Chapter Eight

February 28, 2018

I stood in front of the pokemon center on River street, with Gem, Lightning, Vulpix, Sylvie, and the one unhatched egg. It wasn't too cold out, so I wore my usual baggy jeans, a Pikachu shirt and Pikachu hoodie, and my rain boots.

"Izzy!"

Joce came running up with her Vanillite and Rockruff. She wore blue leggings, gray shorts, a t-shirt with a vanillite on it, and a gray jacket. "I can't believe we're going on our journey together!" She smiled, adjusting her ponytail. "Did you brush your hair?" She asked, rolling her eyes.

"Maybe..." I replied, blowing a curly strand out of my face.

Joce looked behind her, sighing a bit as her parents dragged her siblings towards them. "So slow."

We chattered a bit while we waited for Evey, and Lightning stared at Vanillite.

"Hi guys!" Evey ran up, and waved. Her buneary and jigglypuff followed her, as well as her two rambunctious brothers. "Sorry I'm late." She panted, and pushed a strand of her straight brown hair out of her face. She wore a red baseball cap with a pokeball on it, with a matching white shirt, red jacket, and a pair of blue jeans.

Our parents were already inside the pokemon center, and we rushed inside.

"Mom, we don't need a pokemon to babysit us!" I exclaimed, after my mom introduced us to the Lucario.

Mom rolled her eyes. "Not babysit. Protect. It's Dad's, so he knows you. Won't be awkward." She cleared her throat.

My cheeks burned bright red. "Okay, mom." I mumbled.

"Behave, Izzy!" Mom shouted after me as Joce, Evey, Lucario and I left.

Dad waved. "Don't get into trouble."

"Like she won't." Sia rolled her eyes.

Kat waved too, and smiled.
