Chapter Four

Jimin POV

I hadn't realized I had fallen asleep until I was being woken up by Taehyung as he bounded into the main living room in his socks. I was laid out on the couch playing on my phone just a second ago, but clearly I had dozed off. I had a soft blanket pulled over myself and the fire was keeping the space warm. Everyone else was either in their rooms relaxing or quietly talking in the kitchen. Taehyung plopped down on the couch by my feet and set his feet across my legs, leaning back into the cushions. Jungkook was on his stomach on the other couch with his headphones on watching a movie.

"What's going on?" I yawned and stretched my arms over my head. The soft couch and blanket were trying to pull me back to sleep.

"Just relaxing. Jin is packing stuff for tomorrow." Tae yawned as well.

"Stuff? Like what?"

"Water bottles, lighters, snacks, just random stuff basically." He said and closed his eyes, leaning his head back into the couch's armrest. I followed his lead and closed my eyes as well, sighing and enjoyed the blankets.

Namjoon POV

My watch read nearly 9 at night, and both Taehyung and Jimin were still fast asleep on the couch. Dinner had since been made, and everyone else had eaten but those two. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to convince either to wake up and eat. So be it I guess. They'll wake up when they're hungry. I headed towards my shared bedroom with Jungkook, the kid drowsy as he fumbled into the room and threw himself onto the bed. When he didn't move to correct his position, which was face down sideways on the bed, I moved over to help get him under the blankets. I was tired, but also excited for tomorrow. I would be waking everyone up early for our hiking trip. I had even packed each of us a little backpack with essential things to bring, like water, snacks, and a lighter at least.

"Joon, the light…" Jungkook slurred even as I flicked it out. There was a sigh of relief and then silence. I got into my bed and pulled the covers over my head. I enjoyed the quiet for a moment. We were always so busy normally, it felt strange to be in a quiet room. To relax and feel safe for once. I closed my eyes and slowed my breathing, relishing in the warmth.

Taehyung POV

I was pulled from my sleep by a hard push straight into my ribs. I opened my eyes blearily and looked around confused. The room was pitch black except for a tiny spot of light where the coals of the fire glowed. Again, there was something shoving against me and it suddenly completely flipped over. Tangled in blankets and dazed, I finally made out Jimin's sleeping form under me. He was now on his back and I was nearly on top of him, my head wedged between his collar bone and armrest. Both of our blankets had become untangled and we were in a large pile of warmth. I closed my eyes, not even caring, and lay my head back down, wanting to get back to sleep. I noticed I could hear Jimin's slow and calm heartbeat and counted with the rhythm, feeling myself drift away again.

The second time I was brought back to consciousness wasn't from Jimin's tossing and turning, but from a noise. A low growling, and strange noise. I didn't open my eyes but listened carefully, thinking maybe there was a bear out in the woods nearby. I was still on the couch with Jimin, but was now laid out across his chest. The room was almost silent except for the fire and Jimin's soft breathing. Then I heard the noise again, and realized that it was actually coming from Jimin's stomach. He shifted in his sleep, rolling onto his right side and making me fall towards the back of the couch. Now uncomfortable, I tried to move onto my right side as well.

"Damnit." I muttered under my breath and tried to pull the blanket back up over myself. The slight noise woke Jimin and he pushed himself up into a semi sitting position.

"What happened?" He whispered, looking around the dark room. "What time is it?"

"I don't know, probably late." I said and also sat up. I stretched my arms and cracked my back. I hadn't realized how stiff I was after sleeping on top of someone else. Jimin was still out of it and not thinking straight.

"Where are we?" He tried to stand but realized his legs were still wrapped up in our blankets. I reached out and grabbed his shoulder before he tripped.

"The log cabin still, Jiminie." I said and rubbed his back in small circles. He rubbed his eyes and leaned his hands on his knees, his head down as he focused on my small movements. "You alright?" He nodded slowly and then looked up at the fireplace still burning.

"I'm hungry." He said and glanced back at me. It was as if a switch got thrown and I was suddenly hungry too. "I don't think we ate dinner."

"No, I don't think we did. I'm hungry too." I admitted and he looked over at the kitchen.

"Do you think there's still some left?"

"Maybe, doesn't hurt to check." I stood and pulled the blankets off myself. Jimin followed me into the kitchen quietly as I opened the fridge. Sure enough, there were two plates of food still sitting inside, clearly meant for us. Namjoon and Jin, bless their hearts. I grabbed both and set them on the countertop. Jimin sat at the table, bringing his knees up to his chest and leaning his chin on them. I warmed them up in the microwave and sat down with him. We ate quickly, just realizing how hungry we really were. Maybe that was why Jimin was tossing and turning so much.

We sat for a moment, taking the time to relax on the couch, our drowsy minds made even foggier by our full bellies. I wanted to move to our real beds, that way we could both sleep properly. I really didn't want another elbow to the ribs. I forced myself to stand and Jimin watched me with hazy eyes.

"Come on, we have a room and beds." I said and he stood slowly. We padded towards the bedroom, dragging our blankets behind us, and already half asleep. Jimin dropped onto his bed with a groan and I landed face first into my pillows. I don't even remember getting under the covers.
