Nightmare's Castle
Snowy Tundra Biome, OverWorld
"My Queen," a guard said as he walked into the throne room. Nightmare was sitting in her chair. Her chair was situated right in front of tall and wide glass windows that extended from the floor to the ceiling.
Black smoke was emitting from her body. Her bright yellow eyes glowed bright. Intimidating and scary, they were. That didn't stop the guard from approaching her though. To his right, the fire in the fireplace continued to burn. The burning wood smell was pleasant.
Standing right next to Nightmare was EnderBrine. He had his hands behind his back. Standing to Nightmare's left was a black, shadowy figure. Her eyes glowed bright red.
"Is everyone ready?" Nightmare asked as she leaned in closer to the entity standing to her left. The entity looked over at her and nodded her head once.
"Good," Nightmare said as she waved her hand around in the air. The entity with red eyes vanished into thin air. Nightmare then got up from her chair and began approaching the guard.
"What is it?" Nightmare asked.
The guard kneeled down as she flew over to him. EnderBrine remained standing over by the throne chair. He was silently watching Nightmare and the guard talk.
"The goblins have managed to capture him," the guard mentioned as he stood back up.
"Capture who?" Nightmare questioned.
The guard turned around and looked back in the direction of the entrance to the throne room. Two more guards entered the throne room with a blockhead in shackles. He was wearing a pumpkin over his head. Nightmare could faintly hear the blockhead shouting and complaining.
"The warlock," the guard responded.
Nightmare flew over to the two guards. The guards suddenly stopped walking to let her examine their captured hostage. She looked at both of the guards.
"Take it off," Nightmare said, "let me see his face."
The two guards both grabbed the pumpkin and began lifting it off of the hostage's head. As the pumpkin came off, NightMare could finally see the blockhead's face. She faintly smiled.
"Well done," NightMare said, "I'm very pleased. Where are the goblins who caught him at?"
"They told us that they were going back out to catch the witch," the guard said.
Nightmare scratched her head. "You mean to tell me there's more than one?"
"Precisely, yes," one guard responded.
Merlin stared at Nightmare. Once the pumpkin was off, he became very quiet. He was at a loss for words. When the guard said the goblins were going back out to catch the witch, Merlin instantly knew who they were hunting down. They were hunting down his wife Leona.
"Wait! Wait! Please. I beg you," Merlin said as he dropped down onto his knees. He held his hands up as he looked up at Nightmare. "Spare Leona. She's done nothing wrong."
"She's an obstacle in my path. As long as she's around, my plan will never be carried out. She's a threat!" Nightmare said.
The two guards holding the chains that were connected to the shackles on Merlin, yanked the chains back. Merlin was forced back up onto his feet.
"As are you," Nightmare said as she glanced down at her hands. Her hands were glowing a bright yellow, just like her eyes. She then looked back up at Merlin and smiled. "And that's why you must be dealt with."
Nightmare then turned around and held her arms out straight. She then blasted two bright yellow beams over at her throne chair. But instead of hitting the chair and destroying it, the yellow beams struck an invisible wall.
Purple smoke could be seen as Nightmare continued to blast the invisible wall. Suddenly, a growing oval shape could be seen forming. Merlin watched in horror as Nightmare opened a portal back to her home world—the Eternal Darkness Dimension.
"What—what are you doing?" Merlin shouted, still unable to figure out what Nightmare was doing. But then it all became clear to him. He had realized what it was she was doing.
Nightmare stopped blasting her powers. The portal was now fully open. But strangely though, it was dark on the other side. Suddenly though, Merlin could faintly see outlines of entities that looked just like Nightmare. They all opened their eyes. One by one, the entities on the other side of the portal opened their eyes. Everyone's eyes were red.
Then they began flying through the portal. Merlin looked over at Nightmare. He could see her smiling. This wasn't good at all. This was very bad.
"Welcome everyone," Nightmare said, "to the OverWorld. Soon to be a place where dreams are crushed, and heroes eradicated. Don't worry though. The real fun begins at dawn."
As the entities continued to fly through the portal, the weather outside suddenly became very cloudy and dark. Rainy and cold. Thunder cracked loudly, and lightning struck.
"What have you done?" Merlin said, "you monster."
Nightmare sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. She turned around to look at Merlin and the two guards. She waved her hand around in the air once, freeing Merlin from the shackles. But instead of letting him go, she used her magic once more.
Nightmare's hand began glowing yellow, as did Merlin's entire body. He was unable to move, but he kept on squirming. He gritted his teeth at Nightmare.
"Let me go, you demon!" Merlin snapped as his body began lifting up off of the floor. He was now floating in midair.
"Now why would I do that? After all the effort I put in to finding you would just be wasted. Sorry, not sorry!" Nightmare said as she turned around to face the open portal. She held her right arm out straight.
Merlin began floating closer and closer to the portal, flying past all the entities that had just come through it. He made eye contact with EnderBrine once more before he had flown through the portal.
Nightmare released him from her magical restraints. He fell to the ground, landing on his stomach. He quickly got back up and looked over at the portal. Without hesitating, he began running towards the portal. He was hoping he would be able to get back through before she closed it.
He ran up to the portal and tried to walk back through, but he couldn't. Merlin shouted and screamed for Nightmare to free him from wherever he was.
"Let me out! Let me go!" Merlin shouted as he came up with an idea. He quickly reached into his inventory to grab his wooden wand out. He tried focusing his powers to activate his wand, but to no avail.
"Pro tip, Merlin," Nightmare said, "magic doesn't work in the Eternal Darkness dimension."
Right after she had said that, the portal began shrinking. It was closing! Merlin was still trapped. How was he going to get himself out of this situation?
After the portal had closed, he fell to his knees. He lowered his head, dropping his wand onto the ground. As he sat on the ground, all alone in the dark, he began thinking of Leona. What's going to happen to her? Can she stand her ground? Will she be captured too?
Merlin began to get emotional. He couldn't bear the fact that he was all alone, in an all new dimension. The only thing on his mind was Leona.
"Oh Leona," Merlin mumbled to himself, "I've let you down this time for sure. I should've listened. I'm—I'm so sorry."
Like all other times, Leona was right. Merlin should've taken her advice on being too helpful. But he couldn't resist. Doing that would make him feel worthless and unsatisfied.
Not only was he thinking about Leona, but he was also thinking about Steve and Alex. His original plan was to help them defeat Nightmare. But plans changed.
TinkerTown
Desert Biome, OverWorld
Steve, Alex, Jake, and Eve all rushed back outside to find out what was going on. How could it be that only a moment ago, the skies were clear but now they're not? Thunder cracked and lightning struck. Every time the lightning struck, it lit up the cloudy sky.
Steve and Alex were wearing their newly forged Netherite armor. The armor was black and shiny. Everyone in TinkerTown was looking up at the sky. One blockhead saw black entities flying around in the air. He pointed at them and shouted.
"Incoming!" The blockhead shouted, "everyone seek shelter now!"
Steve and Alex looked up into the air. They saw the entities flying down towards the town fast. Steve held his Netherite sword tightly in his hands. He closed his eyes. When he did that, his sword burst into flames. The entire length of the blade was burning, except for the handle.
Steve opened his eyes and saw what he had managed to do. Some sword this was. Whatever enchantment Oliver used on this sword, must've been a real powerful one.
Jake, Eve, and Alex all took a step away from him. Everyone was fascinated with what his sword was capable of. Does Alex's sword do that too? She closed her eyes and did the same thing Steve did.
Her sword's blade burst into flames too.
"Awe cool!" Alex said in an excited tone, "now what do we do?"
Steve glanced over to his right at Alex. But just before he could say something, a black entity flew right into him. He fell backwards onto his back. The entity was on top of him.
"So you're the saviors Nightmare was talking about huh?" The entity said.
"Nightmare?" Eve questioned, "who's that?"
The entity looked over at Eve. He stared directly at her and smiled evilly.
"Oh you don't know, do you?" He said, "well I guess you'll just have to wait and see for your—," he said as Alex's flaming sword suddenly cut his head clean off of his body.
Steve pushed the entity's body off of him. He got back up onto his feet and picked his sword up off of the ground. It was still burning.
"I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be the day," Steve mentioned to everyone.
"The day for what?" Alex questioned. She had a possible answer in mind, but wanted to hear what he had to say before she answered.
"The battle," Steve answered, "tomorrow...we fight! We will bring this so-called Nightmare down, along with her allies too. No more waiting. We must act now before it's too late."
