Chapter 2

15 years later:

"Olive! Olive! Olive!" screamed my older brother Jasper, "WAKE UP!"

"Lord have mercy. Jacob I am awake, what do you want?" I asked with a yawn.

"IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!" My brother squealed while ripping the blanket off of me, "No, no, no I don't want to hear your excuses. Get dressed and meet me downstairs!"

I was exhausted. I had a fight yesterday. I work in an underground club as a fighter to help my parents out with the bills. I hopped out of bed and threw on some leggings, a Julliard hoodie, and my black Nike's.

I was met in the kitchen with my adopted parents Jackson and Claire. They were the sweetest people ever and I love them so much I can't even begin to explain the amount. They try their best to provide for us as a school teacher and a volunteer firefighter. "Good morning beautiful! Happy birthday!" Claire whisperer in my ear.

"I was planning on letting you skip school today. Would you want to go instead?" Jackson asked with a smirk.

"Who the fuck would want to go to school?" I said with a laugh.

They all looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Watch your mouth," Jackson said.

"Well I'm going to go for a walk to town. Anyone wanna join?" I asked.

They all shook their heads as I grabbed my purse and made my way out of the house. I walked along the sidewalk when I heard a voice in the alley. "I swear! I-I'll get you the m-money!" A scared mans voice begged.

"Too late. I-"

He couldn't finish by the time I walked out to look him in the face. "Hey....how y'all doin?" I said awkwardly free of fear and with subtle confidence.

"Get out of here little girl. He won't hesitate

to kill you." The scared man said.

I looked at the big man holding the man by the dollar. He looked oddly familiar but I have no idea where I know him from.

He dropped the man. The scared man ran passed me with holding his breath.

"Come into the light little one," the man said in a softer voice.

"What the fuck," I said with a laugh, "what makes you think I'm going listen to you?"

"O-Olive?" He said stepping in front of me, "I-I-it's Sean!"

"Well that's creepy," I said staring into his eyes. I looked at him and did what only a sane person would do. Yes bitch. I ran.

I ran fast. It was part of my training so if he had decided to follow me, he wouldn't have made it very close.

Sean POV:

I was in the middle of a deal with a guy who was in debt with us in Chicago when a girl came out of nowhere. "Hey....how y'all doin?" She said with confidence but awkwardly due to the scene in front of her.

I couldn't see her but she gave off a cold

vibe like my best friend Dominic but at the same

time a warm vibe like Isadora. No it couldn't be. Is that their daughter? I'd have to get a closer look at her eyes. Olive had one brown and one blue. If this girl had the eyes there was no doubt that she was their daughter.

The weakling in my hand said something but I was too focused trying to see the features of the girl. I dropped him to the ground and he immediately ran out.

"Come into the light little one." I could see her debating on something until she clicked out of it and started laughing.

"What the fuck?" She said trying to stop the laughter coming out of her mouth, "what makes you think I'll listen to you?"

Yep. She's definitely got her moms attitude. She stepped forward into the light. She had the eyes. She had her dads dark brown hair. She had her mother's beautiful features. She was their daughter.

"O-olive?" I asked with disbelief, "I-it's me Sean."

Well of course I knew she wouldn't remember me but I had a sliver of hope. "Well that's creepy," she stated with a face that wasn't scared but more like dismissing the fact that I, a random man on the streets knew her name.

I was going to tel her to come with me but she stared right into my eyes and in a blink she was already out of the alley. I knew I shouldn't chase her but I couldn't help it. I ran about three blocks behind her but was losing her. Damn this girl could run.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Dominics number. After three rings he answered. "What?" He asked his voice laced with venom.

"Woah, is that a way to talk to your best friend?" I asked with a smirk.

"I'm having a bad day Sean. What do you want?" He asked with a sigh.

I then remembered it was Olives birthday. Her whole family mourns her loss everyday, but on her birthday they all are miserable. "Okay you need to listen to me Dom."

"Ok"

"I think I found your daughter."

"That's not funny. You're fired."

"DOMINIC THIS IS NO JOKE. GET A FLIGHT TK CHICAGO NOW!"

With that I hung up the phone and went back to my hotel with only one thought on my mind. My niece. My little one.
