Chapter 13

Cecil shifted closer to the edge of the wall, stretching her head out. Hana stood beside Cecil, her hands behind her back, her eyes wide as she switched back and forth between Cecil and the alleyway.

"Cecil, isn't it bad to eavesdrop?" Hana whispered and Cecil hushed her.

"But it's bad!"

"It is imperative that I listen in!" Cecil hissed back, somehow maintaining her arrogant facade.

"Imperative? Ohhh, it's important?"

Cecil pressed her finger onto Hana's lips, sneaking a peek at the two men. They were standing opposite one another, Xue leaning on the wall as he crossed his arms. Meanwhile, Kai looked at his feet, kicking it lightly.

"...you really have no memories of me, don't you?" Xue asked, his face impassive.

Kai paused, looking up. "No, do I need to know you?"

"No."

"...and can I just say, you looking somewhat like me is creepy."

"Indeed." Xue agreed, nodding his head.
