Chapter 208

"This is better than any resort I've been to," Wesley stated.

"Coming from you that's gotta be a very tough list to beat," Brian replied.

"What matters most is the company," Taylor said while grabbing Brian's hand.

"Mind if I take a better look at your clothes later?" Lilith asked Layla and the students.

"W-why?" Bethany investigated.

"The clothing you all possess is rather odd, but the new designs are beautiful," Eve stated.

"One of the reasons is your clothes got a reaction out of him," Lilith whispered to Layla.

They began talking about the other world they came from, and Athlan was closely listening to every word. He knew they came from somewhere special due to Zack's comments but never expected a world without a holy war to exist. Their world possessed many similarities to this world, but the defining factor was the lack of other species.

'It's very odd to have references to elves and other species of our world but to see them as purely fantasy. Did something happen to them? How does a world like that exist, and better yet why?'

"I need to speak with the elder before it's too late. I'll come looking for you after." Athlan kissed Eve on the cheek before leaving.

"I'll be waiting up for you." Eve smiled waving goodbye.

"Can all dragons take forms like that?" Wesley inquired.

"Some dragons can spend centuries trying to gain enlightenment, but never breakthrough," Lixue replied politely.

"To be centuries old, and still possess such a youthful appearance is amazing," Wesley said as an oppressive force radiated from the booth next to them.

"How dare you disrespect the princess like that! Apologize for this insolence this instant!" Lei shouted.

"She's only nineteen for your information!" Wei shouted.

"Please tell me you two didn't forget the rules again. Even if that was the case have you forgotten the punishment for eavesdropping?" Lixue asked as a powerful bolt of lightning struck at a distance.

Both of them rapidly shut their mouths and pretended like they were never there. Lincoln and the other dragons in their booth began laughing at their tight leash.

"I should've gathered more information before making a claim like that. Forgive me, princess." Wesley said while cupping his hands.

"It's okay this assumption happens quite often. If two dragons who've reached enlightenment bear a child they are born with the advantage. I'm the one who should be apologizing. My companions still need some time to understand the rules here, and Lixue works just fine." Lixue replied with a polite smile.

The elegance, benevolence, and beauty of Lixue truly represented one of noble birth. Seeing her behave so humbly, and giving such a warm smile the guest watched with awe. They were bathing with royalty and a dragon at that. No one back home would ever believe something like this.

'Why isn't he coming?'Elizabeth looked around irritated.

"Are there a lot of forests where you come from?" Mary asked.

"We are trying to regrow a lot of them, but it's gonna take time," Wesley replied.

"Where do you go to be close with nature?" Eve asked.

"There are some national parks, and some jungles left. Not everyone has easy access to things like that though. Gardening is a good way to feel close to nature, but you only have so much room to work with on a budget." Denam replied.

"We have artificial biomes now that can replicate it quite well. You should look into managing one if you have a passion for botany." Wesley told Denam.

"I've seen pictures of them before, and even visited one once but it's not the same. Nothing can compare to the real thing. The jungle was therapeutic till things started hunting us." Denam replied.

"If you truly like being in nature we have a few houses vacant within the forest. They are part of a new project being put into motion, and she would love some feedback on it." Eve told Denam.

Being able to walk into town was a plus, but it wasn't something Mary could sustain for long. With more training, it was possible. The mana-rich water they soaked in was definitely helping, but the fact remains that she would have to return to the forest.

Having friends nearby kept them from being lonely all the time, but Mary woke up right at sunrise while the others basked in the sun till noon. Until their training was complete she would still experience lonely mornings. Seeing the look on Denam's face when speaking about nature she was filled with excitement rapidly standing up.

"We have an h-house nearby!" Mary shouted.

"With all the new residents today should we really be taking another house just for us?" Taylor asked.

"It's a small cabin along the tree line so it's not a problem," Lilith replied.

Amara has been sitting next to Zess talking about their trip through the neutral territory. Knowing it was a rough place to survive for all species it was no small feat to make it with so many remaining. Nathan told the others about the ghoul attack, and hearing of Zess's performance she began flirting with him.

"You know my house is close by and would be easier to visit from the forest," Amara whispered before standing to leave.

Before walking forward her seven tails disappeared giving him a hazy image of her alluring figure through the fog.

"Having more space in the guest house could help everyone. What if two of us room there till they figure out the other living arrangements." Zess suggested to Taylor to ease her worries.

"That would leave two extra rooms for some of the parents," Layla told Taylor.

"What do you think?" Mary asked Denam with a nervous expression.

"If it helps everyone out I guess we can be roommates," Denam replied.

'Who could say no when they see a face like that?' Denam smiled as Mary sat next to him.

"I don't think he's coming," Elizabeth told Lilith with an irritated look.

Elizabeth got up storming out from the booth, and on her way to exit the bath, Risa stopped her.

"Are you looking for Zack?" Risa asked.

"Have you seen him?" Elizabeth inquired.

"Yeah, he wanted someone to get these. No one wanted to leave his side, but I snuck out intending to surprise him." Risa replied with a smile yearning for affection.

'Another one?'Elizabeth hid her irritated look to find Zack's location.

"It's later than I thought though, and my sister is expecting my help right now. Can you take it to the booth in the back, and tell him it's from me? It would m-mean a lot to both of us." Risa said while averting her gaze.

"Anything to help a fellow friend," Elizabeth said with a fake smile.

Risa handed Elizabeth a set of cups and sent the dolls with her to replace the keg.

'I'll just tell him It's from me, and that I was thinking of him. That way it will seem like we're connected on a deeper level.' Elizabeth smirked.
