Chapter 5

As Jane wakes up, she feels a rush of pain fill her body. She cries and tries not to move. She can't really see anything except the bright light of what seems to be the sun. There's only a small hole above her. Did she fall through the ceiling and make that hole? Where is she? She can only cry. She looks at her leg and sees the bone sticking out. It's as clear as day. She panics and looks around. There has to be someone there to help her. There's a fluttering sound from behind her.

Jane looks at where the sound came from and sees a pair of glowing green eyes. Her heart pounds as the creature gets closer. She can't run because her leg is broken.

As the eyes get closer to the light above her, it's clear that the owner is a girl. Not human but still has some human features. Her hair is a gradient between blue and green along with her eyes. Her pupils are glowing bright green. 4 transparent wings are stationary behind her. There are green scales on her cheeks that seem to glimmer in the light like diamonds.

She reaches her hand out to Jane's face. "¿Estas bien?" She asks but Jane doesn't understand. The girl tilts her head. "¿No hablas español? İspanyolca bilmiyor musun? Do you understand English?" That time Jane understood. The child nods slowly. The girl smiles. "I'm Kia. That wound looks pretty bad, let me help you." She pulls out a small vile and drinks something from in it. She then proceeds to spit it out onto Jane's broken leg.

Jane looks at the girl, annoyed and disgusted. A light glow emerges from the wound and her leg starts to heal. She jumps a bit. Kia puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "Don't worry, just relax." When the wound was completely closed and healed, Kia helps Jane up. Compared to Jane, Kia is the size of a full grown adult.

She holds a hand out to the child. "What's your name?" Kia asks. Jane taps her throat and shakes her head. "You...you can't speak?" Jane nods. "Oh, my friend can help with that! He's helped others with stuff like that." She takes the human's hand and walks off into the dark.

She moves a rock that leads to a forest. There are trees the size of skyscrapers. Some sunlight peeks through to the bottom and there are many vines hanging from the branches. Raindrops from the oversized leaves. Kia picks up Jane and flies up. Jane panics and holds on tight to Kia.

Kia lands on the porch of a house perched on one of the branches of a tree. She puts the shaken human down and knocks on the door. After a few seconds, the door opens and a small spider-like creature that is made of metal and has a light bulb as it's back walks up to them. Kia smiles and picks it up. "Hello Aca. Is the workaholic here?" It seems to nod.

Kia giggles. "Of course he is. Come on friend." She says as she takes Jane's hand and walks inside.
