A Special Day And Good-ish Luck 3

I walked around in my new body, and it just felt like I was crawling on all fours. A moment later, I smelled a familiar sent. It was Hunter and the cheetah. I ran over to the kits and whispered, "Hey. Hey wake up!" They slowly woke up and I said, "I'm being followed by some nasty people. They might take us away. Do you know another way out of this cave?"

Shino turned into a fox kit and whispered, "Yeah. Follow me." The other kits turned into fox kits and we all followed Shino to the back of the cave. I heard the cheetah say, "Damn. We missed him." Then Hunter said, "Wait. There are other fox scents. They probably took him somewhere." Shino stopped and he pushed a rock out of the way, revealing a huge hole leading outside.

We climbed out and escaped into the forest. I said, "Go into your human form. I'll carry you through the forest." The kits did as I said, and they hopped onto my back. Before Hunter came out of the hole, I ran away. I ran until one of the fox kits shouted, "Behind us!" I whisked around and growled until I saw a familiar face. "I know you're with the other cats! Where did you take Yukio!?"

It was Goro. He looked very hostile, and would pounce even if I twitched. The fox kits growled and they all shouted, "Leave us alone!" I stood as still as possible, making Gori nervous. He said, "Quiet you impudent kits! I've got business to take care of!" I felt and heard Kai growl deeply. He shouted, "How dare you call my family impudent!"

Kai jumped off and darted at Goro. Knowing his experience, I grabbed Kai by the scruff and murmured, "He's stronger than you think kit. You could've gotten seriously hurt." Kai whined and said, "But he's being mean!" I place Kai on the ground and said, "It's alright. Shino. Sara. Get off. We're going to have a little detour."

The kits did as I said, and I faced Goro with eyes that reflected off of the moonlight. I moved foward, and Goro jumped into the air. With my experience with him, I knew where he was going to land. Right when I heard him land, I turned around and bit his hand. Goro tried to pull away, but I wouldn't let him go. He tried to punch me with his other arm, but I ducked down, dragging his body with me.

He fell face flat onto the ground and I barked with enjoyment. He lashed his tail in anger, and the kits laughed at him with me. Goro struggled to pull free from my grasp, and I only bit down harder. When I tasted blood, I let go and backed away. Goro rubbed my saliva on his kimono and want to lick the blood off, but he stopped.

He sniffed his hand, and had his eyes open wide. "Yukio!? Wait... is that you!?" Kai gasped and whispered something to his siblings. I remembered my face, and I slowly changed back into a human hybrid. I looked at my new black with white clouds kimono. My tails also now have the white spots permanently. Goro rushed to me and said, "Oh my god... where... how..."

I stood up and said, "Sorry that I bit your hand." The kits squealed and rushed towards me. They turned into fox kits and climbed onto my shoulders and head. Goro asked, "H-hey... who are they?" I said, "They're orphans. I found them in a cave."

Goro tilted his head. Kai also tilted his head and Shino just looked away. Sara stared at him, wagging her tail. I asked Goro, "So where's everyone else?" He pointed forward and said, "This way. Follow me!" I followed Goro with the kits still on me. When we made it, I heard someone yell, "Oh my god you found him! It's so late though!"

It was Jiro. Kai said, "I've never seen a rabbit hybrid before!" Sara and Kai jumped off of me and ran to Jiro, but Shino stayed on my right shoulder. "Woah! Fox babies! So cute!" Jiro shouted. He squat down and greeted the two. Then a familiar voice rang in my ears. "Dad! I missed you!" Miyuki ran to me and hugged me tight. I hugged back and Shino asked, "Who is she?"

Miyuki looked at my shoulder and saw the small fox kit. "Dad is he my new brother?" I said, "Yup. Shino, say hi to Miyuki. Miyuki, say hi to Shino." Miyuki did jazz hands and Shino awkwardly waved. The other two kits shouted, "Ooh! Another kitsune!" They ran to Miyuki and bounced around her. I sat down, watching the kids play around.

Goro picked up my hand and said, "C'mon!" Shino jumped off my shoulder and whispered to his siblings and Miyuki. I was dragged into my new cabin with Jiro holding behind his back. Then Goro and Jiro sang, "Happy Birthday to you~! Happy Birthday to you~! Happy Birthday, dear Yukio! Happy Birthday to you~!"

I smiled and I started tearing up. Jiro handed me a yellow rose, and Goro clapped. I took the rose and said, "So you did remember Jiro.... Or did Goro have to remind you?" Jiro crossed his arms and said, "I was able to figure it out." We just laughed, and I said, "Thanks guys. But it's a little late to be celebrating my birthday. I think it's about midnight now."

Goro said, "It's never too late to say happy birthday! Now hush and let's celebrate this moment." I smiled, but a part of me felt broken. It's probably because Auzu and my other friends weren't here. I was stuck in a world that brought out your inner animal, and most of it didn't make any sense.

Is Kurai really gone? Will I ever get home? When will my bad luck strike again? These thoughts rushed through my mind when I smiled at Jiro and Goro.
