Party Girl (Part 3)

Ratchet Rachel "Fuck the lockdown Girl! It's 4/20 and tomorrow's your birthday! I want to go out and play with my bestie, and trust me ye'r gonna wanna come out to this party.'' She says that every time. That said, 99% of the time, Violet was happy to have gone. "Can we do that thing, like last time?" Violet asks Rachel.

"Yeah, you need to see Johnny, tho?" Rachel knew what was up.

"Sounds good, tell'm I got Bits for him, and extra for some cash." Violet thought she was making a good decision for herself. She had once read that ecstasy had some qualities to it which aided therapy sessions in Texas during the 1980's. So she had the idea earlier, it might help with her grieving process. "I'll tell him to expect you later, and I expect to see you after that at the show. Are you bringing the Foggie?"

"Don't call him that, it's not his fault he's been around the sun a few times more than us." Violet defended Nick again. She was taking it too seriously for Rachel's tastes. "Combined."

"That's it! Rachel, you're my best friend, but I'm gonna need you to not make fun of my man any more, please?" Violet politely demanded.

"OK, OK, I didn't mean it that way, I'm sorry, I'll see you tonight, OK?" Rachel backed down, so Violet let it go. "OK, see you tonight."

Nick was good the last time they all went out together. I wasn't fair the way Rachel was picking on him. They had a wonderful time at the last party. Nick had even held his own against the young ladies, in how long he was able to hang and didn't complain about going home early, even once.

Violet thought she knew herself; between the grief surrounding her mother and the stuck feeling of the pandemic lockdown, She really needed to let loose. There was so much focus on pain in recent weeks, that Violet wanted to go back to focusing on pleasure. She just needed some fun, even if just for one night, to break her out of her funk, and start to feel good about her life again.

Nick was reading some crazy Sci-Fy novel on his Android tablet. He was going off for the last week about how he found the story on Webnovel.com. All he talked about was unicorns and mermaids but he said "it was told in a CyberPunk setting and it's about the dark side of religion." She didn't know why he liked it so much, but he was near obsessed.

It was nice to see him interested in something besides taking care of her needs. Not that she didn't appreciate it, Violet just needed to figure things out on her own, and that took time. She liked the enthusiasm he brought to storytelling as he described a wild fight in a mall between clowns and nuns.

Violet ran her fingers across Nick's broad shoulders, which gave him chills and got his attention away from finishing his novel. "Mmmm, hello." Nick says sweetly. "How's the birthday girl this morning?"

"I'm good. I'm thinking about going to a party with Rachel, tonight." Violet wasn't just thinking about it, she had decided to go, but she wanted to coax Nick into coming with her, so as to not be a ride hostage to Rachel or have to drive herself. Sure, she could just Uber, but that can take time if she just wanted to get out in a hurry. Violet wants more than protection, but rather, Nick's companionship.

"You can invite your friends too? It would be nice to meet them? 'She really just wants to have fun with her man.'" Violet sat in his lap and cuddles his neck. She knew how to make Nick do whatever she wants, but she wanted him to want to go, not just to go, for, her. "But what about the pandemic?" Nick asks, rightly.

"Damn!" She thought. "He doesn't want to go." "Shit, I said that out loud." She thought. Nick was confused.

"I ... I just thought, that with, what happened to your..." she cut Nick off.

"Yeah, you thought I'd just want to hide with you forever?"

Nick thought that was unfair, and didn't want her on his lap anymore. "Can I get up?" She climbs off him, and steps aside, then he stood up and took a few steps away from her.

"What was that? It felt quite unfair from where I'm standing. I'm only trying to protect you." Nick said.

Violet stands there, not wanting to feel bad about having a good time, "All I've thought about for the last month, was my mom. Can I have one night where I don't have to? If you want to protect me," she starts walking towards him, "how about you come out with me?" She touches his chest, her arms wrap around his neck, the endorphins race though his brain. "Be my big strong man, by my side."

They kiss.

"I'm not that strong, but OK, you've convinced me, but on one condition?" Nick concedes.

"And what's that?" She looks at him, in the eyes, batting her own, now she was hopeful.

"We go in our doctor/sexy nurse costumes, and wear appropriate PPE?" Nick could now go in good conscience, if she agreed.

Violet jokes, "OK, but that doctor's outfit is gonna look big on me."
