Hundred & Nine (109)

Immediately they called in, James was greeted with the sight of hundreds of scientists and other staff walking around as they all went about their business. This gave James the feeling that everyone was busy which made James smile until he suddenly frowned

"You thought you could escape me huh?" A female voice was heard, one could even bear the smile in her tone

"Ah come on!!, Why didn't you tell me that she was here" James said feeling betrayed

"Suck it up, now we have something to do" Gali said knowing that she had definitely ruined his plans.

She knew James well enough to know that he would leave all he had to do today just to come test the newly developed weapons. He may not use them ever again considering he would never appear on a battlefield but he definitely wanted to hold them and test them.

"Why do you keep doing this to me?" James said while pretending to be hurt by her actions.

"Please, without me and Paris around, you would have long since gotten yourself blown up or something"

"Can't deny that but still.."

While the two 'argued', the General couldn't help but just think about his nation's ruler. From all he had seen, the king was definitely competent but at times, it just feels as though they put a baby on their throne. Turning his attention from the two who were acting like some old couple, the man decided to simply focus on his task as he led them to the testing grounds.

The testing grounds was a slightly big room with one of its walls made entirely of glass and beyond that was a large empty room. The empty room's walls were made entirely of metal, this was the real testing grounds and the other room was simply an observation deck.

"Your Majesty, Miss Gali" one of the men in the observation deck bowed in greeting as James and Gali entered the room

"So what are we testing today" Gali asked going straight to the point

"It's just a total of three weapons" the man said with a crazy look on his face that made James feel like this was a bad idea.

"Okay then let's see them" James said as he steeled his heart to the type of destruction he may witness, not that he was worried that the weapons could damage anything after all the room was made of modified Mysterium that was basically impossible to damage unless you have some means of manipulating matter on the atomic level.

"First we have the ones designed for the Spartans, this is the ZZ9, a biological weapon and no, it's not biological in the sense you are thinking" the man said the pressed a button and a small platform rose in the testing ground.

On the platform was some weird looking sentry gun. It was huge and mounted on an equally weird looking platform, looking at it carefully, James could see how the gun was classified as a biological weapon.

The thing was alive and from what his senses could tell him, this gun was essentially a creature…. If it could even classify as one that feeds on energy to essentially charge itself then amplifies the energy and shoots out powerful plasma blasts.

Basically a biological version of the star wars guns but on crack and in the hands of regular soldiers and not Clones who can't aim for shit. Looking at the weapon, James could see why it was made for the Spartans. This thing came loaded with a powerful recoil which was understandable considering what comes out of it.

".... As you can tell from their smaller size, they are to be mounted on trucks. I can tell from your faces that you aren't all that impressed but I assure you, so are we. This was simply added to show that we have learnt and are about to master the weird art of growing weapons" the man said and everything made sense

Elysium didn't need such a turret gun, it already had automated ones that could dish out even more power than this one but James still saw a lot of potential in the gun since just like the presenter had said, this was the product of them simply learning the art. When it becomes fully mastered then the gun would truly become interesting.
