Fires and Snow

"How long would you stay here? You can go back to your room."

Neodelle didn't mind his brother's question and stared at a book about medicine that he saw in the chamber.

Ezekiel scratched his head. "Neodelle."

"The floor is quiet. I can't bear it so I would rather be here." He said, using the same answer that he would use against the other Rioden that he thought was Violet's real cousins.

Ezekiel took a seat on a sofa placed in the chamber. "Okay, let's say you can't bear how quiet it is but you can go back to the kingdom, brother."

"Father banned me, remember?"

"I asked him to lift it. I asked him to send a carriage for you."

Neodelle faced his brother, his forehead creased. "You did what?"

"Anytime, the carriage would be here and fetch you so I would ask you to pack your things up. You'll be attending the new year's Ball."

"You can't be serious. I don't want to go back to the Kingdom."
