that she wasn't his. She could never be.


Rey settled next to Eric and her eyes watered but the tears never dropped. She inhaled and gripped the arms of the seat tight. Eric froze and wild thoughts ran through his head.


"Why are you still with him though?" He blurted our and Rey raised a brow, turning to Eric.
