Jungle Biome, OverWorld
Dawn
Steve and Alex were following behind Wendy and Eve. The two of them were chatting with each other. Steve and Alex were oddly quiet. Following behind them were other members of the resistance. The blockheads behind them were all carrying torches.
As the sun continued to rise on the horizon, the nightlife that dominated the jungle last night were now preparing to go back to sleep for the day. The animals that roam the OverWorld during the day began waking up.
"I wonder what they're chatting about," Steve whispered to Alex.
Wendy and Eve were a few blocks in front of them. Neither Steve nor Alex could make out what they were talking about. As the seconds passed, they grew more curious.
"Probably nothing we need to worry about I'm sure," Alex responded.
"But aren't you just a little curious?" Steve questioned.
Alex scoffed. She looked over at Steve and shook her head at him. "You're so nosey, you know that?" Alex mentioned.
Steve shrugged his shoulders. "Not nosey. I just want to be in-the-know at all times."
"If it's important, I'm sure they'd share it with us," Alex stated.
"Yeah...I guess you're right," Steve said, "I wonder where we're headed."
"Obviously their secret hideout," Alex said, "where else would we be going?"
As Steve and Alex conversed amongst themselves, two blockheads walking behind them thought it'd be funny to mess around with Steve and Alex a bit.
"Hey Mike," Josh whispered to Mike, who was walking next to him. Mike looked over at Josh. With a mischievous smile on his face, Josh leaned in closer to Mike. He held his hand up in front of his mouth so that Steve and Alex couldn't hear what he was about to say.
"Sounds like these two aren't from around here," Josh whispered, "let's mess around with them."
At first Mike didn't seem interested in Josh's childish act he was about to put on. With the Jungle being so dense, it made spotting things difficult. For all anyone knew, a tiger or cheetah could be watching them from behind some bushes or something.
As for Mike and Josh, they've been through this jungle dozens of times in the past. Because they've traveled through this biome so much, they knew almost everything there was to know about it. Getting lost was not a worry for them.
"What do you have in mind?" Mike questioned in a soft and quiet tone. Josh leaned in closer to him once more and whispered into Mike's ear.
Steve and Alex were minding their own business, not worrying about anything happening around them. It had seemed as though they were in their own little world. Because of that, they were making it extremely easy for Josh and Mike to spook them.
Suddenly the bushes rustled. Steve and Alex abruptly stopped walking and looked over to their right. The Jungle was still very dangerous even during the day.
"Watch this," Josh whispered to Mike. Josh inhaled heavily. He pointed his arm over at the bushes that rustled.
"Oh my god!" Josh shouted as loudly as he could. Josh had managed to not only spook Steve and Alex, but everyone else as well. Eve and Wendy both turned around to see what all the commotion was about. "What is that?!"
"What was that?" Alex questioned as the bushes shook once more. Steve and Alex both couldn't take their eyes off of the bushes. Wondering what was causing the bush to rustle and shake frightened them.
Steve quickly grabbed his sword out of his inventory. He held it tightly in his hands. Alex, too, grabbed her sword as well. Together, the both of them were prepared to defend themselves. Mike and Josh stood in place, staring at Steve and Alex. Holding back on laughing was very difficult. The two of them tried their best, eventually giving up. They both began laughing hysterically.
Steve and Alex glanced over at Mike and Josh. Why are they laughing so uncontrollably? Are they laughing at Steve and Alex? Or was it because of something else?
"What's so funny?" Alex asked in an irritated and upset tone. Whatever it was they were laughing at, it angered Alex.
Mike and Josh couldn't help themselves. Trying not to laugh wasn't easy. About a minute later, they both stopped laughing. As they caught their breaths, Mike had managed to answer Alex's question.
"You two," Mike responded as he burst out laughing again, "that's why."
"That's not very nice," Steve said, "that's mean!"
Mike and Josh began to calm down. Steve and Alex put their swords back into their inventory. It wasn't very nice of Mike and Josh to pick on them like that.
"Haven't you heard of a joke before?" Josh questioned as he stared over at Steve and Alex.
"You know….you two don't seem like the " savior" type of blockhead. You're more like scaredy-cats if you ask me," Josh had mentioned. Mike nodded his head as he agreed with Josh. If they were true saviors, they wouldn't be afraid of nothing. Not Zombies. Not Endermen. Not even Creepers.
"To be fair, we didn't even know about prophecy. Much less being named a savior in this prophecy," Alex responded.
Wendy had heard enough of their bickering back and forth. She walked over to Steve, Alex, Mike and Josh. Her arms were crossed. Because Josh and Mike wanted to be reckless and act childish, Eve decided on what she needed to do to stop their uncalled for behavior.
"Because you two want to be mean to these two, you'll both be assigned to scouting towers for the remainder of the day and overnight," Wendy said, "and no you can't complain or whine about it. You brought that upon yourselves. Now apologize right now!"
Mike and Josh both began blushing. They were blushing mainly because they were embarrassed by the scene that Wendy had caused. The blockheads behind Mike and Josh stood in place staring at them.
"We're sorry we teased you like that," Josh said in a sincere and soft voice. "It was only intended to be a joke."
Alex and Steve looked at each other briefly before looking back over and Mike and Josh. They faintly smiled and nodded their heads.
"Apology accepted," Steve mentioned, "no hard feelings."
Wendy smiled. She uncrossed her arms. "Don't do that again."
"We won't," Mike responded.
"Good," Wendy said as she turned around. She glanced over at Steve and Alex.
"Don't mind them," Wendy said, "they're known to do stuff like that to new blockheads. Just ignore them." After she had said that, she walked away. Once she managed to catch up to Eve, everyone proceeded on to walk.
A couple of minutes later, everyone had come upon a mountain with a large cave entrance. The inside of the cave was very well lit. Blockheads could be seen entering and exiting the cave. The sun was almost directly above them, indicating that the day was already halfway over.
On both sides of the cave entrance, there were two tall wooden exposed towers. Two blockheads could be seen on both of them. One blockhead had spotted them. He rang the bell three times.
"They're back!" One scout shouted loudly, "let them pass."
"Where are we?" Steve asked as he was amazed by how much scenery there was to look around at. "Is this where your hideout is located?"
Wendy and Eve stopped walking. They both turned around to face everyone. Wendy nodded.
"Welcome to the resistance's home base," Wendy said, "I can assure you two that you're very safe here. No harm will come about. Not as long as we're around. You're all safe here. I promise."
