CHAPTER 7: MISSION FRUSTRATE SAM

True to his words, the car arrived at 9am dot, to pick me up. I deliberately wasted some time even though I was already set, just to piss him off.

Eventually, I got in the car. The journey took about 20 minutes to get to the airport. He had his own private jet, judging by the closed off area I was being led to. No surprises there.

I saw him looking through his phone waiting. He was rested against the bonnet of his car. I must confess he looked so good in his navy blue suit.

Wait what? He doesn't look good at all. He's not supposed to look good to me, he may be pleasing to the eyes but very, very ugly on the inside, so no he cannot ever look good. I cautioned myself.

As soon as he heard the clanking of my heels, he looked up at me from his phone, and immediately checked his watch. I could see a frown forming on his face.

Mission frustrating him part 1 accomplished. I smiled to myself as I got closer to him.

"You're early Essi" I could feel sarcasm dripping from his comment, which only made my smile wider.

"Shouldn't we already be on the plane or do you prefer we catch up some more?"

I asked.

I could sense he was already very irritated with me. Should I tease him some more? Well for the sake of peace to reign I decide to leave him, and make my way over to board the plane.

I heard his footsteps behind me, and he made sure to take the farthest seat away from me.

So much for somebody who wanted me to follow him at all cost.

I waited patiently for the plane to take off. I fastened my seat belt at the pilot's instruction. After we had taken off, and it was safe to remove the seat belt, I began phase two of my 'frustrate Sam' plan.

I gently unfastened my seat belt, and made my way over to where Sam was quietly sitting, reading some files. I took the seat beside him.

"You seem busy"

"Yes" he reluctantly answered

"Well I'm bored and I get air sick so I need someone to talk to" I wined purposely just to annoy him.

I was met with no reply. I went on further to poke him. I really was pushing my luck today.

No answer.

Poke, poke.

No answer.

Poke, poke, poke.

"What exactly do you want from me? I honestly do not care if you are air sick. The only reason I brought you with me was because I wanted to see first-hand what you are capable of. So I would really appreciate it if you let me be"

I pouted slightly at his outburst. Now that phase 2 was complete, I should probably get some sleep, before I annoy him further.

I couldn't even be bothered to go back to my seat at this point, so I just stayed where I was, and closed my eye lids. Before I knew it sleep overtook me.

BASSAM'S POV

I sighed in relief, when I realized that she had finally slept. She sure slept peacefully for the she-devil that she is. I knew she had been trying to annoy me, but I tried my very best to keep calm, knowing fully well that my response will only serve to fuel her determination to oppress me.

I decided to stand up, and stretch my legs to the bar for a fruit drink. I wonder if I should just lodge in a hotel or go to the palace.

I stayed so long sipping my drink, and contemplating my options, that I didn't even know how much time had flew by, until I heard footsteps heading my way.

"How many hours left?" she yawned after saying this.

I looked at my watch contemplating if I should reply her before I decided to.

"About six hours left"

After saying that I proceeded to leave, but to my grave disappointment, she followed right behind me. Remind me again why I thought it was even a good idea for me to go on a business trip with her.

"Look Essi, I have a lot of things to get done, so I would appreciate it, if you left me alone right now"

I turned back and I could have sworn I saw her smirk for just a moment before she straightened her expression.

"But I told you I get airsick and bored"

I rubbed my face in frustration "And I also told you, I clearly don't care"

Before she could retort back the pilot's voice came on speakers, instructing us to put on our seatbelts as we were about to experience a few turbulences.

I turned to look at Essi and her eyes grew wide, I almost thought they were going to pop out.

I dismissed her expression and made my way to my seat. I was about to fasten my seat belt, only to find out that Essi wasn't here. I looked back, and realized that, she stood frozen behind.

"Damn" I muttered aloud. She couldn't possibly be serious right now. This can't possibly be the first time she's flying on a plane experiencing turbulence.

I stood up, and rushed towards her, but before I could reach her, the plane shook. I had to stop, to get a proper grip on the chair, in order not to fall.

I felt something tighten around my arm, and when I looked down I saw Essi.

She looked so vulnerable during this moment, I was almost tempted to think she was just an innocent girl.

I lifted my hand up to pet her hair.

What am I doing? I quickly removed my hand just as it touched her head. She must have been too startled to notice.

That was close, I must be crazy to even think of petting Essi. She's a pretty demon. Wait a moment, did I just call her pretty?

The loss of her touch brought me back to reality.

"Is it over? "She asked. I noticed she was taking deep breaths. It was probably to calm herself down.

"Maybe" I deliberately taunted her. I decided against going back to work, after I said that.

Instead, I made my way to the bedroom without even bothering to spare her a glance, while she shouted "Hey come back!"

As soon as I entered the cream colored room, I at once located the white bed and fell on it.

It took me a while, before I was able to sleep, but eventually I slept off.
