Chapter 9

OLIVE POV:

We made our way out of the plane in silence and towards the three SUV's. "Olive we are taking you home." Isadora said to me adoringly.

I nodded and continued walking.

Maybe I should give them a shot. But what if they are like them? What if they don't actually like me? I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of a gunshot.

The next thing I know is Antonio shooting back and Lorenzo dropping to the ground. I ran towards Enzo and observed his wounds. I ignored the searing pain in my shoulder and added pressure to his stomach. "Thanks Sorella," he gathered a pained smile which I immediately returned with frantic and worried look. I was running out of breath, for some reason all I wanted to do was protect him.

Damien pulled me away as Mom and Dad ran towards him. Mom started ordering people around as Dad was whispering to Enzo. "You're okay baby. Calm down, he'll be okay."

I didn't realize I was crying until Antonio, Roman, and Romeo came over, wiped my tears and whispered consoling things in my ears. "It's my fault. I-It's my fault." I cried. I started to feel a panic attack creeping up. "I-If y-ou didn't come to g-get me, w-we wouldn't b-be in this situation."

Gio started walking towards us and picked me up and carried me away. "It's alright butterfly. I need you to calm your breathing. Follow my breathing"

I put my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. My breathing started to normalize and my breaths became even. "Mom's a doctor. Her, Sean, and Dad are on the way to the hospital now." He spoke calmly and quietly.

The rest of the boys approached us and Romeo spoke, "Mom says that he should be fine and that the bullet missed any major organs." he rubbed my back.

"We should all go check on Enzo soon." Antonio spoke in a colder voice. "Damien, take Olive home to get a shower. Romeo, Roman, and Gio will all come with me to the hospital."

Damien nodded as Gio set me to the ground. He whispered in my ear, "Butterfly he'll be okay. Go with Damien and up the stairs. Enter the first door on your left, that's my room, take any cloths you want." I nodded and walked towards the car where Damien was sitting in in the drivers seat. I hopped into the passengers seat and put my head against the cold window. I had been sitting in the car for 10 minutes and Damien hadn't said a word to me. I take a minute to take a look at him. Suddenly I get a memory of a little me, sitting at a piano playing Clair De Lune with a boy leaning over with his hands over mine. It was Damien, I recognized his lighter brown eyes.

"You okay?" Damien asked me.

"Yeah. Do you know how to play piano?"

"Yes. I actually taught you your first couple notes." he replied.

I looked at him, "Clair De Lune?"

He stopped at the red light and turned to me with a surprised look. "Yeah. You loved it so much you made me hum it to you when you were going to sleep."

"I remember." I said.

We rode in the car for another fifteen minutes when we arrived at a the biggest mansion I've ever seen. Damien and I walk into the house as he leads me to Gios room. He points to the first do on the left and walks away to what I assume is his room.

I enter Gios room and immediately notice the dark ambiance of the room. The black curtains, black quilt, gray walls and everything dark except a little white frame sitting on his dresser. I approached it and saw a picture of him as a boy with me as a toddler going down a slide at the park. I realized just then how much they missed me and just as much as I realized I needed them.

I strip and get into the shower and wash away all of Enzos blood. I honestly felt guilty. If they hadn't needed to get me, he would've been fine. But why were there people shooting at us? Are they in danger?

I turned the burning water off and grabbed a towel. I looked at myself in the mirror and the tears started up again. Why the hell am I even crying? It's not like I've known him that long. Why should I even be upset?

Deep down I know the answer. I prided myself enough not to admit it. I loved them. I may have only known them for a couple hours but I can confirm: I would die for each and every one of them if it came down to it.

I walked into Gios closet and grabbed a hoodie which had his last name and number fourteen on the back of it. I assumed it was a sports hoodie. I also grabbed a pair of leggings in a bin of girl cloths in the corner of the closet. I don't even want to know why these are here but I'm going to assume that they are Gios.

I put on the cloths and walked sat on his bed waiting for Damien to come back in. I began to look at the picture again. I sat there until I heard a voice behind me, "I was your favorite you know."

I jumped a little but nodded. "We missed you, more then you could ever know."

"I don't think that I realized it until Enzo got shot, but I realized that maybe you guys aren't that bad. And I don't think that I realized it at first, but I already had a place for you in my heart before I met you. I knew I was missing something, I could tell, I-I don't know how to explain it but I could tell that someone was out there that really wanted me." I ranted with a few stray tears. Lord have mercy I haven't cried in years.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked walking towards me.

"I'll tell you all eventually."

"It's not your fault for Enzo." he said firmly.

I was about to speak when he cut me off, "Do you know why you haven't been with us all this time?"

I shook my head waiting for him to speak.

"Me. I was the reason you were taken from us. We'll explain more later but it was my fault. I should have been watching you and I looked away. I promise I would've taken your spot if I could've. I am so so so sorry." He had a sad expression with a couple of tears. He was now sitting at the end of the bed staring at me like I was his pride and joy.

I walked up to him and sat next to him on the bed. He picked me up and put me on his lap. He put his head in my shoulder and I started to feel warm tears on my neck. "Hey, there's nothing to forgive. I assure you Damien, I don't care about the past anymore. It's only the future from here." I say as I run my hands through his hair.
