Chapter 226

"I'm well aware of that. When I investigated the battlefield there was a large scar across the forest. Everything in front of her was incinerated for a mile radius. Tanya is a sweet child she wouldn't use it for something like that." Zack replied.

"I know she would never hurt someone intentionally, but every new tail brings a leap in power. With it, there's a learning curve due to an increase in primal instincts in combat. At the speed, she's advancing it could cause problems. Tanya will be okay, but she will need our guidance." Karin said while stopping in front of Zack.

"We will be there to help every step of the way," Zack replied while taking her hand.

"So where are we going?" Karin asked.

"Somewhere close by," Zack replied.

They talked about training methods for Tanya while strolling through the forest. As they neared the coast Karin could see a small structure at a distance. When they approached Karin noticed it was an open-faced hut facing the sea. It was made from sand yet hard as bricks, and the roof was weaved together with palm leaves. The structure was just big enough to snugly fit two.

"Who did you make this for?" Karin asked.

"Who else?" Zack replied.

"We made the plans last night," Karin stated.

"Before we played in the forest this morning I made a pit stop. One of the perks of being an angel is traveling made convenient." Zack said while pulling her close.

"That's how you put your new training to use?" Karin asked with a smile

"One could argue it's still training," Zack replied.

They walked towards the front of the hut as Zack ignited his fire orb to mimic a campfire they could huddle around. He retrieved the bedding needed for later to set up the hut before making seats by the fire.

'I thought it would get tiring doing this for so many people, but the look on his face says otherwise.'

"Did you get enough to eat tonight?" Zack asked.

"I was a little nervous about tonight so I avoided eating. I know that sounds weird." Karin replied.

"I was a little nervous to so no need to explain. Which do you prefer?" Zack asked while retrieving some raw meat that was being preserved.

"Have any fish? Haven't visited Lydia's in a while." Karin stated.

"I figured you would ask but wanted to get something fresh if that was the case," Zack replied.

"You don't have to go through all that. The chicken is good enough."Karin smiled.

"Tonight is about what you want, and it won't take long I promise," Zack replied while taking off his clothes.

Karin gazed at his toned back as her eyes wandered around his body. The cover of the bath would obscure the images, and with others around, she avoided staring. If this was a part of Zack going fishing she had no complaints.

While walking towards the water a trident slowly formed in his right hand as he dove into the water. Zack knew exactly where to go, and the way he maneuvered through the water could match the mersharks. Thanks to his frequent swims with Fuuka, and Mero being in the water was as easy as land. He was diving into the water at tremendous speeds following a trail taught to him by Mero.

'There it is.' Zack smiled.

In front of Zack was a colossal swordfish with large spines down its back, and a serrated edge along its upper jaw. It noticed Zack's speedy approach as the water began swirling violently to disrupt him. It rapidly faded away as the tip of its jaw, and tail became engulfed in mana propelling itself forward like a torpedo.

The two were locked in a battle of speed through the ocean, and the whirlpools below were only growing stronger. Zack was in close pursuit as the swordfish prepared to turn around for an attack, but Zack already hurled his trident.

'Can't hold back if I want a clean kill. Thank you for the contribution.' Zack extended his hand as his eyes flared.

It had only been a couple of minutes, and Karin could see Zack returning through the water. Behind him was a massive swordfish slowly being dragged onto the land. Once Zack placed it down its body covered the beach resembling a beached whale.

"That's a lot more than I thought. How did you find it so quickly?" Karin asked while averting her gaze.

'Did he notice me staring?'

"I've gotten used to our waterways," Zack replied as he prepared to clean his catch.

"Do you ever sleep?" Karin asked.

"Of course I do. Why would you ask that?" Zack investigated.

With the wind orb in Zack's hand, the swordfish was cut in an instant, and with extreme precision. With a flick of his hand, slabs of meat began floating off the bone. Zack stored each slab of meat except one, and doing so took several rings. He took another piece off the end creating a set of steaks before storing the remains within the ring. With a strong gust of wind, the remains were pushed into the water for scavengers.

"You've been training a lot lately, and even have a child now. Even with little time you go through all this effort. Doesn't it get tiring?" Karin asked.

"It's not tiring when it's something you love doing," Zack replied as he dissipating the orb.

Zack cleaned himself off in the ocean and put his clothes back on. Then he seasoned the steaks he left out and placed them on the fire. He returned to the seats gesturing for Karin to join him. Karin smiled while sitting next to Zack, and leaning into his open arms.

"If you don't mind me asking. Why did you show Lilith your home first?" Karin asked.

"The way she tried to tease me that day reminded me of Lauren. It all happened in the heat of the moment, but it was still an intimate act. Being the second person I had relations with it felt awkward to ignore her. She also kept following me after the city and didn't seem like the type to take no for an answer. I figured she would get bored, and move on, but things changed." Zack replied with a smile.

"You truly love her don't you?" Karin asked while looking into his eyes.

"I do, but she's not the only one. So much has happened, and the connections I've built with people developed into something more. I sometimes wonder what Lauren would think if she saw me now. She always wanted a big family so I like to think she would accept it. Don't think she would share a bed though." Zack smirked as he gazed up at the stars.

"That's the only thing that could take time for me to adjust to. I move a lot in my sleep..."Karin said nervously.

"In the future, we could use your house, but not sure how private that would be with Risa around," Zack smirked.

Seeing the smile on his face Karin leaned up kissing Zack as he wrapped his arm around her waist. She slid over onto Zack's lap as he flipped the food. With Karin in his lap and the low-hanging dress, it was difficult for Zack to not peep down. Karin smiled when she noticed and guided his hand into her dress.

"I never said I minded your glances," Karin said while making Zack clutch her breast.

Zack kissed the nape of her neck as he gently teased her nipple. Karin moaned softly as she circled her hips, and brushed against his cock. His other hand slowly trailed up from her knee with two fingers tracing circles along the way.

Feeling the tip of his fingers slowly reaching her inner thigh Karin began to part her legs. Zack clutched her thigh gently while nibbling behind her ear, and pinching her nipple between his fingers. Karin moaned as he slowly slipped off her left strap revealing her delicate shoulders as he kissed on it tenderly.

'Each spot he touches feels so good...How does he know all th-this.'Karin moaned.
