Chapter Sixty-Nine(69)

"Was that man trying to judge me?" She suddenly asked as soon as they left

*Ping*

"Well, he's lucky, I've been in a good mood since morning" she said then continued her work.

While she went back to her work, the trio left the office with Moira barely listening to whatever they were saying. All she cared about was that her son would soon get better and nothing else at least for this moment but Charles and Hank were having a whole different take on the situation.

"Why would she just agree to such a request just like that?" Hank asked, he hoped that Miss Anna was doing this without any bad intentions but even he had to admit that something was definitely suspicious about this deal.

Elysium had nothing to gain from this and they will probably have to waste some resources just to get Kevin back to normal so this entire deal was suspicious to Hank. Nobody does anything without having to gain something, even those donating to charity in secret, may not gain anything physical but they gain satisfaction in doing so and probably a better chance at heaven if it exists. These people know that hence why they do it but he couldn't think of anything that Elysium would gain from doing this.

"I have no idea but let's hope she has good intentions" Charles said with a frown on his face

"Can't you both just let things be, someone can do something without having bad intentions, we do it, Elysium can do it too" Moira said in defense of her new patron

"Let us hope so" Hank said

Meanwhile a certain boy and best friend along with several other young men who looked to be around the ages 17-19 were chasing themselves around a large clearing filled with various obstacles while holding onto guns of all shapes and sizes and wearing almost standard military uniforms.

"Ouch!!" A scream was heard from somewhere in the large clearing

"You're out!!" Everyone screamed almost instantly, well almost everyone but it did result in everyone laughing

"I swear, I'll get you back Caleb" a male voice shouted as the owner left the field

Soon after several extremely silent and fake gunshots were heard along with a set of "ouch" and another group left the play field. This continued on for a few more minutes until only one of them was remaining and of course, it wasn't James. He was terrible at airsoft no matter how much smarter he was, planning and executing said plan was a whole different thing. That's when reality becomes disappointing but thankfully it was just a game and nothing else.

"I hate this game" Matthew said in a tone made it seem as though he was about to cry

"Pfft!!... Hahahahaha!!!' the entire group laughed uncontrollably, he was the first to leave the game.

James had recreated Airsoft here for Military use. For more on hands practice as though they were in the field, the original Airsoft guns, James had made replicate both the sound and recoil of the original guns thus perfectly replicating the feeling of actually carrying and using the real guns while the users. The bullets they used too were also more painful than the ones used by the civilians, it helped develop their accuracy and all without Elysium spending several thousands of dollars worth of resources creating bullets for practice.

After several months, the guns were remade into what they are today and sold publicly. On Elysium, the only thing related to guns you may find were these airsoft guns that have no means of harming even a baby talkless of a grown child but of course, it hurt but not so much. As for why James was playing with older students, it was simple, no one his age wanted to play the game because the seniors had taken over the entire field. It was somehow made into a senior exclusive game.

Seeing his friend who was way worse than him in the game leaving while nearly crying, James followed after to console him while also trying to hold back his laughter after all that is what friends do. His Motherbox floated and followed him everywhere but nobody questioned it since most people didn't care or just didn't want to ask.
