Chapter-59: Jurassic Park Preview

Ric knew changes would come in this timeline. He has already seen changes happening all over the world. But those are very minute, and in Hollywood, if you don't look around with scrutiny, you won't feel any change. But changes are happening, and the biggest change is Ric's stardom itself. And it's so large and obvious that all the small ones get overshadowed.

All this changes combined formed the first shift to the known yet uncertain future. The first result of the start of the shift is in Ric's hand.

The script he is holding is new, and it didn't exist on the old timeline. And if it is found at one of the executive producers tables, then there is a high chance it will go into production either next year or the year after that.

Ric was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the script. He couldn't help but give the writer credit for crafting such a well-written piece. However, with a few adjustments and some editing, this script could easily be transformed into an A-class film. Ric was confident that if shot correctly, it would be a masterpiece.

He knew that any capable producer would recognize the value of this script instantly. As someone who had traveled from the future, Ric was well-versed in the types of films that were popular in the 1990s. This script fell squarely into that category, and he knew it would be a hit.

"Ari can buy this script from Paramount." Ric asked immediately after finishing going through the script.

As Ric finished poring over the script, he turned to Ari with a glint in his eye. "Ari, you should buy this script from Paramount," he declared.

Ari's interest was piqued. "That's good, huh?" he mused. "I'll certainly try, but they'll know you liked it and might not be willing to sell it. They might even start working on shooting it themselves."

Ric wasn't deterred. "Try increasing the price three or four times the original," he suggested. "And if they still won't budge, tell them I'd be interested in collaborating as a producer and editing the script. But only if they give the lead role to Drew."

"Alright, but where is the star of the show?" Ari asked, looking around.

"After finishing the shooting, Drew and Reese went out together to hang out." Later, she called, saying that she would be at Reese's for a slumber party. "Ric replied.

"Being out and praying, aren't you worried?" he asked, pokingly with amusement.

"NAh. I am not worried. She is a teenager; they like to be free and wild, and partying is their thing," Ric replied with a nonchalant shrug.

"Besides, Drew is responsible and knows her limits. I have full confidence in her ability to make sound judgments," he added confidently.

Ari interjected with a playful remark: "You do realize that you are a teenager yourself. However, I must commend you on your mature perspective despite your age."

Later that night, Ari and Ric had a hearty meal. And before he left, he told Ric to wait for the good news.

Later that evening, Ari and Ric indulged in a satisfying meal. As Ari prepared to depart, he left Ric with a promising message to anticipate good news.

Following Ari's departure, Ric retired to bed, feeling utterly drained from the day's activities. From the early morning shoot to the numerous meetings throughout the day, Ric was in dire need of rest and relaxation.

The filming of High School Musical had consumed a significant portion of Ric's time, spanning over three months. Consequently, his academic responsibilities had accumulated, particularly since he was in his final year and juggling multiple majors.

Therefore, Ric had dedicated the entirety of his day to tackling his professional workload, allowing him to focus on his studies starting the following day. As a diligent and conscientious student, Ric understood the importance of prioritizing his academic pursuits, even amidst his demanding professional obligations.

Time really flies! Two months have passed just like that, like sand slipping through your fingers. And a lot has gone down during that time.

First off, Ari nailed down the script and the film went into production. Drew was over the moon to snag the lead role, and to show her gratitude, she and Ric had a wild and crazy day and night together. It was so intense that Drew couldn't even get out of bed the next day! Ric had to play nurse and take care of her until she could walk again. Drew was secretly cursing him the whole time, but Ric couldn't help but enjoy her sulky face.

Anyway, the pre-production stage was pretty short and they got right into shooting the film. It's set to come out either in late September or early December of this year.

But the most important event that happened was that Jurassic Park has completed its post-production phase, and today marks the last preview before its grand premiere. The fate of this highly anticipated film rests on the outcome of this preview, and the tension in the theater room at FCP is palpable.

As the room slowly fills up, the buzz of chatter and other noises fills the air. All of the FCP executives are present, including Amy and Ric, as well as the film's producers, the main cast, and the legendary director himself, Steven Spielberg. It's not every day that one has the privilege of witnessing a high-budget film go through its final preview, and the excitement is almost too much to bear.

In a bold move, FCP made the decision to keep their lips sealed and not call upon any critics during the final review of their latest project, Jurassic Park. The end of the shooting was not even announced, leaving many in the dark and causing a stir among the media. Rumors swirled that the film had been cancelled or was indefinitely stalled. But FCP had a plan.

Their strategy was simple yet daring. They wanted to witness the world's reaction to their masterpiece all at once, during the official airing. This was a true test of their success in taking on such a monumental project. And they were willing to take the risk.

As Ric sauntered into the room, he made a beeline for Steve, greeting him with a playful "Hey Godpops."

But Steve wasn't having it. "Don't call me that," he replied, his voice lacking any real heat.

Undeterred, Ric flashed a cheeky smile and asked, "So, when's your next film starting?"

"Tomorrow, I am leaving for Poland. And if everything goes according to plan, we'll start shooting in a week," Steve replied, before urging Ric to come to Poland by June if he wanted his cameo to be shot.

"Of course! I'll keep my ever-tight schedule open for you," Ric replied, adding a mocking Nobel accent for good measure. Steve rolled his eyes at the display.

After their exchange, Ric went to meet the main cast of the film, engaging in pleasurable conversations with each member. He even took the time to give acting pointers to the youngest members of the team, who had come with their parents.

As the lights dimmed, everyone eagerly awaited the start of the film. Once it began, all eyes were fixed on the screen. The unfolding story kept them captive. The excitement in the room was palpable as the dinosaurs came to life before their very eyes.

Upon the film's conclusion, everyone rose to their feet in thunderous applause. They showered Steven and the cast with congratulations for a job well done and reserved a special level of respect for Ric, the mastermind behind the script and the boss of the production team.

It was a truly unforgettable experience, one that left everyone in awe of the power of cinema.

Ric's heart swelled with pride as he gazed upon the finished film. It was a script he made, and Steven filmed it into a masterpiece, a true work of art that surpassed even the one he saw in his previous life. He couldn't help but compare it to the old one from his old life; this new version was a testament to his growth and evolution as a script writer.

Amy's voice broke through his reverie, pulling him back to reality. "Another successful film to you, boss," she said, a hint of teasing in her tone.

Ric grinned, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his team. "You could say that, Amy. The film adaptation was very well made. All credit goes to Steven," he replied, nodding towards the talented director who had brought the film to life.

"But aren't you the one who wrote the script?" Amy asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ric chuckled. "Yes, but Steven is the one who put a soul into it," he explained, his eyes sparkling with pride. "And speaking of souls, a question still lingers."

Amy leaned in, intrigued. "Which is?"

"When will the film premiere?" Ric asked, his voice filled with anticipation.
