Chapter 13 Boyfriend

It was the next morning when Lindsey woke up suddenly. She was having a dream of the events that had happened the night before. She shot out of sleep and grabbed her phone. She dialed Ryeanne's number as quick as possible and held the phone up to her ear.

"Hello?" Ryeanne answered groggily.

"You won't believe what happened last night!" Lindsey said into the phone with too much enthusiasm.

"Lindsey, do you know what time it is?" Ryeanne asked.

"No, I just woke up and called you," Lindsey answered.

"It's four o'clock in the fucking morning," Ryeanne said. Lindsey looked outside her window. It was still dark outside. She had slept for less than four hours, yet was completely energized. "And it's Saturday, I need to sleep in. You can tell me later."

"But Damian asked me to be his girlfriend," Lindsey said quickly. There was no sound on the other side of the phone. "Ryeanne? Are you still there?"

"I will be there in thirty minutes!" Ryeanne yelled into the phone a couple seconds later. "Have your staff make me breakfast though, I'll be hungry."

"Are you going to steal your parents' car?" Lindsey asked.

"I'll leave a note, and besides, I will be back," Ryeanne said nonchalantly.

"Okay, see you soon," Lindsey said before she hung up. She fell back in her bed in amazement. She had a boyfriend. But not just any boyfriend, Damian Wayne. The boy that no other girl could sink their claws into.

Before she knew it, Ryeanne was inside the manor, in Lindsey's room, eating eggs and toast on Lindsey's bed as she went into great detail about everything that happened the night before.

"The gala was robbed last night?" Ryeanne screamed when Lindsey reached the part. "Girl, you were staring down the barrel of a gun last night and BATMAN saved you. But just not Batman. ROBIN! He finally made an appearance. It's been forever since anyone has been saved by him."

"Does anyone have theories as to why Robin's been MIA?" Lindsey asked.

"Yeah, theories, but most of them are completely BS," Ryeanne said shoving some eggs into her mouth. "The most believable ones are that Batman has an age limit on Robins. The most recent has reached the limit and Batman's been trying to find a new one."

"What happens to them once they get old enough?" Lindsey asked.

Ryeanne shrugged setting the now-empty plate aside. "Go back to living their lives. Some say Batman kills them. Which I don't believe so. Others say they become solo vigilantes."

"Like who?"

"The one that's most believable is that Red Robin was the previous Robin to the one we have now. But I don't believe it. I hope that they just go back to their lives before they were involved with Batman."

"Wow no wonder Damian seemed confused," Lindsey said.

"Right, Damian!" Ryeanne yelled. "It's said that only in great danger will the truth will come out. Guess he was tired of keeping it hidden inside. That or when he was worrying about you, he finally realized he was in love with you. Or seeing you in that smokin hot dress he wasn't able to keep it in his pants anymore."

"Let's go with the first or second one," Lindsey said as her face turned red over the last statement."

"You can't be that innocent if you're dating the hottest, baddest boy in school," Ryeanne groaned.

"We'll I've never kissed anyone before, or never had a boyfriend," Lindsey said.

"Wait you've never kissed anyone before?" Ryeanne shouted. "But girl, you're hot. Like really hot! How have you never been kissed?"

"No guys were ever interested in a shy, artsy, half-Italian girl at my old school," Lindsey whispered pulled her knees to her chest.

"That has to be a lie."

"Only the popular girls, or the terribly depressed girls ever dated at my old school. I didn't fall into those categories."

Ryeanne stared at her in disbelief. "Well most guys aren't into trans-gender girls, believe it or not. I had to dig deep to find someone remotely interested. You just had to look. Wait did you look or were you so deep into studying guys were an after-thought?"

"Well now that you mention it, maybe I wasn't looking. I was probably just waiting for fate to drop someone in my lap."

"Yeah, well fate slapped you across the face with Damian Wayne. If only fate worked like that for all of us. I could really use my own Damian Wayne."

"Find your own," Lindsey snapped.

Ryeanne laughed. "Don't worry, I'm not going to steal him from you. I doubt he would even go for me. Now you'll have to worry about the other girls at school who won't be so happy Damian Wayne is off the market."

"Do you think I'll be able to handle them?"

"Do you want me to be honest?" Ryeanne asked. Lindsey nodded looking scared. "No. But you'll have me and the others there to help you. Speaking of which, get dressed. We're going to go meet with the others at McDonalds for you to tell them this story and to get breakfast."

"But you already had breakfast," Lindsey said.

"I have the appetite of a teenage boy, I know. Now go get dressed."

It was Monday morning and Lindsey sat with Ryeanne in their World History class.

"I can't wait to see him today," Lindsey was gushing as she nervously stared at the door waiting for Damian to walk through. "I've never been so happy."

"I can tell, you haven't shut up about him since we got to school," Ryeanne said rolling her eyes.

"I can't help it," Lindsey laughed.

That morning Lindsey got a text from Damian saying he would see her in class. She asked if they could walk to class together, in which he replied that he was running late.

"Hey, you're Lindsey Vindai, right?"

Lindsey turned and saw a girl standing next to her desk. She had dyed blonde hair and brown eyes. Her lipstick was too pink for her skin tone. Her uniform shirt was two sizes too small. It was straining against her chest. The skirt was rolled so far, it was barely legal. She had on an expensive pair of black one-inch heels.

"Yes, and who are you?" Lindsey asked.

"I'm the only one who will love Damian," she said. "You don't deserve him. He's way to handsome, rich, and good for you. You might as well break up with him now. No one will be good enough for him, except me. So back off and leave him alone."

"I'm sorry, but last I heard, he didn't like anyone," Lindsey said. "Except me of course."

"I'm fine with that, because once he gets bored of you, he'll be running to a real woman," the girl said flipping her hair over her shoulder. It was obvious that she was talking about herself.

"Well I don't see a real woman," Ryeanne snapped. "I only see some hoe who's living of Daddy's money. Any decent person can see that Damian is in deep with Lindsey. So back off."

"Who are you?" the girl asked. "Oh I remember you, the little boy who liked dresses too much and decided he wanted to change."

"Don't talk about her like that," Lindsey snapped. "She's just as much a girl as you and me. Only she has more class than you ever will."

"Listen here, you bit-"

The girl didn't finish her sentence before Damian pushed her away from Lindsey's desk. He swooped down and placed a kiss to her cheek.

"It's been too long, love," Damian said to her. He turned around to the girl. "Hello, Nicolette Browning. It has been a while since I've last seen you're lovely self. Now last I remember, you asked your parents to arrange a marriage between us. And last I checked, my father said no. Why do you insist that we still belong together? Can you not see I am dating Lindsey now? Why don't you go sit down and I will continue to greet my girlfriend without any filthy interruptions?"

Nicolette stormed off to her seat. Ryeanne began to laugh at the situation that just unfolded. Damian leaned against Lindsey's desk and looked down at her with folded arms.

"Sorry at all of that," Damian said. "I expected some people to be mad about the two of us, but once it gets out to the press, I can except more people to get upset. I can have father pay to have the press keep quiet. If that is what you want."

"I'd rather keep this all quiet," Lindsey whispered having a blush cover her face. Was it possible that Damian got more handsome over the weekend?

Damian nodded and walked to the boy sitting in the front seat. "No one outside of this school learns about mine and Lindsey Vindai's relationship. Spread it."

The boy nodded and started typing on his phone. Damian waked back to Lindsey.

"What was that?" Lindsey asked.

"Making sure the word gets spread," Damian shrugged. The bell rang, and everyone started quieting down. "I'll walk you to our next class."

Lindsey watched as he walked to his seat. She sighed slightly, knowing that he was hers.

"Who was the boy Damian just talked to?" Lindsey whispered to Ryeanne.

"Julian Vince," Ryeanne whispered back as the teacher started explaining the worksheet they were to do today. "Biggest gossip in the school. You want to start a rumor? You tell him and by the end of the period, the whole school knows."

"Oh," Lindsey then looked over her shoulder to Damian. He was looking bored at the teacher. Lindsey often forgot just how powerful the last name Wayne was. Damian could pay anyone into submission, and if money wouldn't work, physical force would be sure to work seeing how strong he looked.

Damian could feel eyes on him. He snapped his own gaze from the teacher to the person, seeing it was his beloved, Lindsey. He smirked before sending her a wink. He watched as pink traveled up her neck to her face before she turned to face forward.

How was it someone so sweet and innocent ended up falling in love with him? It reminded him of the conversation he had with his father, and adoptive brother over the weekend.

"If she's as innocent as you say, maybe she doesn't belong in our world, Damian," Bruce had said.

"So you want me to ruin the one good thing that has happened to me before I even have a chance?" Damian asked.

"Did you not see how much Jane has changed since I told her everything?" Tim asked. "I love her like nothing else, but I still wish I could go back to that innocence she had before she found out everything. Do you want the same thing to happen with Lindsey?"

"I will love Lindsey no matter what," Damian growled to his brother. "And she will remain as she is, even after I tell her, if I ever tell her."

"You'll have to tell her eventually," Bruce said. "You can't keep this hidden forever."

"Tt."

Lindsey was at her locker by herself. Damian had went off to one of the classes they didn't have together, which was on the opposite side of the building. All her friends were in other classes, except Logan who was asking a different teacher a question.

"You're Lindsey Vindai, right?" a voice asked.

Lindsey whipped her head to see a girl with brown hair with some lighter brown highlights. She had dark brown eyes - so dark they were almost black. She was insanely beautiful and several inches taller than her.

Lindsey looked around the hall, seeing it almost empty. Most students were already in class waiting for class to start. No one to help her if this girl got violent.

"Yes, I am," Lindsey replied to the girl. "What's your name."

"Right," the girl laughed. "I'm Jane Indigo. I'm Tim Drake's girlfriend."

Lindsey's mouth dropped. She remembered meeting Tim after the gala. He said his girlfriend was a few years younger than him.

"I just wanted to say hi, and also if you ever need to talk about anything you can't tell your friends, you can call me," Jane said holding out a scrap of paper. "Now that you're dating the demon, you're a member of this family. It's hard with how many problems this family has. It's easier to talk to them with someone who understands."

Lindsey looked shell-shocked. Jane seemed completely normal compared to the rest of the Waynes. She was all smiles and positivity.

"Well, I better get to class," Jane said. "I'll see you around Lindsey."

Jane walked off in the opposite direction waving a hand over her shoulder.

"What just happened?" Lindsey whispered.

Jane let her smile drop from her face. She felt bad for the girl. Not only was she so sweet, and would have to deal with all the hate from dating a Wayne, but she had no idea what was bubbling below the surface of the Wayne family.

Jane wasn't sure this girl would be able to handle everything dating Damian would entail. But she would be there to help even if everything ended terribly for the new couple.
