Chapter 218

It was mid-day and the waystation was in full throttle. Guest are pouring through the arrays, and wagons were piling outside the gate. Today all guests were being permitted into Eden for the coronation. Rulers from all over the southern territory were arriving to witness the event, and denying an invitation from Ozen was unwise.

The first ruler to arrive was a young king named Cameron who ruled over the kingdom of Westbrook. Seeing the massive city before them they were all left confused. How could such a large city appear in one season? Through the past few months, rumors of Eden circulated, but hearing the way things were conducted they thought it was a small community.

Seeing the heavily fortified ramparts before them with powerful traces of mana radiating from above they began sweating. Once they were close enough to see the guards they saw bands of sentries patrolling with elven longbowmen stationed in watchtowers.

Standing at the gate were two minotaurs clad in mithril armor with large mauls radiating powerful magic. They had smiles on their faces greeting the guest but kept their weapons constantly at the ready. For a minotaur, a simple weapon made of rock could devastate a human, but the two guards possessed artifacts.

They were expecting a city of humans, but the more they looked around the more species they saw. It didn't take long to realize the humans were in the minority, but what surprised them was the demon guards. There were demon mercenary groups, but they each had the Eden emblem on their chest.

'Why would demons serve a human ruler?'

Cameron didn't understand why so many were willing to serve a human, but there was one thing he knew for sure. With a mighty force coming into power this close to home they had to avoid offending them.

"Everyone needs to be on their best behavior, and don't forget the rules," Cameron announced.

When Ozen notified Zack about the coronation, and how the other leaders would need to be present. Zack wanted it well known that everyone in Eden would need to be treated with respect. Seeing the serious look on Zack's face Ozen made sure they all knew the unusual nature of the city

To most of the royalty attending treating commoners as equals was a laughable concept. The one ridiculing this policy the most was Prince Edward. Queen Eliza refused to abide by such a request but had to send someone with high status to keep up appearances.

'How could such scum be my equal?'Edward scoffed while observing the workers returning from the fields.

Standing at Edward's side was a member of the royal guard named Roderick. His only task was to ensure the prince's safe return and after seeing the overwhelming forces he was concerned. They were only permitted to bring ten guards each, but that wouldn't get them far in these defenses.

"Remember the Queen's orders, and keep in mind we're outnumbered," Roderick whispered.

"Outnumbered? Our legions dwarf their forces easily but don't worry there won't be any issues. No one would be dumb enough to cross us." Edward said while strolling towards the estate.

As the guest continued to arrive Zack was in his room getting ready. Buttoning up his shirt with a smile was Olivia.

"Are you sure I can't call you majesty?" Olivia teased.

"Maybe just you, but not around the others," Zack said while pulling her in by the hips.

"I might just take you up on that offer," Olivia replied while wrapping her arms around his neck.

"It's rude to act like I'm not here." Lilith teased pressing against Zack's back.

"I thought you enjoyed watching," Zack smirked reaching back to squeeze her ass.

"Watching you in the act is one thing, but spoiling her with affection is different," Lilith replied.

"Is there a hint of jealousy in your tone? I have never seen that side of you, but yet again you always had problems sharing your toys." Olivia said as she left the room.

Lilith went red hiding her face in Zack's back. He turned around seeing she truly was jealous. Zack kissed her on the forehead while rubbing her back.

"If you didn't come into my life I would've likely stayed closed off. You helped me recover, and you mean the world to me." Zack told Lilith.

Lilith looked up at Zack revealing her flushed face, and he caressed her cheek.

"You look so cute when you're like this." Zack smiled.

"She really does." Olivia teased before closing the door.

"Does this mean I'll be your queen?" Lilith asked.

"You know we aren't doing titles like that," Zack replied as the two kissed passionately.

The two were sitting on the couch snuggled together enjoying their alone time. They talked about the changes around town and ways to improve life for the children. While cuddled up together there was a knock at the door.

"Lord Ozen's carriage is drawing near and he will be expecting you, my lady," Olivia said from the door.

"I need to change, and then I'll be right down," Lilith replied.

Lilith got up from the couch slowly undressing in front of Zack. His eyes wandered down her slender blue shoulders down to the dimples on her back. Lilith could feel his lustful gaze and gaze back with a smirk.

"If you keep staring at me like that I'll be late," Lilith told Zack while browsing through the closet.

"We would still show up," Zack said while walking up behind her.

"With your stamina lately the ceremony would be over," Lilith said while grabbing two dresses.

"Which one do you like better?" Lilith asked.

"Your hips always look better in the black one," Zack said while wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Then the black one it is," Lilith smirked.

"Where is Helena?" Lilith asked as she began dressing.

"She got really tired after we finished playing, and went to nap with Destiny. I think it's from using her grace this morning." Zack replied.

"For powers to manifest that early is rare, but given her lineage, I'm not surprised. I wonder how our I child would look." Lilith said as she adjusted her dress.
