Chapter 2: The ARK is attacked

Gerald and Dark were in the secret laboratory. Dark was shocked, because he knew that he had a brother and his goal was to defeat him. He said:

- Wait. So, you said that my mission is, if my brother tries to destroy the Earth, I have to kill him?

- Basically, yes. - Answers Gerald

- Man...I think I can't support this. - Said Dark - But, wait. What if we destroy the enemy right now?

- We can't.

- What! Why?

Gerald said:

- The "Project Shadow"was the only way that I could heal my granddauther. She has a disease called NIDS, and because of that, she has a frail and weak body. When my first attempt failed, I lost my only hope. Then, the Black Arms apeard and offered their help to create the Ultimate Life Form, if I can find the seven chaos emeralds and give to them when they appeard again. They will arive in 51 years.

- And...have you even found them?

- No.

- We still have time to find them. We need to-

Suddently, they heard gunshots coming from the outside of the lab. Gerald opened the door and he saw G.U.N soldiers arresting his colleagues and killing who tries to escape. He turns to Dark and says:

- Look at me and listen carefully. You have to go to the escape pod room and get out of here.

- But-

- NOW!

Dark heads to the door but, when he was about to leave, he asked:

- Professor, you think that I'm gonna to see my brother Shadow?

- I know you will. Now go!

Dark leaves the laboratory and runs down the corridors, covered in blood and with some dead bodies on the floor. The sound of gunshots echoed everywhere. He, focused on the order he was given, does not even look at the corpses and, while walking among the corpses, he heard a sequence of numbers in his head, it seemed that he was hearing some coordinates. He heard soldiers behind him say:

- Stop!

Dark looks back and sees shadows of soldiers down the hall. He doesn't stop and, when he enters the room, he approaches a computer and inserts some coordinates that he had in his head. After starting the countdown to go towards Earth, he sees Shadow in the distance with Maria in his arms and was heading towards the same room where he was. He looked at his brother and said:

- Goodbye, brother! I hope we meet face to face.

And, in that moment, the capsule was launched into the vacuum of space and he was coming to the Earth, but something happened. The capsume motors colapsed and he didn't know what to do.

He was stuck in the vacuum of space!

He was a little scared because he didn't know what to do or how long he was gonna be trapped. But he knew one think.

He just needed to wait.
