CHAPTER 10
MCKINLEY P.O.V
Our office has been closed for a few days now while we all traveled to Montana for Courtney's wedding. Me and Luke found very quickly that getting an early flight was a bad idea. Many people were travelling trying to get away from the cold weather.
"Help me, Jesus." I said as we got to the airport and he parked his car in the parking garage.
"I'm Luke." He said smirking at me and I turned to hit his shoulder but his hand grabbed my wrist. "I wouldn't try that with me today, Babygirl." I looked at him confused. "I'm cranky." He said and I nodded heading to the Starbucks that was in there, grabbing us each a coffee and bringing one to him.
"Here." I said handing it to him and he took it from me with a kiss as he sipped at it. "We will never take an early flight like this again." I said running my hand through hair.
"Yeah, I agree." He answered as our flight was called and we both made our way to the gates. I hated flying, it wasn't fun. I had never liked anything that flew. Bugs, birds, planes. I also didn't like trains. But the only way to get to Montana was from a plane and I wasn't willing to drive all the over there.
Luke had offered to drive down there but it would have cost just as much for gas as it did for the plane tickets and I knew that it would be a very long drive and I would probably choke him out by the time we got there.
As soon as we got on the plane, we both found our seats and got comfortable. I fell asleep rather quickly into the ride and only woke when we landed. We made our way to the hotel where I laid on the bed while he made sure there was no one hiding anywhere and then he deemed the room fine and I could go shower. We were having dinner with Courtney, Nick and their parents tonight and I could go looking like a crazy person.
"Do we have to go? Why can't we just stay here and do the dirty?" Luke asked as he tightened his tie.
"Because I showered for this. And I did my hair and makeup."
"So if we were going to stay here and have sex you wouldn't shower?" He questioned.
"No. I don't need to shower for you." I answered and he laughed nodded as he grabbed his phone and wallet. He took my hand as he helped me over to the elevator where we went down to the lobby where a limo picked us up. "This is so nice." I said as I opened the champagne bottle that was sitting in some ice.
"It's lovely." Luke answered as he clinked his glass to mine. I smiled as I drank it. We didn't have much time before we pulled up to the restaurant and we were ushered out of the limo and into the building being taken right over to where Courtney was sitting with Nick and their parents.
"McKinley!" Courtney jumped up from her seat to hug me.
"Hi." I hugged her back before hugging Nick.
"Mr and Mrs. Jonas this is my work friend McKinley." Courtney smiled. I wasn't in the wedding party but I asked Courtney to not put me in it because I didn't want to fall down on the aisle. "And this is her boyfriend Luke." She said motioning to both of us. We both shook their hands saying our hello's.
We all sat down eating the bread that was placed on our table and drinking our wine or beer. We each ordered our meals and ate in silence before someone broke it to say how good it tasted and we all agreed. Our waiter asked if we would all like dessert and we all declined as we sipped at wine and talked.
"Alright, are you ready Mr. Book Store?" I asked turning to Luke who was yawning and finishing off his beer.
"Yeah, I'm ready. It was nice meeting you all." He smiled at Courtney and Nick's parents. He stood up taking my hand as I said my goodbyes and we headed off to the hotel. I tied my hair up as I watched Luke strip out of his suit and stay in only his boxers.
"Can you unzip me?" I asked turning my back to him as i felt his finger's ghost over my shoulder's and unzip the dress taking it off my shoulders. I covered my braless boobs with my hands before slipping on one his shirts. I stayed in just his shirt and my panties crawling up onto the bed and laying in the middle.
"Where am I suppose to sleep?" Luke asked and I pointed between my legs giggling before he laid his body on top of mine.
"Yes just like this. I love it." I said laughing as he kissed my face. He smiled down at me kissing me on the lips. We hadn't said I love you to each other yet but I knew so deeply and I didn't want to feel this. It scared me. I was internally freaking out. I knew that he would eventually leave me and I would be broken and I didn't want that. This is why I never date anyone.
"I had a nice day." He said laying beside me and I moved over so he had more room to lay. He played with my hand as he talked.
"I had a wonderful night." I answered looking at him. He smiled at me as he flung himself over onto his stomach looking at me. I threw an arm over his back moving closer to him.
"You look beautiful." He mumbled yawning.
"Thank you." I smiled running my hands through his hair and for some reason I knew that this relationship was going to go a lot further than I ever thought.
*LUKE P.O.V*
The next morning we had to be to breakfast by 8 with the entire wedding party. Although me and Mckinley weren't apart of it, they still allowed us to do everything that everyone else was doing. Mckinley had asked not to be in the wedding party due to her anxiety and Courtney is a good friend for listening to her wishes. I was up before Mckinley to shower and make coffee.
I leaned over the bed to kiss her cheek as she slept.
"Babe, you gotta get up. We have breakfast soon." I whispered in her ear moving her hair out of her face.
"No." She whined pulling the blanket over her face but I brought it back.
"Yes baby. I'm not going to breakfast with a bunch of strangers all by myself." I said placing my coffee on the table.
"No babe." She whines again grabbing a pillow and throwing it at me.
"Mckinley we have to go." I said trying to get her out of the bed. "You don't want Courtney to be upset do you?"
"No but I don't want to go." She said and I knew she didn't but we had to.
"I know but they were nice enough to add two extra dishes to all of their meals for us and if we skip out, that would be rude." I said taking her hand in mine and pulling her up sit up. Her once beautiful hair was sticking up at all ends, and was all over her face and she was beautiful to me.
"No babe." She whined again and I sighed.
"Yes, let's go. Its casual so just throw on a pair on jeans and a t-shirt and lets go." I said throwing on a flannel. She grumbled as she climbed off the bed and let her feet hit the floor. She was clearly not happy with me interrupting her sleep. "I'll make it up to you later." I commented and she glared at me as she got dressed and fixed her hair into a messy bun.
After dating Mckinley for almost 4 months, I learned that she hates morning. I also learned that I shouldn't talk to her for 45 minutes after she wakes up unless I'm asking for her to kill me. She can never eat breakfast right away because it makes her feel sick. She loves coffee but she will only drink the frappuccinos from Starbucks, nothing else. She loves anything with caramel, coffee, chocolate, ice cream, anything.
"Let's go." She said grabbing her phone and we both headed down to the breakfast place across the street. We were seated quickly at the end of the table. Her sitting next to me on the inside while I was on the outside.
"Hey, I'm Mandy, Courtney's cousin." A girl with blonde hair said as she shook hands with me and Mckinley.
"Hi, I'm Mckinley. Me and Courtney work together. This is my boyfriend Luke." She smiled and I smiled putting my orange juice down.
"I heard Courtney and Nick had a long night last night so they might be a while." She smirked as she sat across from me.
"Always." Mckinley answered as she looked over the menu. A few of Nick's friends showed up after that, along with his brother's, and somehow we all sat on the same end of the table so when Courtney and Nick and their parents showed up, they all had the other side of the table.
"Heard you had a rough night." Someone said as Courtney and Nick showed up at the table looking freshly fucked.
"I wouldn't say it was rough." Nick said.
"I would." Courtney said and I had learned in that moment that clearly everyone at this table was very open with sex.
"What about you Mckinley?" I nearly spit out my drink. I wasn't expecting anyone to ask us about our sex life. It was very awkward.
"We uh, we didn't do anything last night." She answered as she ate her food. She looked over at me as she turned bright red and held my hand.
"Wow, Luke you gotta put out man."
"You'll know when I put out bro, don't worry." I smirked as Mckinley hit my arm and blushed a deep shade of red.
"How long have you guys been together?" Mandy asked
"4 months." I answered smiling. It had been the best 4 months ever. Yes, it was hard trying to handle a broken girl who never wanted to be in a relationship in the first place. It was hard to juggle our jobs and each other while we were trying to figure out how each other worked and how we worked on our own. She smiled at me as I talked about our relationship.
Later that day me and Mckinley went off to look for something to do. We somehow stumbled upon a zoo and we both gladly went to look at the animals. We walked around for hours looking at every single animal for at least five minutes before moving on.
By the time we got back to our hotel we were exhausted but a few people from breakfast invited us down to the pool so we both changed out of clothing and into a bathing suit before we both headed down to the pool.
"Order some drinks and kick back." Sean, Nick's cousin said as soon as we sat down. We both set our things down going to order drinks. She yawned a few times as we sat at the pool. It was super hot in the area that we were sitting, the indoor pool clearly being warmed and the hot tub not working.
"Babe? Can we go upstairs? I'm really tired." Mckinley said as she grabbed my hand and I nodded.
"Yeah, babe, lets go shower and get into bed." I said grabbing our stuff and leading her out of the pool area.
"Yeah get it, Luke!" Sean yelled and I laughed before i hit the elevator button and we made our way to the room.
"I don't like them making sex jokes like that." She said as she took her bathing suit off and got in the shower while I was brushing my teeth.
"I'm sorry, I won't joke anymore." I answered and she sighed but I couldn't tell if it was because of what I said or if it was the hot water hitting her skin. I left the room but the door open so she could still talk to me if she wanted to. I watched as she stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around her body and grabbing another to dry her hair. She wasn't paying attention to me but I was paying attention to her. And I loved her.
