The Dark Side

I didn't notice the darker area of Harlin forest, the faint shadows that lurked around. There was deep green weeping trees, all types of lilies, an unnatural dark aura of temptation and curiosity, kind bald cypresses, and a transparent river that connected to the dark lake. It looked magical and bright, as if a person put a filter to their photo. It looked nothing like the rest of the Harlin forest, the forest I knew had Coast Douglass firs, mossy floors, a never ending fog, and safe feeling and welcome from the trees.

I went into the mysterious side of the forest, the different lilies felt as if they were trying to grab me. The weeping trees looked as if they were warning me or telling me to flee, why? I continued to walk into the unknown, my curiosity was stirring. I didn't notice that I was deep into this forest I knew nothing of. I could almost see a light at the end of the river, I can only wonder what was there. Then I felt something grab my arm, my eyes covered by the leave of the trees, brought down to the ground the tiger lilies held me down. What the hell was happening?! Then I smelled a minty air come toward me, where did it come from? A soft warm breath near my nose, I couldn't see anything because my eyes were still covered by the vines of the weeping trees.

What was this thing I felt, then I realized all the possibilities. What if it was an animal!? Am I going to die!? No! I can't, what if it's a cannibal! Oh god, who will take care of grandma Teddy if I die?! I cannot die! My adrenaline kicked in, I don't have the right to die tonight! For grandma Teddy I must fight back! I started to fight my way of the lilies grip, I managed to free myself of the lily on my right leg! Great! That means I can win! Then I heard a shriek, so painful and hurt, what was it? The thought left as fast as it came, I continued to wrestle my left arm out! The longer I continued the louder the cry grew, eventually I heard a sound of sprinting into the distance. The lilies had left go, the vines grew weak and let my eyes go. I got up and ran as fast as possible from the forest!

I ran so fast, that I couldn't feel the weight of my body slowing me down. I ran past the weeping trees, all the lilies, the crystal like river and didn't stop. I continued to run as fast as possible, I passed the lake and made sure I left Harlin forest. No way was I going to let whatever the fuck grabbed me catch me again, no way! The moon had grew dark, it wasn't as alluring as it was when I came here. It looked angry, vicious, yet hurt. I finally made it home, the front door was unlocked and grandma Teddy was asleep, thank the gods. Shit. That was frightening. I slumped down on the coach, I pushed my head back in relief, I was safe. I then looked down to my feet, damn I was bleeding on my right ankle. The fuck?! How did I not notice!? D-D-D-Did I mention I have...hemophobia? I passed out on the couch.... Lucky, after a couple hours I grew....just a bit of conscious. It looked as if it was around five in the morning, the night looked dark but not dark? If that makes any sense, it looked brighter. It was quite chilly, I could see fog outside from the window next to the coach. The living room looked the same, there was still the hallway from the door, the baby blue walls all over, framed flowers, pots of dandelions, grandma Teddy's old TV in the center, the small rusty brown coffee between the couch and TV, and there was still the thin white curtains on the sliding door to grandma Teddy's garden. Then I saw something that I will never forget. Who was this... girl like creature in front of me? As soon I was about to see through her long white wavy hair, it looked so soft, I blacked out. Ugh.
