All she could do was stroke his head and pat on his back, offering him some comforting words.
"You did well."
"I'm...tired."
"Go rest now, Shin."
He nodded with her head still buried in her shoulders, and Shin retreated back into his abode. He allowed Xue to take back his rightful place and once Xue was out, he withdrew from the hug and glanced down at Cecil.
His tears were still flowing out, but Xue's expression was impassive.
"Did he make the right decision?" Xue questioned, a hint of desperation in his voice. "Did I...make the right decision?"
"Xue..." Cecil smiled sadly, pulling back and reaching her hand out to wipe away a stray tear. "I don't know if it's right or wrong, and no one will. Not even you."
"...I know."
