Chapter 53- 1993 New year

January 1st, 1993

The only thing that could be found on the front page of many newspapers, tabloids, Tv news, or magazines is the biggest gala organized at Point Dume mansion. Malibu's newly build Iconic Landmark.

Due to the sheer number of public figures and celebrities in attendance. It could be considered one of the most exclusive and high-profile New Year celebrations ever to take place in California.

The media frenzy surrounding the event highlights society's tendency to idolize famous individuals and place a great deal of importance on their lives and actions. Especially if that person is the muti-talented child, Richard Jackson.

After all, it's rare for Ric to attend let alone organize such a grand high profile event. Ever since he took a break from movies and focused on his music career.

Once again the young genius now a teenager became a household discussion topic on the morning table across the USA, even in some other countries.

This exemplifies the societal fascination with talented individuals as seen through the media's intense coverage of Richard Jackson's attendance at a high-profile New Year celebration.

The reporters, editors or any famous staff related to media who got the chance to enter the event showed in detail the number of guests who attended, the luxurious decor, and the extravagant culinary offerings provided to such elite individuals.

After all vanity fairs have not yet started their annual Oscar party and this event seemed to fill the void of celebrity extravagance for the time being, putting a spotlight on the rich and famous once again.

With an insatiable thirst for gossip, the attendees at Richard's party couldn't help but delve into speculation concerning those who were unable to attend or perhaps not invited at all.

Fueling their curiosity further was analyzing Richard's every move throughout the soirée - some commenting positively while others negatively - resulting in a plethora of controversies and speculations circulating among them.

On the night of Ric's party, Drew Barrymore acted as the hostess - an event that received significant coverage in newspapers. Several publications even went so far as to speculate about the two celebrities' relationship; some questioned if they were at an appropriate stage or age in their lives for such a romance while others questioned whether or not Ms. Barrymore was deemed suitable enough to play this role.

But one thing is clear, the media stance regarding Ric changed as he grew older from a positive-neutral stand to a more bipolar stand with a more positive leaning side.

It doesn't mean that the production of controversies surrounding him in newspapers, magazines, and tabloids hasn't ceased.

But as the day went by, more and more news outlets began to focus on the new president who is scheduled to take office in the Oval Office at the White House. People were eager to learn about the new president's plans for their country and what changes they would bring.

Despite the major change that happened in this timeline, Bill Clinton still won the election and will be inaugurated on 3rd January.

Ric even received an exclusive invite due to his unique position as both the head of a major media corporation and a highly-regarded musician scheduled to perform during the presidential inauguration.

While this was happening throughout the country, at the house which was the eye of the storm, Drew is humming happily as she was going through the newspapers that featured the previous night's party on the breakfast table.

She couldn't help but smile as she looked at the pictures of her friends and family enjoying themselves. Drew had always been a social butterfly, and hosting parties was one of her favorite things to do. She loved bringing people together and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

As she sipped her coffee, Drew's mind wandered back to the previous night's festivities. The music, the laughter, the delicious food - it had all been perfect. But what she cherished most were the moments spent with her loved ones.

Drew was content to bask in the afterglow of a successful party. As she finished reading through the articles, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in what she had accomplished.

Her happiness could be seen on her face as she was humming cheerfully.

"Someone is happy today."Ric couldn't help but make a comment seeing her like that.

"Of course, silly, Why wouldn't I be. Look they are still talking about the party that happened last night. A party I organized." replied Drew proudly while showing the article in the newspaper to him.

Ric was left dumbfounded by her response, staring at her with a deadpan expression. Drew, however, was too busy flipping through other newspapers and magazines to notice.

"But this is odd," she mused. "Why isn't there much mention about us?"

"Elementary, my dear," Ric explained. "It's all about profit and interest. They're tactful about what they report or write about us because they know the long-term consequences of ruffling my feathers. After all, I am the head of a media giant."

Drew listened intently, impressed by Ric's knowledge of the industry. "Anyway, do you have any plans today?" she asked.

"Yes, actually. I have a meeting with Steven. I told him to come here today during yesterday's party," He replied.

"His coming over when? Now?" she probed.

"Yes" Ric replied with slight nod of his head.

Drew's face fell. "Oh, damn. I thought I would take you shopping with me."

He was once again stupefied hearing her comment.

"Honey, remember we had a high-profile party yesterday. If we go out now, the paparazzi will swarm us," Ric reminded her after snapping out of the daze.

Upon noticing the sadness etched on her face, Ric couldn't help but suggest, "You know, why don't you take Winona with you? I recall her having a free schedule today. Plus, Jennifer is currently out of town for a shoot, so it would be nice for her to have some company. However, I promise that we will make plans together for the next time."

Winona Ryder and Jennifer Connelly shifted to their new villa one day before the Home Welcoming Party. This showed that they had also officially moved in together.

As for shifting home it was more like Winona did as Jennifer still need to complete her shooting before bringing her stuff in. But no matter what the number of member in community officially increased from one family to two.

But poor Jennifer. Even tough she attended the party, she had leave early in the morning. She couldn't even properly enjoy the Villa. Huh! Life of an Hollywood celebrity. To keep afloat in this glamorous jungle one must have to work really hard. If they don't have proper channel or connection, surviving is hard even with giving all the sweat and blood.

Maybe a more private home welcoming party need to be arranged after she become free of course.

As Ric was musing about organizing a party, his concentration broke from Drew's excitement.

"Thank you, my love!" she exclaimed with excitement, planting a sweet kiss on Ric's lips before departing with a joyful spring in her step.

Ric shook his head, smiling at her enthusiasm. He then proceeded to peruse through the annual reports of his company, fully engrossed in his work.
