Somewhere in the deepest part of the White Wilderness, rumor said that there lived a mythical beast in which body was half human and half horse with its upper part being of a horse.
It had immense strength surpassing common sense and speed beyond logic. It could command the great trees and had the ability to make anyone be lost in the great forest. It was wild in nature and unfriendly to all races. Although it wasn't aggressive and couldn't be easily provoked, due to its wild and cautious personality, it tended to avoid almost everyone. It would run away at the mere instinctive feeling that someone was approaching it.
Tikbalang.
That was what people called it.
Unfortunately, it had this one thing that made people greedy enough to hunt it down despite its overpowered character. The very reason why it tended to avoid everyone and lived in seclusion. One might even wonder whether this thing was really a blessing or a curse.
Golden hair.
That was what made it very special and enticing.
Tikbalang had golden hair hidden in its thick furs. It was its very weakness, making it vulnerable the moment it got plucked. And when someone plucked this golden hair out of its body, it would have no choice but to obey the one who plucked it out like it was a slave who ought to do everything for its master.
But that wasn't the exact reason why people desired to hunt it down. It was good to make it one's tamed beast, but there was a much better use for this golden hair that made anyone lose their mind in greed.
Because with the use of this golden hair, one could make a single wish of anything they wanted. Be it unfathomable wisdom, or unrivaled strength, or immeasurable wealth, or supreme authority, or heaven defying beauty, or cure for an incurable disease, or immortality, or revival of the dead, or even the entire world, as long as it was within the capability of that mythical beast, anyone could simply ask for it. Changing one's life wasn't too far of reach anymore with the use of its golden hair.
But in exchange, instead of turning into a tamed beast, the Tikbalang would lose its life and vanish from existence. It was simply using its own life energy as the price for fulfilling one's wish. As much as it do good, there came the equal price.
However, no one managed to catch such a kind of beast for the past hundreds of years. It only spread through rumors that it had been seen in the White Wilderness, but no one had ever proved its credibility. The last time its kind had appeared and been caught by someone was 600 years ago when a lunatic bastard wished for the drastic change of the entire world.
The peaceful and simple civilization of humanity became a world of magic where war and chaos frequently happened across all ages. Kingdoms against kingdoms, government against revolution, the conflict between all races could only go from worse to worst.
Until one day, a meteor fell from the heavens.
A giant pit. An endless and bottomless one was created through that giant meteor. From that day onwards, the situation among all living beings in the entire world went from worst to something unresolvable.
And right now...
