The Shed Of Screams

My feet thudded against the forest floor as I hurried past the thick, gloomy trees.

My devil boss chose to keep me on the night shift and then released me only two minutes before midnight.

As a last resort, I chose the dreaded path through the forest, I mean, it was a shortcut.

As I was rememinicizing and running, I nearly missed a tree. My last brain cells told me that I should concentrate on what I had to do, and I turned.

Panting and running, I sped past the trees.

Suddenly, the air started to feel chilly and I regretted not wearing a jacket.

Then out of nowhere, earsplitting screams filled the atmosphere, and in front of me stood a one-room wooden shed.

It seemed old, as if no one lived in it since quite a while. It was surrounded by overgrown trees.

I turned around and started walking on the opposite side and suddenly, the shed appeared in front of me.

I turned to my right and there stood the shed, same on to my left side.

I decided to go in, and opened the creaking door, as soon as I stepped in, the screams stopped.

A fusty smell entered my nose.

As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I gasped, for to the wooden wall, were heads nailed by their hair!

All the heads wore ugly sneers and scowls. They all had their mouths open, this was probably where the screams came from.

Why are they all scowling?, I wondered, but then I answered my own question, You wouldn't smiling to have your head chopped off, Caroline.

Squinting in the moonlight, I saw a wooden chair in the middle of the room.

Someone's sitting on it, I realised.

It was a man in all black, and while I was looking at him, he turned and left me horror-stricken.

He didn't have any eyes! Suddenly, he opened his mouth and spoke in a raspy voice," When you have me more you can only see less, what am I?"

" I-", I was dumbfounded, but then realised it was a riddle, " Uhh, I don't know", I replied.

Suddenly, as if by an invisible force, something grabbed my hand and raised it towards that man, and he frickin' chopped off my finger!!

I screamed in pain.

" When you have me more you can only see less, what am I?", he repeated.

I have to give the right answer or God knows what this shadowy demon will do, I thought.

Then suddenly, I got it!

" Darkness! That's the answer!" I yelled.

I then watched in horror as the invisible force chopped of the figure's head and blood started dripping from the wound.

I held back a wave of nausea as I watched this hideous sight.

Suddenly, the head got nailed to the wall by it's hair and and it opened it's mouth in an earsplitting scream . . . .
