My Consequence (Part 2)

"Hello Dinah, it's nice to meet you." Violet said.

"Likewise, I've heard a bit about you and Nick, and the new little one on the way, congratulations!" Dinah was pleased to meet her. "This is Michelle, my fiancé." Dinah reached out her hand to show off the rock.

They all sit down to dinner at Buddakan on Chestnut Street. Over dinner they laugh and got to know each other. Dinah leaves her preconceptions at home for this introduction and is surprised by the maturity she shows for her age.

At one point, Michelle and Violet excuse themselves to the ladies room. Dinah slaps Nick's arm. "You are lucky that girl didn't kill you for what you did to her."

"She almost did." He says with a candor that slips by Dinah.

"You deserved it for what you pulled." Dinah's anger, for Violet's sake, is sincere.

"Apparently the universe decided that wasn't

true. Mainly because I was out with you that night." Nick suggests.

"Don't remind me." She adds.

"Damn, she's pissed." He thought.

"Our beautiful ladies have returned." Nick changes the subject. "Who wants desert?"

Michell says, "I do! That chocolate mousse is going in my belly." Michelle and Dinah laugh as a couple.

They order and progress the evening.

Michelle asks, "So what are you two doing these days now that the studio is closed?"

"Living off of Nick's Tesla investments and well, bitcoin tripled over the past few months, so money won't be a problem any more." Violet leans in to Nick, "Meanwhile, we've been preparing the nursery." Violet says. She's been showing for some time and now had that pregnancy glow.

Michell asks another question, "And what about your award? Didn't you get nominated for some adult entertainment award?"

"Yeah, I was, but priorities change. I'm sure they'll mail it to me if I win." Violet says with a nonchalance of someone who really didn't care, and thanks to Steve, she would likely never care. "How about you? When's the wedding? Could you do it before the baby comes so we don't have to cart the kid all over?" Violet jokingly adds.

"No promises, we aren't looking to rush it, I want to say 'My fiancé' about Michelle for a few months, it's fun, and I don't want the anticipation to stop." Dinah says sincerely.

*** 6 months later...

It's Christmas Day. Nick moved out of his apartment into Violet's house a few months ago, and they have turned it from Violet's parent's home, into their own.

The baby girl, Aster, slept quietly in the nursery as the new parents of a three day old, hover over their child. Their child.

They look at each other and nearly weep with happiness.

"Ruff" Pandora barks. She'd been a little jealous over the last few days. Thankfully, Aster didn't wake.

"I'll take her out, I need the exorcise." Violet says, looking forward to showing the dog some love.

"Sounds good, I'll guard the baby." Nick jokes.

"Mmm, my strong man. I love you. Nick.

"I love you too, Violet, beautiful mother of our child."
