Space Museum

Ever since the President gave him the not so subtle glance, he couldn't help but think about it constantly. He had no idea about the people of Lysserix, and he wondered what if the president could tell what he was? What if he was immune to the effects of the technology that changed his appearance. The further he walked the further his anticipation increased. He wanted to learn about their physiology as soon as possible but it wasn't really possible while walking in this huge crowd he was a part of.

"What are you doing now"? Xander, who jumped out from behind him, asked. A bit startled he replied, "Nothing special".

"Great"! Xander beamed before dragging him along to another building on their way back. Kaze tried to resist, which he could have easily accomplished given their marked differences of strength, but he was also curious as to where he wants to take him and thus let him drag him.

They arrived at a gate where it was written in giant fonts-

☆☆SPACE MUSEUM☆☆

Museum is a word he wasn't aware of which is why as soon as he dragged him in there he typed it out on his phone to ask ZIA. Xander left him alone to wander off in the building and told him to meet him at the gate exactly in an hour. While the museum wasn't exactly for everyone, it wasn't quite restricted for the candidates either.

"A museum is an institution that cares for (conserves) a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance". ZIA informed him.

Intrigued by the chance to see a collection of valuables he walked into the corridor full of exhibits. The first floor was filled with the history of earth and its venture into the space. Being a fast learner he memorised each and everything that was displayed on the wall.

For example, the very first establishment for the space exploration and the beginning of venture into the world beyond earth. There were also a lot of details on NASA, which was later merged with the department of Extraterrestrial Sciences and became an international organization altogether and came to be known as IAEA.

The history was detailed and fascinating in its own nature and far more intricate than the history of exploration he learned on his planet. At the end of the corridor there was a tiny model of their solar system. He was starting to feel that maybe this planet was way more lively that his own after all, which would explain why the humans get so hyped up about tiniest of issues.

After he was done with the first floor he took the stairs to the second floor. The stairs were present in the middle of the circular building and were spiral in nature. On the second floor it was the exhibits of alien species known to them. There were around fifty different species with various size and forms that was present there. After almost completing the circle he fumbled upon a picture of his own lifeforms which was labeled as "Zimerians :Planet Caisseus".

So they knew about them even though not so briefly. He read the article attached to it with utmost attention to find out that Zimerians arrived in their planet around 2100s and were one of the first ones to arrive. Unfortunately before they could negotiate and find out more about them they perished. After a careful autopsy it was hypothesized that high amounts of oxygen was toxic to them and thus resulted in their demise.

So it was true then? Not an error in their data collection or any sort of manipulation of data for deplorable reasons. Then why was he still alive? Did his species evolve into something else, something not so vulnerable to oxygen in those 125 earth years. The data was limited and thus there was not much to read, however at the end it was written that they managed to petrify one of the bodies which was stored on the topmost floor along with the other specimens from space.

Skipping the following exhibits and the 2nd and 3rd floor he directly went to the topmost floor. He found Xander there gazing at various species present there. "This is so fascinating, come check this out"! He called Kaze upon seeing him, who in turn chose to ignore him completely. Xander feeling betrayed kept looking at the exhibits all by himself.

After looking around a little bit Kaze did manage to find a giant box of glass which had a female of their species petrified. The skin colour was a bit darker in shade, darker than their usual range. She was a little bit taller than Kaze's height but nevertheless she looked quite like him, just like any other member of his species would.

"Are you fascinated by Zimerians" Xander who appeared next to him asked when he noticed Kaze staring intently at the exhibit. For a guy like showing interest in something was indeed a huge deal which is why Xander became curious. Kaze didn't answer him but this time Xander didn't mind and let him have his moment without interrupting further.

"Who is there"! A groggy voice shouted from the first floor. Xander grabbed his hand and quickly hid behind the huge Zimerian exhibit along with Kaze. "What's happening"? Kaze asked confused by the situation.

"Shhh" Xander shushed him urgently before explaining him the situation in a whisper. "The museum is off limits after six o clock in the evening. I tried it once in the day but it was so crowded I barely got in. We can't be seen here, or it will affect our marks"! Xander panicked.

The footsteps of the man got louder by the minute and so did Xander's heart rate. While Kaze didn't care much about the points, he felt bad for Xander, especially when thanks to him he got to see this amazing place. The moment that guard stepped on that floor Xander tried to hide better and closed his eyes.

Seeing the situation, Kaze decided to take advantage of his telekinetic abilities and thus tried to move a giant piece of a gem, which was part of one of the exhibits. At a first few tries when he didn't get it and thus he became confused as to why. Increasing his power he pushed further and further until finally, when his power was limit, he managed to throw away the stone successfully grabbing the man's attention a moment before he was about to look behind the Zimerian exhibit.

Distracted he checked the other exhibit with the gem before he left the building. A wave of relief washed over Xander and he finally started to breathe again, and realised that he never noticed when he stopped breathing.

"We should leave"! Xander insisted. Nodding at Xander Kaze accompanied him and this time was careful to avoid getting caught by the guard.
