Chapter Two: Mated?

Marcus POV

She's getting closer. The lines are closing in. Whoever it is, she is moving at vampire speed. I look to Aro and Caius with my normal look and Caius looks over at me.

"What is it, brother?" He asks me. This causes Aro to look over to me with concern.

"She's getting closer. The lines are closing in at vampire speed." I tell them both.

"I am starting to think that Marino girl is out mate." Aro says. I smile at his statement. The future queen of the vampires is a Marino, how wonderful!

Wednesday POV

We walk down the dark halls. They echo as my boots hit the floor. I see a human woman at a desk. She opens the elevator and has a sullen look on her face, but it brightens when she sees Felix.

"Hey, babe." He says to her. He kisses her on the cheek. Demetri clears his throat and Felix returns back to us. As we make it closer to the door down the hall, I begin to feel nervous. Like there's something on the inside that I need to be ready for.

The doors open and I begin to see 3 men, all vampires, sitting on thrones. It's like they are kings. Maybe they are, but I get the feeling they are much more. I begin to feel like I need to stay around them at all times.

"Welcome! My name is Aro, the blonde is my brother Caius, and the other dark-haired male is Marcus. We are very pleased to make your acquaintance, Ms. Marino." The black-haired vampire tells me.

"Hi." I say nervously.

"I was right. She is our mate." Marcus says.

"I believe that was me, but yes, our mate is Ms. Marino." Aro tells him, but he looks at me the entire time.

"What? I don't understand." I tell him.

"Mates. It's something that every vampire has. A vampire's mate is different from their blood singer. The blood singer is a human whose blood calls to the vampire. The mate is the vampire's other half. However, you are the mate to all 3 of us. This is very rare." Aro tells me.

"Master, she knows Mistress Sulpicia." Demetri tells him. He hands Aro the letter.

"My mom did. That letter is the only thing I have of my mother's. I wish I had more, but she died giving birth to me." I tell him.

"Felix, go get Sulpicia." Aro orders.

"Yes, master." Felix bows and leaves, but returns seconds later with a beautiful woman. She has blonde hair and very white skin. She looks at me and smiles.

"Aro, who is this?" She asks.

"Sulpicia, you were friends with her mother, Valentina Marino." Aro tells her. Sulpicia looks back at me and smiles.

"Also, she is our mate. Caius, Marcus, and I's. You and Dora are released from your duties as Queen. You are to leave at once." Aro tells her. She looks down. I don't want her to leave. She knows about my mother and possibly my mother's family.

"Wait! Can she stay? She was friends with my mother and could know her family as well." I tell Aro. He looks back to Sulpicia and then to me. I give puppy eyes and Caius smirks. Marcus looks over and finally, Aro gives in.

"Fine! But Dora must go!" He says.

"That's fine. No offense to anyone, I never liked Dora. She was rather annoying." She says, which causes me to laugh.

"How adorable." Marcus says about my laugh. I blush harshly, making my entire face turn as red as a cherry tomato.

"Master, you called?" Two vampires ask. One is a girl with blonde hair, and the other is a boy with dark blonde hair.

"Ah, Alec, Jane, do take Sulpicia to a chamber room here in the castle and take our mate to one room that conjoins the three rooms of your masters." Aro tells them. The girl stares at me and Sulpicia.

"Alec, I'll take their mate." She tells him.

"Come, Lady Sulpicia." The boy, Alec, tells her. They leave and Jane takes me to my room. She seems tense.

"My name is Wednesday." I tell her. She looks at me.

"Wednesday? Like Wednesday Addams?" She asks.

"Yes, how do you know about The Addams Family?" I ask her.

"Please don't tell the masters, but Alec, Felix, Demetri, Corin, Heidi, and I snuck out once to see the movie. We watched both and I personally love them." She tells me. We stop at a grand door and she smiles.

"We've arrived, my Queen." She tells me. I enter the room and I look around. The bedroom part is so big and beautiful. It's truly fit for a queen. I go to thank Jane, but when I turn, she's gone. I sigh and I walk into the room. This room is between the 3 rooms of the kings? I wonder which bedroom is which. I mean, the rooms are rather large, my room even, but I wonder door leads to who.

"You're mother was a beautiful woman. She always wanted a child and she hoped and prayed that it would be a daughter. When she finally got pregnant, I was the first person she told. When she was pregnant with you, she kept talking about how much she couldn't wait for you to join the world. After I heard of her death, I was devastated, but then my mind went to her motherless child. I begged Aro to get you from the human that thought you were his daughter, but he declined and dismissed me. He told me this place was no place for a child." I hear Sulpicia say. I turn to her and she enters my room. I go to close the door, but I am met by another vampire woman. She closes the door for me and stands by it. Her golden eyes stand out from the red color of the other vampires. She is rather beautiful and elegant. She looks like a queen in her own right.

"Wednesday, this is Solaria Volturi. She is my daughter, but not Aro's. A man from a very long time ago raped me and I ended up pregnant with her. Aro changed me after birth, but we had Corin and Chelsea take care of her. I couldn't for the time being, but when I was able to control my thirst, I got to raise my daughter. Aro waited until she was 23 before he would change her." Sulpicia explains to me.

"Mother, who is this and why are we no longer in the tower?" Solaria asks.

"This is Wednesday Marino. She is the mate of Aro and his brothers. I am no longer queen, but we are allowed to stay because I knew her mother and I still know her family." Sulpicia tells her daughter.

"Why does she have golden eyes, rather than the red eyes that you have?" I ask Sulpicia.

"Oh! The things you must learn about vampires! Well, golden eyes are from vampires that drink animal blood rather than human blood. This is considered to be a vegetarian. The Volturi only drink human blood, but Solaria is the only vampire in history who is unable to drink human blood." Sulpicia says.

"So, you could say that she is allergic to human blood." I tell her. Sulpicia nods and looks at her beautiful daughter. Solaria looks towards the door and her face gets sour.

"Dinner is here." Sulpicia says. She gets up to leave and Solaria is left behind.

"I hope we can be friends." I tell her. She smiles.

"Yes, of course. Now, I need to go get my dinner." She leaves my room and shuts the door behind her, leaving me alone.

Time skip- Next day

I wake up to the sun in my face. Last night, I was just so tired that I went to bed and didn't think about telling anyone. When I went to bed, Aro, Caius, and Marcus came into my room, I guess to talk to me, but I was already asleep. I know this because I felt them there. I think it was the mating bond.

"Mistress, may I come in?" A woman asks at the door. I sit up and I make sure that my hair is alright.

"Um, yes, come in!" I answer. My door opens and a regular human woman comes inside. She carries a table with food on it. She sets it down in front of me and I see the meal that has been lied out in front of me. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, and orange juice. Then, there is a small bowl of fruit. They're strawberries, my favorite.

"Why are you calling me 'Mistress'?" I ask the woman.

"The Masters told me to call you that. They told me that if I didn't, they'd kill me. I have to do as they order, or they will end my life. I don't want to die. My entire family relies on me to bring the money home. This job pays good money and I can't afford to lose it." She tells me.

"Do you have any children?" I ask her.

"Yes. I have 3 boys and 2 girls." She tells me.

"5 kids. That's a lot." I tell her as I put a pancake in my mouth.

"How do you like it?" She asks.

"It's amazing. Truly, you're a gifted cook." I smile at her. A bell dings and she sighs.

"That would be the Masters calling me for what I plan on making for lunch. What would you like, Mistress?" She asks. I think for a moment.

"Beef Stew with toast." I tell her. She smiles.

"When you're done, just set the table on the floor outside." She says.

"Wait, what's your name?" I ask.

"Helena." She tells me. She leaves and I quickly eat up my food. My phone is blowing up with text messages from my dad and my friends. They're worried sick of where I am. I quickly answer back with a lie that I went to Milan, Italy because I got an email from my grandmother. I told them that my family here had gotten custody over me and not to worry. My father ended up answering back with 'be safe' and 'I'll miss you kid.' My friends are just happy that I'm alive and well.

I finish eating and I set the table outside the door as Helena said to. I re-enter my room and I go to the bathroom. Wow. It's huge. The tub was huge. I've never seen a tub that big. I run the hot water and I get undressed. I run back into my bedroom and I grab a change of clothes, underwear, shoes, and bathroom related things. There is a knock at my bedroom door and 3 different voices. I know them as the 3 kings. I quickly run into the bathroom and I set everything in my hands down. I grab my body wash and shampoo and I set it down beside the bathtub. I turn off the water and I step into the scalding water. It burns at first, but then my body adjusts to the heat.

"Wednesday, are you in there?" I hear a sharp voice ask. That would be Caius.

"Yes, but I'm warning you, I'm not much of a morning person, so what do you want?" I ask him in the same tone he used with me.

"We need to talk to you. Is that alright?" Aro asks.

"Wait until I'm done. I just got in the bath, that is, unless you'd like to come in?" I ask in an innocent tone. I hear a soft chuckle from the other side of the door, and I can tell that it's Marcus.

"We would love to, when our bond is stronger and when you're ready to complete the bond." Aro tells me. A real gentleman. No sarcasm, just I was hoping to tease one of them.

"Well, alright. Just know, that I will always let you come in and watch me bathe." I tell them in a teasing voice. I hear three growls from the other side of the door. I feel them sit on my bed and I begin to rinse the shampoo from my hair. I then wash my body and shave my legs and armpits. I drain the tub and I begin to dry off. I go to the sink and I brush my teeth, brush my hair, and I blow dry it.

I put on my black lacy underwear set and I look in the mirror. This set really looks good on me. I put on my tank top and black jeans. Then my earrings, necklace, and bracelets. I zip up my boots and grab my glasses. I just wear these to add to the outfit. I put on my jacket and I put my hair in a high ponytail. I chose not to put on any makeup today, mainly because I left my favorite eyeshadow in Forks.

"Alright, what do you wish to talk about?" I ask as I open the bathroom door. Aro is the first to look at me and Caius is the second. He glares at me for a split second then smirks.

"First, your dress code." Caius says.

"What?" I ask.

"No jeans or pants. Dresses and skirts are only acceptable." He tells me. Then, he glares at what I'm wearing.

"I'm not going to follow that. Just because I'm your mate, doesn't mean I will submit to your every wish and whim. I couldn't give half a shit about this stupid dress code." I tell him. Marcus smiles.

"I told you, brother. She was born to lead. She is a Marino after all." Aro tells him.

"Hm, fine, but the jeans mustn't be baggy. They should be form-fitting." Caius says.

"If they were form-fitting, you would never get to relax." I tell him in a chuckle.

"What do you mean by that?" He asks.

"She means that as the mating pull gets stronger, you will be wanting to complete the bond more. Meaning, the tighter clothes she wears, the more curves you're going to see, and the more you are likely to let your manhood take control." Marcus tells him.

"I would never!" Caius shouts.

"We'll see about that." Aro tells him.

"Well, anything else?" I ask. I grab my phone, wallet, headphones, and my rose quartz pendant. I put them all in my purse, except for the pendant. I put it around my neck and I turn back around to the vampire males.

"Yes, Sulpicia would like to take you to meet your mother's family. Would that be alright with you?" Aro asks me.

"Yes, that's fine." I answer.

"Great, well, she's waiting for you in the throne room with 2 guards. Jane and Corin are coming with you two." Aro tells me. I nod and I walk out of my room. I feel wind swirl around me for a split second, but it disappears. I look back to my room, but the kings are gone. I guess that gust of wind was them and their vampire speed. They're probably already waiting for me.
