A Shapeshifting Warlock

Time had seemed to get ahead of Steve, Alex and Eve. The day was already halfway over. The three resistance members escorted them to the front gates. As they approached the front gates, the blockheads in charge at the gates opened them.

Steve, Alex, and Eve along with their not-so-friendly companions all walked out of the resistance's base. The gates slowly closed behind them. Steve, Alex and Eve were released from being held against their will.

"You can't leave us out here alone," Eve said, begging for forgiveness. Steve's obnoxious attitude was the reason Wendy refused to help them. If only he didn't get upset.

One blockhead grabbed a glass bottle out of his inventory. It was filled with a red liquid. He pulled the cork out of the bottle. He sniffed it. He turned his head away from the bottle because of the foul smell the liquid had.

"Don't worry," he said, "it tastes better than it smells. I promise you."

"No way am I drinking that," Eve said.

"You have to," the blockhead said, "Wendy told us to wipe your memories."

The blockheads standing behind him were intimidating to look at. Their stance made them look tough and mighty. They were holding their Netherite swords in their hands. One, strangely, threw his sword onto the ground.

He walked over to his friend and snatched the glass bottle out of his hand. Eve, Steve, and Alex were curious to know why he had done that. He then turned around and faced the tall cobblestone wall. He lifted his arm and retracted it. He then threw his arm forward, releasing the glass bottle.

It went flying into the wall, smashing into tiny bits of broken glass. The liquid spilled out, splattering all over the wall. It slowly seeped down the wall and onto the ground.

He turned around and made eye contact with Steve, Alex and Eve. He faintly smiled. He then walked over and picked his sword up off of the ground.

"Take this," he said, "it'll protect you from the predators that lurk within this jungle."

Eve grabbed the sword out of his hand. When she did that, she almost lost her balance because it was so heavy. Heavy it was, but a noble weapon indeed. It took a minute for Eve to manage to pick it up and hold it.

"The name's Jake," Jake said with a smile on his face, "if your friends really are the saviors, then you'll need all the weapons and armor you can get."

Eve looked at the Netherite sword in her hand. Steve and Alex were examining it's odd beauty. Sure it was black, but it was still shiny.

"Wendy's not going to be happy with you once I inform her of your actions," Jake's fellow resistance blockhead said, "you're disobeying her orders."

"No need Conner," Jake said as he briefly glanced over at Steve, Alex and Eve.

"No need? What? What are you trying to say?" Conner said as he scratched his head. He wasn't following what Jake was trying to say.

"I just realized that maybe I should part ways with the Resistance. Wendy founded the Resistance for one reason. To have the entire OverWorld be United and at peace. Tell me Conner….how much progress have we made since Wendy founded the Resistance?" Jake lectured Conner, finishing his point with that question.

Conner scoffed. He looked back over his right shoulder at Joe. Joe was a good friend of his. Joe shrugged his shoulders back at Conner. Even he didn't have the answer to Jake's question. Conner looked directly back at Jake.

"See? Even you two don't know," Jake said, "I joined the resistance in hopes of fulfilling my urge for revenge on Nora. She took everything from me. My best friend, my mother...and my….and my son."

"Everyone has a reason to be a part of the Resistance. Even I do. But planning takes time. You can't conceive a well thought out plan overnight. I assume Wendy is working on a plan as we speak. In time we will get our revenge. But until then, we must wait. Patience is key you know," Conner explained to Jake.

Jake rolled his eyes at Conner. Being patient, per usual, was not easy. It wasn't just Jake who seeked out revenge on Nora. Many other blockheads wanted that too. As far as anyone knew, their time would come soon enough.

"I'm going with them," Jake stated, "if this prophecy of theirs is in fact true, they're going to need all the help they can get. I thought the Resistance was right for me, but now I'm thinking otherwise."

"If you want to leave, then so be it," Conner said, "but once you walk away, you won't be welcomed back ever again in the future. Just so you're aware."

Jake smiled sarcastically and shrugged his shoulders. "I didn't plan on returning."

Conner sighed heavily. Everyone could sense he was frustrated with Jake's sudden decision. "If you insist on leaving, I hereby wish you farewell and goodbye."

After Conner had said that, he quickly glanced over at Steve, Alex and Eve. He dramatically rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"Some saviors you are," Conner said, "whomever wrote that prophecy must've done so just for widespread fame. I don't believe anything once so ever. That prophecy is a fake in my opinion. But then again, I could be wrong."

"You are," Alex blurted out in a loud voice, "I think you're just jealous."

Conner scoffed and rolled his eyes once more. He then turned around and started walking away. Joey followed right behind them. The gates opened, and the two of them walked through. After Conner and Joey were gone, Jake looked over at Steve, Alex, and Eve.

Everyone remained silent, not knowing what to say to anybody. Eve was still holding the Netherite sword in her hand. Who knew something as simple as a sword could look so jaw-droppingly beautiful.

"We should probably move out," Jake suggested, "the day is almost over. Trust me when I say this….you don't want to be out here in the Jungle at night. This place may seem friendly during the day, but dangerous at night."

Steve, Alex, Eve and Jake began making their way back into the dense and harsh jungle before them. But little did they know that something was watching their every move.

Resting on a branch up in the tree was a falcon. It's claws were lodged into the branch of the tree. It fluffed it's wings a couple of times. After it had done that, it extended its long wings and began flapping its wings aggressively.

As it flapped its wings, it quickly flew off and into the sky. It began making noises as it flew over the Jungle. As it flew, it dodged objects that were in its way. Located nearby was a special tree.

Built around the tree's thick trunk was a treehouse. It was built out of oakwood planks, cobblestone, and glass for the windows. The falcon swooshed down, rapidly descending down to the treehouse.

There was a small balcony outside with wooden fencing. The falcon, just before it landed onto the floor, it flapped its wings vigorously. It then landed gently onto the floor.

After it landed, it immediately began walking towards the door. Blue smoke started to swirl around the falcon. As the smoke grew thicker, it engulfed the falcon completely. What was happening?

About a minute later, the blue smoke disappeared, leaving behind no traces of the falcon. What was seen once the smoke cleared was an elder blockhead. He had a long grey beard, a blue robe with stars on it, and a white hat on his head.

The blockhead walked up to his door and quickly opened it. He sprinted on over to his bookshelf.

The inside of his house was somewhat cramped. There were two red beds in the corner, a cauldron full of water, and a furnace. Next to the furnace was a small wooden chest. It must be full of valuable stuff right?

He had managed to find the book he was looking for. He opened it and instantly began flipping through the pages. As he continued to do that, he suddenly came upon something that caught his attention.

It was a couple of names. The page he was reading looked something like this:

==Saviors of the OverWorld==

Steve

Alex

Annabeth

Sedrick

"Holy hay bales," he shouted.

A female blockhead came running into the room, wondering what had happened. She walked over to him to see what was up.

"You okay Merlin?" She asked.

Merlin took his eyes off of his book for just a second. He looked over at her. He nodded his head.

"Of course I am," Merlin answered, "I think we just stumbled upon something big here, Leona."

"And what's that?" She asked.

"Hope," Merlin answered.
