Chapter 36: She's Already Dead, You Two Can't Be Together

On the following day, Ji Younai, personally took the urns containing parents' ashes to the cemetery and buried them there, allowing them to rest in peace in the tombs.

Gong Siyu accompanied her.

Looking at her parents' portraits on the tombstones, Ji Younai pondered something.

Since she had a "third eye", she could see ghosts.

So why couldn't she ever see the ghosts of her own parents?

Last night, she slept in Gong Siyu's room. With Gong Siyu accompanying her, she could more or less get a good night's sleep.

However, Ji Younai understood that she was a girl and couldn't keep pestering Gong Siyu to sleep with her forever just because she was afraid of ghosts.

That arrangement was only temporarily.

Besides, she needed a permanent way to never be able to see ghosts again and resume her normal life.

On the way back to Gong Siyu's home, Ji Younai recalled that Gong Siyu had told her about a man in the asylum whose surname was Feng. He had said that the man was a childhood friend of his, one who came from a family of psychics.

Looking up the meaning of the word 'psychic' on the Internet, she read, "A person who is psychic has the supernatural ability to communicate with the dead and see into the souls of the dead."

She thought maybe the childhood friend whom Gong Siyu mentioned could help her find a way to close her "third eye".

Ji Younai told Gong Siyu her thoughts.

"I was just thinking that maybe… Your childhood friend can think of a way for me to stop seeing ghosts? Can you tell me his address? I'd like to pay him a visit..."

Afte furrowing his eyebrows and pondering over it for a moment, Gong Siyu agreed. He felt that it wasn't a bad idea.

"However, you can't go by yourself. This childhood friend of mine is oddly withdrawn. He doesn't like meeting new people."

There was another reason that Gong Siyu didn't mention. That was…

He was afraid that if Ji Younai was to go alone and see how handsome his childhood friend, Feng Jinxuan, was, she would "dump" him!

To Ji Younai's surprise, Gong Siyu's courtyard house was actually very close to her own family's courtyard house. They were only three alleys and a street apart. It was also a secluded ancient courtyard, hidden in a gorgeous city of tall buildings.

"Gong Siyu, is your childhood friend very impressive?"

"All the people in his family are impressive people," Gong Siyu had no choice but to admit, "Let me put it this way. The Feng Family is a family of psychic mediums, all of whom are proficient in busting ghosts, performing exorcisms, Fengshui, divination, and Qigong. Besides, the history of their family can be traced back 3,000 years."

"Wow… Are they that mysterious?"

"Yes." Gong Siyu gazed mysteriously at the girl beside him and continued, "Ji Younai, you know, in my opinion, the rich and powerful people in this world are actually not that scary. Only people like the Feng Family are truly terrifying.

"They can kill invisibly without leaving any traces. They can also see through people's past and present lives. If they say that a person is destined to be rich, that person will definitely soar to great heights. It's as if people's fate of life and death is in their hands."

That was what Gong Siyu thought about the Feng Family ever since he was a child. Even the most powerful person in the country would have to show some respect to the mysterious family.

Although the Feng Family was not mega-rich, it was an existence that all the wealthy and powerful families, billionaires, and politicians would never dare offend. Hence, the Feng Family was simply above them all.

Feng Jinxuan was the heir of the Feng Family, and the next patriarch.

Like Gong Siyu, Feng Jinxuan also lived alone in this ostentatious Chinese courtyard house on the first ring road.

The servants reported.

Gong Siyu then led Ji Younai forward, following the servant into Feng Jinxuan's home.

"Young Master Gong, Young Master Feng is enjoying some tea and appreciating flowers in the backyard. Please be careful, pay attention and follow my footsteps. Don't go astray. Young Master Feng has changed the layout of this place and gave it a new formation. If you take a wrong step, blood will be shed," the servant spoke respectfully.

He was dressed in a gray colored, ancient-style robe, with a black belt tied around his waist. It was exactly like the dress code of a rich family's servant in ancient times.

Ji Younai felt as if they had opened a door to a new world.

'Formation? Is it similar to the five elements and eight trigrams formation?'

She'd only seen them in books. However, the ability to see ghosts could not even be explained by science.

In the ancient Chinese courtyard residence, there were lush green plants growing everywhere, as well as a wide array of rare and precious flowers that bloomed in the spring. In the terrace nearby, there was an artificial lotus pond, and in the center of the pond, there was a pavilion.

There was a whole new world in the ancient residence at the end of the alley. There was actually such a huge space in here!

She sighed in praise.

Suddenly, she heard Gong Siyu saying in a relaxed manner, "What are you doing? Are you really trying to go into stealth? You're hiding in this shabby place that's all run down and full of bugs."

Following Gong Siyu's gaze, Ji Younai saw a clear figure, as white as a moon, bending over to repair a branch.

"You've brought someone with you."

His voice was aloof and cold as ice, full of authority that was not to be violated.

"Yes."

"She's not Wen Yu."

Gong Siyu scoffed, shrugging when he heard the name 'Wen Yu.'

"Did she get chased away by you?"

He retorted, "Well, I don't like her."

Gong Siyu didn't answer. He simply suddenly tugged Ji Younai, placing her in front of him.

"Turn around and see if you like this one."

Hearing those words, the moon-white figure turned around leisurely and stared at Ji Younai with a mirthless smirk.

"If I say I like her, you'll wreck my place."

Gong Siyu snorted softly and haughtily.

Replying, he said, "It's good that you know."

He then introduced Ji Younai to him, "Little one, this is the childhood friend of mine whom I told you about. My best buddy, Feng Jinxuan."

Ji Younai was dumbfounded as she looked at the clear, moon-white figure of Feng Jinxuan, who was slowly turning around.

Have you ever seen an immortal?

Have you ever seen immortals who have never been marred by the mortal world?

She felt that the man wearing a Chinese robe as white as moonlight, who was not too far away from her at this moment, looked just like an immortal.

He was godlike, as suave and handsome as an immortal, unlike Gong Siyu, who had a devilish charm.

He seemed to have the natural elegance of an immortal too.

He was wearing a silvery, moonlight white, silk robe, which had auspicious clouds embroidered on it and a large patch of lotus patterns on the bottom hem. It was subtle, looking as if it was glowing.

His eyes were cold, calm, and distant. They looked as if they could see through both the past life and the present.

He looked like an immortal deity that could leave on a cloud at the very next moment.

He was handsome and dreamy.

Gong Siyu knew that Ji Younai would definitely act like a boy-crazy girl once she saw Feng Jinxuan. Hence, he turned to hold her small face and raised his eyebrows sinisterly.

He demanded threateningly, "Speak! Who is more handsome: me or him?!"

"Ah! He's gorgeous, but you're dashing! Your styles are so different! You two can't be compared to each other!"

"..."

At this moment, the sounds of light chuckling sounded from behind them.

Ji Younai turned around to take a look, realizing that the "immortal" had laughed!

"This one's great. She suits you, but..." With a frown and a complicated gaze, he stopped himself from saying what he wanted to.

"But what?"

His tone was calm and casual, but his words were frightening.

"But she's already dead, so you can't be together."

Ji Younai's smile stiffened when Feng Jinxuan spoke those words.

However, Gong Siyu was not bothered at all. He still looked cynical, like the rich man's son that he was.

"She died once but came back to life. Amazing, isn't it? You people from the Feng Family will probably say that she has been resurrected and her soul has returned."
