'The rumors were true.' Neodelle said to himself as he stared at Scarlet who stepped forward, she jumped down and with no problem, landed perfectly fine and steadily as if the wall wasn't as tall enough to kill a normal person.
'She really has that red and fire-like long hair… Those scarlet eyes that can pierce through your soul. Her energy is also not a joke here. She even surpassed headmaster Gordon.'
The black boots that Scarlet was wearing silently stepped forward toward the direction where the class is.
The white long sleeve of her clothes concealed the slightest sight of the tip of her fingers as well as her cloak's collar ended below her pair of scarlet orbs, concealing the sight of her nose and lips.
Her hair was like an alive fire that can burn anything that would come in contact.
"I see you came here earlier."
Her cold voice which is completely a contrast to her picture made the students in front of her shiver.
'She's truly intimidating and scary.' Lily thought as she kept on staring at the scary and intimidating person in front of her.
"O-Official Executer Scarlet." Theodore stuttered and bowed to give her a proper greeting. "It is a pleasure to meet you." The latter did the same and gave her the same greeting that Theodore did but a Scarlet wasn't pleased nor grateful with what they did.
"Rather than bowing, I would like you to keep in mind to stand firmly instead." The ten students immediately stopped and looked at Scarlet who was'nt sharing any expressions. "Dare to bow again and I shall cut your heads off your bodies."
Vantel and Aaron took a heavy breath to calm themselves. They are aware that she can do it in just a second.
Even without doing anything, Scarlet did cut their tongues off by her mere presence.
The wind suddenly blows in their direction and from the trees behind them, some leaves flew to their direction. Then intently watched how a leaf came in contact with Scarlet's hair and gulped when the leaf was burned at the moment it came in contact with her hair.
"I had received much news about your class." Scarlet talked, still has her cold and intimidating voice. "You took care of a rampaging elf three years ago, a bunch of witches from two years ago as well as an unidentified monster. You all killed a mage who turned himself into a beast for revenge and even took care of two hundred orcs as well as some high orcs mixed with those." She set out the things that she heard from them. "Aren't you a powerful bunch?"
'You're even scarier than us, though!' Lily screamed inside her head.
"And a new student… Violet." Scarlet's eyes went and looked at the lady covered in bandages who she knows was looking at her too. "…Added more power to your group. Am I even needed in this institute?"
The class was surprised by her last question. "We are nothing compared to you, Miss Scarlet." Vezkud said.
"It's good that you are aware."
The class became speechless for they didn't expect her reply.
"For a week…" Scarlet turned her back against them, starting to walk away after a short interaction between her and the class that she would be meeting anytime sooner. "I will be taking charge of your physical tests. There will be a serious punishment to those who will fail."
In her last word. Her body started to fade as a fire crawled to her as if it was eating her body away. She left the class who have their jaws dropped and were dumbfounded at the unexpected announcement which Scarlet herself made.
She?
The great Scarlet who overpowered their headmaster Gordon? Will take over their physical tests?
"Hey… tell me." Virgo managed to break the silence in their class despite the shock that she got as the cold wind continuously pass by them. "Are we gonna die in that week?"
"Ha…" Brain was still out of himself, looking left and right without a particular action that he would do, like an adventurer who was lost. "I…I need to go back. I should start praying for my life."
"Include me in that prayer of yours." Vezkud said and shook his head, trying to get over the last sentence that Scarlet said to them.
Lily, who was looking desperate went to Brain and pulled his collar. "Don't be selfish! You know that we all need to pray for our lives! Include us too!" She repeatedly shook Brian's shoulder
When they all started to become fine, they managed to talk to each other again after the bomb that Scarlet sent to them.
They started to talk about how they felt when Scarlet showed herself up and as Neodelle laughed at Vezkud's joke, he noticed how Violet was already walking away from them.
'She's leaving without a word.'
For the next two days, everyone got up from their bed earlier than they usually do and started to exercise which they don't usually do too.
The day marks as the start of the week for their physical test. As what was said to them, Scarlet would be handling them and that thought alone made them nervous and serious.
After seeing Scarlet in person, her mere presence screamed danger and it was no wonder why Gordon chose her to be the Official Executer of Althea. There would be no one who could escape from her grasp as soon as she holds the authority to kill them. Even the fastest runner in the world might be no problem for her.
"Where's Brian?" Vezkud asked when he noticed that one of them was missing. All of them were having breakfast except for Brian who was nowhere to be seen.
"He's in his room. He said he'll pray for our lives." Vantel said and took a big bite on his sandwich.
"Plot twist: he'll die first." Violet said that resulted in a burst of laughter while the others choked on their food.
"Don't jinx him, Violet." Theodore said, coughing after he choke on his food because of what Violet said.
"These days, you've been awfully quiet." Virgo said and looked beside her where Violet was sitting. "Are you still recovering from the shock of Scarlet's presence?"
"That might be it." Violet shrugged and the latter didn't mind her afterward. They continued to eat and rested for a while before they would face an intimidating entity again.
They came inside their practice room ten minutes earlier than what is scheduled and looked around the room where their physical test would be held in just a matter of minutes from now.
They were already changed into their clothes where they could freely move around and Brian was already with them as he already finished praying for their lives.
"There's a name here." Vantel said and pointed at the bench on the south side of the room. "It says, 'Delora'."
Delora tilted her head after she was mentioned. "Is it the place where I would sit?"
"I can see Vezkud's name on the bench at the west side," Virgo said as her eyes turn into a greenish color. "The other benches also have names written on them too."
The four walls of the room had some rows of benches placed for the audience despite the small number of students using it. The east side was for Brian, Vantel and Lily; west side for Theodore, Vezkud and Virgo; south for Delora and Neodelle while the north was for Violet and Aaron.
They went to their respective seats and waited for the hand clock to point at the time which would mark the start of their test.
When the hand clock pointed at the number of one, Scarlet slowly showed up like she was reversed from the fire in the center of the wide room.
She wasn't wearing her thick coat like before and she was wearing the same clothes under her cloak from that night. She was wearing a gray fitted top with a long wide sleeve that concealed her shoulders down to the tip of her fingers as it ends past her hands. Her black pants were paired with a pair of combat boots and she was wearing a mask that was connected to her collar which covers half of her face and neck.
Her hair was still like a living fire that ends around her knees while her scarlet orbs watched the room with no shade of emotions at all.
They all attentively stood up firmly and placed their hands behind them. "Good afternoon, Miss Scarlet." They all greeted in unison.
"Drop the 'Miss' off. It's making me sick." As always, Scarlet never failed to get them off guard just by the small things. A pile of red papers suddenly appeared in front of each of them like how Scarlet's letters were delivered to them. "Let's start now with Brian."
Surprised by the sudden start without a single greeting or good luck from her they couldn't help but to pity how Brian was first chosen by Scarlet after eagerly praying for their lives.
Meanwhile, Brian's soul almost left his body after she mentioned his name.
On the verge of fainting, he had a quick flashback of how he prayed, with no fail, for his name not to be mentioned first.
"In the count of three…" Her warning sent shivers down their spine as Brian immediately took his soul inside him again and ran towards Scarlet, almost stumbling at the process, and successfully arrived without her, counting down the numbers that may lead him to his death.
"Present!" He said with such bravery and stood in front of her firmly just like what she instructed them to do before but with Scarlet's examining stare, he began to sweat as his bravery starts to dematerialize into thin air.
"Sudden actions and loud noises, harsh movements yet you have good control of your core. Not surprising for a warrior." Scarlet commented without any hint of amazement at all. "What's your skill that requires most of your power?"
Brian got caught off guard. He tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows. 'I won't fight her or dummies for the physical test?"
"I am asking you." Scarlet gave a warning tone.
Brian flinched and fixed his posture. He stood firmly and answered her question. "The skill you've asked for is what I call 'Hell Break'. It allows me to open the ground around me for within a hundred meters wide but it requires me eighty percent of my magical power."
His classmates' jaws dropped and looked at him with wide eyes.
They never thought that he could create a wide and large opening like a gateway to hell. They never thought that he had such skill that could wipe the orcs out with one go.
Scarlet's eyebrow went up, "Are you aware of the things you are lacking?" She asked with her signature cold voice.
"N-no?"
She gazed at him dangerously. "Ma'am, no ma'am." She directed.
"M-MA'AM, NO MA'AM." The remaining students facepalmed on how openly scared Brian was.
Although it was embarrassing, the guys looked away and covered their mouths as they contain their laughter. They find it hilarious how Brian looked like a scared bunny trying to be brave in front of a predator.
"Tomorrow at three in the afternoon, I will accompany you as you ambush the lair of orcs in the south." Scarlet said.
All heads turned to her. They were surprised at what she said to Brian who was dumbfounded.
"What you lack is experience. The higher experience the greater improvement it does to your muscles and power. While attacking, you improve your stance and posture. The higher experience, the higher possibility to use your 'hell break' like a skill that requires half percent of your energy instead." Scarlet explained and wrote down something on the paper she was holding. "Continuously doing so even after graduating will give you results but not entirely."
She continued. "As you take your time watching the rest, fill that paper with the answers that it needs. That's all." A paper appeared in front of Brian who caught it and blinked a couple of times.
'Is this real? I got to live?'
"Next. Neodelle."
The unexpected first day of their physical test from the Official Executer continued and no fight nor spar happened. It created a question mark on each one of them but at the same time, they felt relieved.
"Violet."
Pair of eyes followed their new classmates as she walks towards Scarlet who was looking at her intently. She stood firmly in front of Scarlet and stayed silent until the woman asked her.
"Skill that requires most of your magic?" Scarlet asked with the short version of her question. She grew tired of asking such a long sentence for almost ten times.
Without any hesitation, Violet answered. "Limitless."
Neodelle's eyebrow arced up. 'Limitless, huh?' After hearing the rest of their classmates' skill, he believes that nothing can surprise him anymore.
"Explain."
"With that skill, I can pull meteorites or anything from the space down here." Violet casually said as the girls gasped at the same time. "Wort case scenario, I could even pull a planet to another one."
Neodelle blinked. 'Is that… serious?' He was proven wrong as he heard her skill.
"Why don't you try it?"
The class looked at the executioner with wide eyes. 'Is she out of her mind? Does she want the world to end?' They thought but Scarlet's eyes show no hint of joking.
After a competitive staring competition between them which only the two know, Violet talked. "I can always make a serious damage." Violet raised her chin, proving her confidence in her words. "But I can't always fix the damages done."
