Chapter 6

Emily had filled the bathtub with water she walked back to the room after putting Uriah in the bathtub she looked at the knights they all had their armor off except the offensive knight she ignored it and continued cooking the aroma of the slug was intoxicatingly surprisingly good "look miss I'm sorry for what our friend said but half of what my friend said is true he needs friends a child living in seclusion isn't good."

Emily Turned around she looked at the the knight who had spoke his face was pale his hair and eyes were a light black. Emily sighed "I know..... but I can't your friend.... is right..." Emily said everyone looked at her confused "w-what do you mean?" The same knight said Emily looked at the slug "last month there was a blood moon which.... I guess was the first time my son awoken he turned into a dragon and headed west of here to a small village filled with many people children included..... he burned the entire village down killing most of the people luckily I got there before he had hurt the children I managed to get him to calm down but the damage was already done..... over two thousand died."

Everyone looked at her surprised "w-what happened to the children?" One knight said "some about three were eaten two were mutilated five were injured some of those five left permanently disabled roughly four hundred and ninety were left unharmed." Emily said she began to look down and frowned the helmeted knight jumped up slamming his hand on the table "your child isn't even a child your boy is a monster!" He said Emily looked up at him angered "you have no right to talk about MY son and don't ever call him a monster!" Emily said the knight glared at her angered that she wouldn't accept something hurtful about her son.

Emily heard the door creak open she looked behind herself and it had been Uriah dressed in his sleeping ware he looked at her confused and upset "mommy what's going on?" He said Emily looked at him she quickly got up she opened the door and hugged him "nothing we... we're just talking about their departure how they should leave soon." Emily said Uriah looked at the man that had still been injured "but mommy the mans still healing?" He said Emily looked at him smiling "I know hon but they have to leave before your birthday cake is done after all there's only enough for you."

Uriah looked at Emily upset "mommy I don't mind sharing the cake plus can't you make it bigger?" He said Emily sighed she nodded walking towards the oven she pulled out a small cake she held her hands over it concentrating the cake turned a bit bigger she turned around to look at the man his sword had been pointing out Emily tried to ignore it she put the cake on the table she quickly sat down and had put Uriah on her lap she quickly gave him his piece of cake he quickly started to eat the most of all the soldier grabbed a piece expect the helmeted one.

The knight noticed the small necklace around the boys neck "what's that?" He said Uriah looked down at where he was looking at he found out he looked at the necklace uriah smiled "mommy gave it to me on my second birthday she said it would grow with me and it will be destroy when I'm gone." Uriah said he continue to eat the cake the knight looked at Emily surprised Emily looked back angered.

"So girl how would you feel if you could live in a home?" A knight said it had been one of the cake eaters Emily looked at him and so did Uriah a bit upset "I'm not a girl....." he said everyone looked at him the one who asked the question gulped "If you aren't a girl then why do you have long hair and your face it sorta looks like a girls?" He said Emily looked at the soldier she grabbed a nearby wooden cup and threw it at him "because were not near a village so I can't get his hair cut."

The man nodded he looked up "oh I know I know how to cut hair so I could cut his hair?" The soldier said Emily looked at her son Uriah looked at her cake filled in his face nodding Emily looked back at the soldier and nodded the man walked over and picked him up.

Twenty minutes later

Emily looked down to see the brown hair falling off until it was a short messy evenly cut hair his eyes and parts of his neck unlike last time were more visible his eyes were a light blue he looked at his mom smiling "mommy!" He said Emily backed up acting like she doesn't know the kid "now where did my boy go get little one have you seen my son he has long hair?" She said Uriah giggled "it's me mommy!" He said Emily smiled she hugged Uriah "my god Uriah your new hair cut is so adorable your unrecognizable!" Emily said Uriah smiled he looked up at his mom with a wider smile.

"Mommy why don't you get a haircut?" He said Emily looked at the nearest mirror her hair had become overgrown her used to be somewhat short blonde hair was now down to her knees she sighed "yeah sure but only up to my shoulder." Emily said the man nodded Emily sat down immediately he started cutting away at her hair large clamps of hair fell off until he was finished she looked back into the mirror her hair was now up to her shoulder she could now see more of her face.

She blushed if she hadn't known she had her hair cut she might have mistaken herself for someone else.
