Chapter 145

It was noon and Eden was more lively than ever. Dyna was helping with field designations as the farmers patiently waited for their turns. Those without proper equipment were being issued the tools needed and were allowed to pick horses from the stables to help plow the fields.

These things would typically come with heavy fees, but everything was provided without charge. With everyone prepared Dyna led them to the storehouse. With everything on display, they were blown away by the variety of seeds present. Everyone was free to choose their own crops, and show which parts of Eden were suited for their growth. After everyone was satisfied with their choices they immediately went to work.

Haruna was given the reigns of the defense force, and all the volunteers were gathered within the arena. With Haruna's knowledge of their movements and combat experience, she was the logical choice to the lead. Helping her in the arena with training was Athlan and Vicente. They were running endurance drills for now trying to determines everyone's level while they did inventory on weapons.

Rolen was in the forge with Thea showing the others where the essential materials were located. The group working inside the forge was made of mostly elves, lizardmen, and cyclops with experience in forging. There was also a small group of people hoping to apprentice under the current smiths.

Knowing Rolen's connection with Zack everyone looked at him for direction. This made him a little nervous at first, but with Thea at his side, Rolen took control. It didn't take long before the forges adjustments were pushed to the limits. With the threat lurking over the border they began working diligently to prepare the city.

At the sea Mero, and Shiro were searching for new citizens. Mero was heading towards the mermaid city to arrange a meeting. With Harvey, and Laura showing interest in starting a relationship between the two she decided it was the best choice to get results. Shiro's group was charged with sweeping the sea warning others about the slaver's movements and offering sanctuary for anyone needing it.

A few hours have passed, and everyone in Eden was busy with their own tasks as a visitor approached the gate. It was one the guards haven't seen in some time, but they welcomed her in with a smile.

Walking through the gate was Karin glancing around at all the changes since her last visit. After Stormhaven was attacked her comrades didn't think it was wise for anyone to leave their village. With the tensions settled she was wanting to check on Tanya.

"Been a while since you been here," Cynthia said leaping down from a nearby building.

"I'm surprised you're still here with everything that's happened. Have you seen Tanya around? I didn't see her in the shop." Karin asked.

"She's training with the others in the garden. They have been diligently cultivating for a few hours now." Cynthia replied walking up.

"That's good cause I need to speak with Zack as well. Where did all the new people come from?" Karin investigated as she glanced around.

"From Blackreach, and the neutral territories mostly. We also have a vampire clan living here as well. Most are in their home at the moment, but a few are roaming the grounds." Cynthia replied.

"I heard they settled things in Stormhaven, but never expected them to stay here. Is there any fighting?" Karin asked.

"Everyone is getting along quite well, and in last night's feast, they were sitting with the princess. You should really consider joining with what's coming." Cynthia stated.

"What are you talking about?" Karin asked as they walked towards the garden.

While Cynthia was sharing the news from last night Zack was meditating in the garden working on constructing his new spear. Its standard form didn't have issues, but the holy spear's true form needed extensive work.

Zack knew it would be a tedious process, but it was the only way to face Malachi again. In his mind, Zack imagined the holy spear in a true's form as it shattered into a thousand pieces. Zack slowly began refining the fragments so he could rebuild the spear stronger than ever.
