It was probably said intentionally for Su Yan to hear.
"If Yu Fei hadn't gone to the piano competition and was at school, how could you have had the chance?!"
Su Yan turned her head and looked at the girl, her eyes shimmering.
She was momentarily confused.
Raised her hand and pointed at herself,
"Are you talking to me?"
She asked sincerely.
"You!"
The girl's face turned red, thinking Su Yan was provoking her.
She said fiercely,
"Just you wait!"
As soon as she spoke, the chemistry teacher's voice came over from the podium.
"Quiet down, for the last class, we'll have a simulated test. Anyone who finishes and thinks they can score above sixty points can turn in their paper and leave early."
The chemistry teacher was bald, had been teaching for many years, and understood the students well.
Nothing could attract them more than an early dismissal.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, the students all rubbed their hands together, full of enthusiasm.
Sixty points, huh.
If you do it seriously, you can leave early!
But as soon as the papers were handed out, many students were disheartened.
"What is this??!"
"Copper sulfate, dilute hydrochloric acid, ferric oxide,... oh come on! Does this bald guy not want us to leave??"
Some of the chemical formulas hadn't even been learned, yet this old bald teacher was testing them on it.
This chemistry teacher sat calmly on the podium.
He seemed oblivious to the complaints coming from the students below.
Once everyone quieted down, he slowly said,
"I just want to tell you that life's journey is long, with one difficulty after another. If you get too complacent, even fate won't let you."
As soon as he finished speaking, a chorus of low curses erupted.
But what else could they do?
Just solve the problems.
Twenty minutes later, everyone was absorbed in working hard.
Su Yan lifted her head, looked left and right.
She lightly bit her lip, hesitated to speak.
Then, she glanced at the paper bag under her desk.
Licked her lips.
Her soft voice rang out in the quiet classroom,
"Teacher, I'm done."
The bald teacher lifted his eyes, looking at Su Yan.
Finishing those questions in twenty minutes?
Wasn't she just guessing everything?!
He frowned; seeing this honest girl, how did she get into such sneaky tricks?
But seeing her obedient look, he swallowed his words of reprimand.
Thinking for a moment, he walked up to her.
Glanced at her completed test paper, initially planning to lecture her a bit.
But his gaze lingered on the paper after sweeping over it.
After a long while, he looked up at Su Yan,
"Did you do this yourself?"
She nodded,
"Yeah."
Hearing her reply, he picked up the test paper, examining it from start to finish.
The more he looked, the brighter his eyes became.
"The last question was the final question from last year's chemistry competition. How did you solve it?"
Su Yan licked the corner of her lip again, blinked her eyes,
"Was it difficult?"
After speaking, she glanced at her classmates engrossed in writing, bit her lip, and added,
"Uh, I spent a long time on it too."
The teacher was still studying her test paper, and after waiting a while, she spoke obediently,
"Teacher, you just said once we finish we can leave, can I go now?"
"No!"
The chemistry teacher immediately refused.
But when he looked up and met her pure eyes, as a teacher, going back on his word seemed wrong.
He cleared his throat,
"Alright, come to my office at school tomorrow morning."
Su Yan nodded, then with her backpack on and the paper bag in her hand, she walked out.
The teacher continued to study the paper carefully.
Unable to hold back, the students whispered gossips,
"Did this bald old guy suddenly become kind-hearted? Letting someone leave after casually doing the test?"
